  1. Hello It looks like it might qualify for an error card. Mike Partial Crimp / Crimped / Crimped and Cut A Partial Crimp error can be seen on the bottom of this Lugia from Wind from the Seal. A Full Crip is evident in the center of this 1st Edition Base Set Machamp and this poor Porygon2 from Burning Shadows was Crimped and Cut. Click images to enlarge. When cards are packaged, they are surrounded by the pre-printed booster pack art foil that is then heat sealed around the proper quantity of cards to become a pack. Sometimes, this process can go wrong, and a card or cards can slip forward or backward and come in between the crimper’s heat-sealing mechanism. When this happens, the intricate design of the crimping machine is imparted into the card. If only a portion of the crimp is seen on the card, it will earn the Partial Crimp designation. When the entire Crimp can be seen, the card is simply called Crimped. Lastly, the crimping machine can sometimes even cut a piece off the card. When this happens, CGC Trading Cards labels it Crimped & Cut like the Porygon2 above.
  2. Is this a QC issue or a grading issue? I am not sure yet. The QC manager will investigate this.
  3. It will be included in my weekly e-mail for quality control. I will be sure to mention he needs to make everyone aware they need to look for this problem.
  4. You would just complete a submission form, and print out a copy (packing slip) and sent it in with your books.
  5. I'm basically here to help people out, keep members in line, keep people amused the best I can, take punches, make positive changes, and a long list of other things. I've took much worse beatings working in the woods for 35 years, and received a decent amount of kudos here. My skin can change from thick to soft. For me, it's all good here.
  6. Hopefully, I will have an answer for you tomorrow.
  7. I think the original wheels in motion thread wasn't created by Ian. It was a long time ago, but I think it was in response to something Ian said. The original one was much longer. I'll see if I can find it.
  8. Here is a link to all of the threads he started. https://boards.cgccomics.com/profile/1805-ian_levine/content/?type=forums_topic
  9. Please confirm this @CGC Mike Thank you. The book will not be regraded unless it was damaged. I would be more than happy to check on the grade, if the OP wants to send me the submission number. The grade has not been entered in the cert lookup. CGC Cert # 4100921001 Title Adventures of Superman Issue 505 Issue Date 10/93 Issue Year 1993 Publisher D.C. Comics Variant Collector's Edition Grade Art Comments Karl Kesel story Tom Grummett & Doug Hazlewood art Kesel, Grummett & Hazlewood cover Key Comments Holo-grafx foil cover. Grader Notes Unavailable
  10. It's my feeling the book will come back the same grade.
  11. Hello CGC Trading Cards currently only grades cards that measure 6.3cm x 8.8cm or less. So, I do not believe we can grade this. You could measure to be sure. Also, we would not be able to remove the smaller piece and grade them both separately. Mike
  12. Hello The design of the Spider Gwen custom label was recently changed. Let me look into this, and I will let you know. Mike
  13. 15 years ago, this response would turn into 100 pages. LOL
  14. No, we would not witness a Sports signing. That is currently only something CGC Comics does.
  15. Hello We plan to release Marvel cards to the online submission form later next week. Mike
  16. See my PM, as I gave you instructions on how to submit for reholder to get rid of the plastic shard. Also, here are the maximum dimensions. Size restrictions. CGC will not certify collectibles that are too large for its holders. This includes: Comic books larger than 10-1/2” tall x 7-5/8” wide x 1/4” thick; Magazines larger than 11-1/2” tall x 8-7/8” wide x 1/2” thick.
  17. Hello Is this what you are looking for? Mike https://www.cgccomics.com/census/grades_standard.asp?title=Sports+Illustrated&publisher=Time+Inc.&issue=v59+%2323&year=1983&issuedate=November+28%2C+1983
  18. Hi You had to make a post before you can DM someone. You now should be able to. Mike
  19. Payment for all submissions is due upon receipt of your order. We process those payments once your order is logged in and verified. The paperwork then goes down to accounting to be charged. The length of time it will take for an order to reach that point in the process will vary depending on the tier you have selected. An order under a Faster tier like Express or Walkthrough will see the charge much faster than something like Economy as that tier has a much longer turnaround time and the process in general will take longer for those tiers.
  20. Hello CGC does not certify books that are sealed in a manufacturer's poly-bag. To have a poly-bagged book certified by CGC, you must either remove the book from its poly-bag or send written approval authorizing CGC to remove it. The words “Poly-bag removed” will appear in the key comments section on the CGC label. The label will not specify if any loose item was in the poly-bag with the comic. When the comic graders remove items from a poly-bagged comic, the items are returned to the submitter in a separate mylar/bag and board. Mike
