  1. Hmmm I wonder how I would do that. It’s has rust stains on each page at the staple that decreases in staining from front to back.
  2. I can remove the stains but I went easy I didn’t want to remove completely but it looked like I lightened the stain. Which I thought might be a give away I can remove the rust stain better but it’s not ever going to look perfect given it’s age1964.
  3. 1. I don’t have the TIME I work a lot but I do have the disposable income. I can fly to USA now borders are open. I could do this on a holiday I suppose. Guess I’m going to Florida? Dan Diego? I would need to plan this as to take leave. Can you give me a link to a calendar of events? 2. I’m Australian living in Australia 🇦🇺 3. I collect…I’m a collector
  4. There’s 2 options what’s best? I’m going to go with FedEx? Do you think? If shipping via USPS, send to: CGC PO Box 4738 Sarasota, FL 34230 If shipping via FedEx or UPS, send to: CGC 5501 Communications Parkway Sarasota, FL 34240
  5. They have a fine print on authorised dealer Authorized Dealers and Official Submission Centers are independent from, and unaffiliated with, CGC. 6. I think the post here is actually pretty reliable. It’s the clauses for international shipping like CCG Companies cannot provide or procure insurance for international return shipments to Customer. Customer assumes all risk of loss or damage to collectibles during return shipment from CGC to Customer. Customer is responsible for selecting a carrier (e.g. USPS Mail) for return shipping and for procuring insurance on return shipping. If Customer does not select a carrier, collectibles will be returned via USPS Mail I’d say most grade companies have similar clauses. I can go down the road to HALO. HALO provides same deal but it’s terrible quality I mean all I’d be paying for is them to grade it really, some people will do that to sell a big key quick because it has a grade from a recognised grading company and they don’t want to wait for CGC.
  7. Hi so I bought some brand new comics “Legion of X” and they had some marks on the cover. I told the store Kings Comics Australia I would like a replacement. They said it’s the publishers fault and it’s not accepted by the publisher as damage because of the manufacturing of the books it’s to be expected and Marvel has bad paper and other books have the similar problem, blah blah blah. Anyway so every cover has the same mark in the same location some less or more it breaks colour you could say? How will that affect the grade I get? I will attach a picture of the defect.
  8. Sorry if this sounds dumb so I want to send my books to CGC I asked if I could fly over and drop off and they said I cannot walk in drop off as I’m not an approved dealer/retailer/something even with the highest paid membership you can not do this. And even with a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of books, I can’t drop off. At present there is a store in my country, only 1 that is authorised to do the CGC drop off. It’s not close by. CGC can make the effort to go to UK but could they come to Australia soon? Please
  9. The book has rust marks I can’t hide that but I would like to take the rust that has shed off the staples from the page I’m not trying to clean the staples, only the rust on the page.
  10. What about EGS? How do they rate on your scale?
  11. I know there’s examples for all different types of books. That doesn’t mean I will get the same result. If you can provide a gem 💎 of wisdom, where do you get a lot of books to practice with?
  12. I didn’t ask for the formula I just wanted to know why such variables in how people press and where I should start. Thanks for your experienced explanation.
  13. I’m interested because some people use 140 F and others 175 F and some of the t-shirt machines only go as low as 200 F. so for example one said 175 F for 25 seconds leave for 6 hours and they use 1 aluminium plate plus boards and Teflon another has 140 F for 5 minutes they use 2 aluminium plates and Teflon and this one I haven’t seen a video but it said about 200 for 25 minutes and leave overnight I’m assuming they use boards and or Teflon These are all so varied, what is the best?
  14. Look I want to be clear about the topic. It’s the last ten years. So say 2011’z if I had to pick a book to show why I want it at 9.8 then it’s gonna be Ultimate Fallout 4. The variant of the book is another discussion. And I don’t want “graffiti” aka signatures or remarks in the mix. I’ve bought some 9.6 and they ain’t as hot 🔥 even thought the book is 🥵 hot. the difference in a grader matters to. CGC is the preferred choice. doesn’t mean they are the best. Sometimes I think they cause defects well CCS might, who knows? Hopefully tonnes of people enter the CGC grading comp so they have some comparable results to what they think stuff is graded at. If there are significant differences then CGC should take note because some people on this chat or elsewhere have probably been grading longer than the slave labour workers at CGC for $15 an hour… thanks
  15. Why UV A I would have thought UV B would make things whiter as that’s what people use on their skin? I try using products people use on their skin I am yet to use teeth whitener but it’s on the list.
  16. That information is really helpful. I much prefer references with facts. so thank you 🙏 You’re ok guy, it’s just your way of speaking. I’m not a teacher, oh yeh I am. Sorry buddy it’s my nature. thanks again those links to the data are much appreciated. do you have any links to data about print runs?
  17. We and is kinda did my head in. Are you a company or a third person talking to me? Thanks buddy good to know all will get older right. Well funny CGC is doing a thing on rare 9.8’s not a lot of numbers like I guess what you’re showing on the ASM. I would like to see that database of rare low print run 9.8’s maybe not even low print run just not many 9.8’s??? also I recently saw a 9.9, no joke I can’t tell how it got it because I don’t know just it’s independent and I’m guessing it came straight off the print run to CGC. You decide… Being sold by a comic book shop/company, the king of comics in the land down under…who know how to grade comics but struggle at times to explain their grades, unless graded by CGC of course.
  18. I hear and see the same opinion that there are new graders and the grades are tightening up. Maybe it implies that CGC is flattening the curve on what is given a higher grade.
  19. I see graded 9.8 a lot more than you think these days, I also see lots of mid - low 9’seven more than 9.8 for sale. Not everyone can get 9.8! And tbh I don’t know anyone getting over 9.8, which seems weird since some of all the 9.8’s must be better than others??? I got to ask you for comics printed in the last 10 years why would you buy a 9.2 when the best is 9.8 and still available to purchase, at some cost but not an unreasonable price? Maybe you buy it to c&p and bump up the grade? It’s for personal reasons? You reinvest in your own low graded books? There’s not a lot graded of a certain book? Can’t afford high graded books? Thanks buddy
  20. What are some of your methods? I just watch YouTube videos and ask here plus reddit. I just found this on YouTube using toulene. It’s a chemical in some spray paint it was banned as a substance in the USA for use in spray paint.
  21. I used the isopropyl and salicylic acid to remove some sticky tape goo. It was good. Didn’t do much besides ripples if used too much, don’t think it took off colour. Will try this mix with peroxide next.
  22. Just thought it has a few formats so I was wondering if you knew something about it’s publications. *photos for reference not grading.
