  1. This is an incredible thread, but it also shows how little I really know about protecting my books for the long-term. Thanks to all who have spent countless hours researching paper conservation/preservation and the effect of pressing on a comic's long-term condition. Would someone be able to summarize the current recommendations for CGCd books versus raw? I know the real intent of the thread was to study the pressing concerns, but it would be a shame not to reinforce the message of proper conservation/preservation techniques for those new to this thread. I never thought of buying archive paper for my collection, but always went with traditional bags/boards and periodic changeout every few years. Is there a separate thread that contains recommendations already? If there is, so sorry to hijack this fantastic thread.
  2. That's why I'd be surprised if history says the Copper Age kicked off with a response mini-series, even though it had a larger impact to the DC Universe as a whole.
  3. Awesome stuff!!!! + INFINITY Greggy tapping away gleefully is just too funny.
  4. + 1 And the shame is this has happened before and folks wrote it off as just a kid who needed a break.
  5. What is confusing Connor? Where are you seeing PayPal holding up the process?
  6. By the way, do you know if an officer showed up to the house and spoke with the parents? That is definitely what was needed most to drive a point home on top of the funds being returned.
  7. (thumbs u Actually, this recommendation makes the MOST sense as it puts the pressure where it belongs. On Connor to mail out all funds, AND pay for Certified Mail to validate it has been sent. I found out the USPS will not allow for Delivery Confirmation on non-boxes, so the best bet will be Certified Mail. The extra cost is his problem to deal with.
  8. I'm not sure their was a better solution. I have to agree. This entire situation was a mess that needed any form of cleanup, but there is never a set playbook to undue a trainwreck. You deal with it the best you can with what you have available. Connor should realize how much of a painful situation he created for everyone, including himself, and be thankful so many kind people jumped in to resolve the aftermath of his mess.
  9. It's actually changed a few times as we go along, which shows how confusing it can be just throwing comic periods around too freely. Here is one decent discussion about how to define the comic periods based on major events like someone mentioned before http://scoop.diamondgalleries.com/public/default.asp?t=1&m=1&c=34&s=265&ai=44329&arch=y&ssd=10/11/2003%2012:01:00%20PM Not sure if I agree Crisis On Infinite Earths is what kicked off the Copper Age, but for its time I guess it did have a major impact in trying to clean up the DC history. And here is a decent mention of where Overstreet even got confused because one minute they are calling an earlier book Copper Age, and then a later book Bronze Age. http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Copper-Age Sounds like this is getting too confusing.
  10. Lebowski in Lithuanian means "The Sneaky One."
  11. Thanks so much to dwip99 for some great raw Copper Age books that were well packaged and shipped immediately. Great grading Danny, and thanks for being super to work with!
  12. Found a photo of the Valiant dealer appreciation gift, which I believe was sent out for Christmas in 1994.
  13. I got me a six-pack. You were able to get all 6 labels? How does it look overall?
  14. Didn't Valiant Comics start that craze when they produced that Archer & Armstrong beer that was only sent to dealers? Those were really cool looking.
  15. Trade bait for Greggy? is he hoarding MR Monster comics with Kelly on the cover?
  16. You're a good man J for taking all this on to resolve the situation. Thanks for showing so much care. (thumbs u
  17. Not to derail this thread but I was always wondering how many complaints it takes for Paypal to suspend an account. I am curious if it is a certain number and if so, how many and over what period of time. They would never answer that question when I asked awhile back. Me too, though I am sure frequency of complaints in a given period could have an impact.
