  1. Man you had some nice copies. I hate to ask what you sold it for but you know today market hot then hit rock bottom. I am really not after the money. Yes it is nice to get profits but I do not want the comics to get shoved in the corner. Even though most of my collection is at the high end dosn't mean people will buy it cause maybe they are not into the subject. I hardly even bought DC batman etc. So wow I might have a 9.9 rare i get it blue moon but if people are not into its worth maybe paper printed on.
  2. Thanks. I did research and new there was a market for it. Great appreciate the feedback.
  3. I posted a few. Photos are not the best cause I was just took a few quick shots.
  4. Thanks for the warm welcome. I posted a few little photos of my crazy now deemed comic room that I am working on them slowly. When I can get organized I will post some for grading etc.
  5. Also, I was lucky my total time was under a week to get them back =P
  6. Thanks. I did not ask for the pressing why I am wondering if my 9.8's or even my 2 hulk 340 9.6 might get better if I paid for the service. I know it could be other defects in the comics why it was scored down but as you said its a roll of the dice. What do you think just run with the numbers I received or send back ask for the service and regrade?
  7. My Secret Wars 8 got an 8.5 but I knew that comic was a little beat up but I sent it cause I "should" be able to get $100-$200 for it I am thinking.
  8. Thanks for the heads up I will take a peek =)
  9. I totally understand your point. I think (could be wrong) that as a kid I bought all my comics from a comic shop and maybe they actually cared about the comics. They also put them in plastics and back boards. There where never exposed comics. IDK.
  10. I have looked at that form and I think it is really has a good layout. I will post comics that I am going to send in for my next batch but I am been trying to change back boards and plastics =/.
  11. First thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I have attached a few of the comics that I received back from CGC as well as some photos of my crazy now christened comic room lol. I am replacing every bag and back board. These photos are no high rez they are quick shots of examples of comics I got back and just a few I have laid out on the floor. What are people opinions of sending Hulk 340's back and seeing if they can press or work any magic to get a 9.8. It seems 9.6's goes around $500-$600 but 9.8 seems to be $1200 and up? Thanks again!
  12. 5.5 - 6.0 on the condition. Hope this helps.
  13. Hi. I just joined CGC and sent in 16 of my comics. As a kid (I am 49 now) I collected many comics and had them in plastic bags and back boards. I usually bought 2 of the same comic one to read and one to sell. I was little surprised like some when I sent my first 16 comics into CGC I was hoping for a better grade. Seems the needle is stuck at 9.4-9.8. I did not take out a magnifying gas and I did not check every page or look for minor dents in the covers since I know CGC are the pros. Any advice on an "easy" way to figure out which books to send in that are worth the most? I get looking at ebay at what sold and such, just wish an easier form was available. I do not have any rare comics most of my collection 3500 but a huge potion 85% is mint. Thanks for your time!
  14. I think CGC will be improving turn around times for book that do not restore and all that fancy stuff and if they are "modern" age.
  15. 5.0 would be best guess from what I gotten from CGC back as graded comics. There is also writing on the cover that "may" degrade it more so. I hope this helps!
  16. It might not be that bad depends if you picked comics to get touched up etc. Mine took under a week.
  17. 7.5. I sent in 16 comics and one came back a 7.5 cause a page was bent (my fault I missed it). But the others were 9.2 to 9.8's. I even thought 2 of the 9.6's should have been an 9.8 they are tuff. I hope this helps. Good luck.
  18. I know I am late to the party but did you notice the cover was from 1987 and the Conan insert was from 1988 one year later? Both in February but a year later. I would not think they would have a cover laying around for a year. Just my thoughts.
