  1. The outpouring of appreciation from fellow celebrities is incredible, no matter having worked together or not.
  2. Emergency Awesome review with a mix of non-spoilers and spoilers. Mid-budget Logan-like movie so don't expect something massive. And much more horror than Marvel films have contained. But very short (90 minutes) and not complex. Anya Taylor-Joy (Magik) is the standout star. Maisie Williams was also a standout. Better if they had truly committed to the horror elements like was planned for the reshoots. Enjoyable, but mid-budget quality.
  3. The cast is fantastic. But the story is hopelessly generic. With superhero film standards from the 1990s. Not the worst X-Men film. Overall: 1.5/5
  4. Strength of the movie is in the story as a comic book movie. The weak part is the characters with development. If you get a chance, go see it.
  5. Another one of those comic book movies where the reviewer seesaw goes back and forth, depending on the expectations. Take that for what it is.
  6. 43 is such a very young age to pass away. With all our advances in medicine. Yet we still cannot eliminate cancer.
  7. Although there has been bad, there have been strong and very good too. \ Solid: X-Men, X2, First Class, Days of Future Past, Deadpool, Logan, Deadpool 2 Good: The Wolverine, Dark Phoenix Bad: Last Stand, Origins: Wolverine, Apocalypse TBD: The New Mutants This bashing that takes place to detract from the films because there wasn't this consistent flow to the stories ignores all that Solid and Good.
  8. Thor and X-Men: First Class screenwriter.
  9. Creepy characters worked but didn't go far enough. Some characters get overshadowed and underdeveloped. It was fine. Overall: 6.0/10
  10. Was it worth going: Yes and no Worth the wait: Better than they thought it would be Should it have gone to theaters: Streaming would have been better Middle of the road X-Men film
  11. Dan Murrell (formerly of Screen Junkies, Honest Trailers) thought it was based on days gone by, so a snooze. Forgettable, but not terrible.
  12. Self-contained story with continuity issues. It's just 'okay'. A pretty good time. Overall: B (7.5/10)
  13. Enjoyed the movie as something different, but the storytelling was very familiar. Overall: C+
  14. This film's journey for something that was actually shot already and took all this time is nuts. To include one of the actors being interviewed about it two years later on cursing about the holdup. What a crazy ride!
  15. Should I take your angle and assume things as so far I don't know if this film is good or not? Just want to make sure you tell me what I think I think. As far as Joker being the least rewatchable superhero-related film - there's where you are starting off with the wrong mindset. Todd Phillips noted it was a grounded take on a recognized villain with an origin that has been clouded in detail for a very long time. Being grounded, it wasn't intended to convey any superpowers, paranormal or mythical influences leading to assumption it was superhero-related. It's just a troubled individual realizing where all his pains started, and letdown by the support system society offered.
  16. Metacritic slammed Joker as trash due to the critics noting it would lead to incels protesting and more than a few noting it would be like The Dark Knight inspiring the Aurora shooting (it didn't) Rotten Tomatoes: Caught more than once being tampered with by critics, studios and even movie-goers MRQE: Aggregates all critic scores like RT with 70% being the positive - like RT IMDb: Utilizes user ratings to determine location (domestic, international), general audience and gender-based results You pick your poison.
