  1. That is for return shipping, not shipping to CGC. You are responsible for getting your collectibles to us.
  2. Hello I believe it means put the cards in the same order as they are listed on the packing slip. In other words, the first card listed on the packing slip should be on top. This will make it easier for CGC to verify the cards sent match the cards listed on the packing slips. Mike
  3. I have added some wording to the marketplace guidelines. I have also made a post below the guidelines for the "ok to post" template if rules are not complete in someone's FS thread. Here is the added text: Buyers may not post in a way that hurts a sellers chance of a sale, or discredits their reputation. A few examples would be saying this book is priced too high, or a cheaper copy can be found at xxxxx. Another example would be, I don't like this person, and would never buy from him/her. There may be a few exceptions for known scammers. We can tell the difference between a joke and a rude or unnecessary comment. A decision either way will be at the discretion of the moderator. Violation of this rule will result in points added to your account, and possibly restricting your ability to post on the forum. If a buyer or seller is on the Probation or Hall of Shame list, it is ok to make 1 post only to alert the community. Being on said list does not mean a seller is restricted from listing books for sale or a buyer is restricted from purchasing but, we understand the need to make people aware of the situation.
  4. CGC has recently received a high volume of expedited packages.
  5. This is a suggested "ok to post" rules reminder template so that everyone can feel comfortable helping to keep things in line with the guidelines instead of feeling like a self appointed forum cop. If someone is not complying with the rules, this should be considered an OK way for everyone around here to nudge people a bit. Once in a thread is plenty, guys. After that you can re-post it in new threads (once) but then just hit the notify moderator button if things don't get cleaned up. Hello! Welcome to the "Comics Market - Forum Only Selling" board! The moderators have asked everyone around here to help educate new comers about the posting rules for this forum so that we can keep things running smoothly. So whenever we see a new thread go up that's missing some of the information required by the rules, someone will generally happen along and post this reminder (by moderator request). You can find the posting guidelines here: Specifically, you should check out #s (FILL IN SOME NUMBERS HERE. OR DON'T. LET'S FACE IT DIGGING UP RULE NUMBERS IS ACTUALLY WORK.) They are well worth reading, because your posts can be removed from the boards if they don't conform to the guidelines. This will help you to attract more buyers as well, since this is how people expect to have books offered around here. Thanks, and glad to have you here!
  6. I have moved this to the Signature forum.
  7. The tech team is aware of the google search problem.
  8. So, I am going to scrap the idea of adding more reaction emojis. There doesn't seem to be much interest. Also, I don't really like any of the choices. If something more appealing comes along in the future, we can revisit this.
  9. When the board techs get caught up on everything else, I will address this problem. The first batch sent to them was substantial.
  10. I am leaning towards this format as well, seems that's the way it was done in the past. Just to be clear, CGC is issuing a grand prize to the first place winner. So, does the prize picking from other donated prizes start with 1st place or 2nd place? What does everyone think?
  11. It seems most everyone is in favor of mixed age books for each contest. I would like to hear more thoughts about how the donated prizes should be distributed.
  12. We appreciate all of the responses so far. It is easier for us to mix the ages for the contest so, it looks like it will be a win for everyone.
  13. The contest will be finished before the books ship from CGC, meaning the submitter won’t know the grades yet. We’ll organize this to where there is no delay in their order due to their books being used.
  14. We're not going to reveal the source but, we will be getting permission from the Submitter(s).
  15. I wouldn't be in favor of adding any that could widely be used to troll but, would consider a +1 or smile emoji. Leaning heavy towards a +1 I think that emojis only replace posts that include a quote with a laugh, thumbs up or similar emoji reply. If someone truly has something to add, they will post.
  16. Someone has brought up adding a few more reaction emojis. What do you guys think? Here is what was posted. We currently have the five basic 'default' reaction options provided by Invision, the forum software supplier: Like Thanks Confused Sad Haha There are some interesting discussions about their use on the Invision site, and many users of the software on other forums have requested additional ones. One that caught my eye was the 'plus one' option - here is what it looks like in use: Historically, I haven't been a fan of the reactions system but they are firmly embedded now and I don't see that changing. So the next best thing would be to update them, and perhaps tailor them better to our users needs. I would like to see a basic smiley face myself. When someone makes a post that makes me smile, I sometimes feel that the laugh is too much, but the standard 'like' fails to adequately covey my feelings. I know, I really did just post that. Anyway, maybe you could canvass opinion on this, as you have done the emojis? That seemed to get members engaged and freshened things up a bit. Here are some of the options I saw on the Invision site:
  17. I can't make a decision if they will be an alternate first place prize, in case the winner doesn't submit books but, I will discuss that with management.
  18. Hey all: I have posted this in comics general but, I thought I would share here, too. Matt Nelson and I have been discussing the possibilities of CGC hosting some grading contests. These contests will most likely start in January. Here is CGC’s proposed grading contest. The scoring format has been used by CGC over the past several years to test convention attendees and dealers, as well as CGC graders in-house. The contest will take place four times a year. Images of the front and back of 15 books will be posted on the boards to begin the contest. Each participant will PM all 15 grades at once to Mike. Participants have one week to PM their grades before the contest closes. The final grades and individual/collective results will be posted the following week. The lower the score, the higher the ranking. Nailing the grade equals 0 points; each grade off in either direction adds a point. Example: guessing a 7.5 or 9.6 on a 9.0 garners 3 points. Those who place in the top ten will immediately participate in a second grading round, grading five additional books for final ranking and prizes. CGC was planning on offering a very nice grand prize, that will most likely be grading credit. If other prizes are donated by contestants, they would be divided up by 2nd through 5th place. The dividing of the donated prizes between 2nd through 5th place isn't etched in stone yet. We are open to opinions on how to divide up these prizes. Would you prefer that we do: 1 contest with Modern age books, 1 with copper age books, 1 with silver age books and 1 with golden age books, or have each grading contest contain mixed aged books?
  19. I started a thread about future grading contests, hosted by CGC.
