  1. @Cat Last 6 months of books. So about 615-ish books. Zero newton tings and zero cracked cases.
  2. #2 tip. If you have to sell through 3rd party then pay the lowest fees possible.
  3. I am usually 50/50 on agreeing with him, but the first 5 min is worth a listen because I do agree completely. KANG is not the answer going forward.
  4. #1 tip sell it for more money than you paid?
  5. I think they are going to just go back to 2 MCU movies a year, and that right away will have a world of difference in quality control. Less sometimes will make you more.
  6. Truth usually is somewhere in the middle right? So, I hear what you saying but I think there is some validity that what others saying is happening and you are saying doesn't happen. Maybe not as extreme as people make out to be, but its is def there. #1 culprit, I agree....bad storytelling, but some of those bad stories are a byproduct of trying to be extreme and pandering. Where even one writer flat out said, "if you don't like my politics then don't buy my book." Think we can agree that usually is not a great way to sell new comics.
  7. Yes I agree, I just again hope this movie bombing is the last straw that forces them to course correct. I am just over anything Kang, and just want to see the character just go away.
  8. Oh I am with you (isnt it nice we finally agree on something? ), and I think they can do well with the FF, just X-Men will probably be more relatable to the vast audience and a bigger draw than the FF. Now where I think we both for sure agree is if they do FF right and mix in Dr. Doom (villain 1A) and Galactus (villain 1B) and combo that with X-men and Magneto then you easily have 10-15 years of magic if done right. Plus even a X-Men vs Avengers movie. I just think when people say their are out of ideas that's silly you know.
  9. Serious question. In your opinion how much of the blame lands on Iger and Fiege? I am hopeful that they knew this movie was going to bomb ahead of time, and none of this is a total shock to the company. However, what steps are in motion so that the roller-coaster of fun can start back up the hill again. Sadly I feel most people don't trust Disney/MCU/Star Wars right now, and most wont be blindly going to the see their movies prior to hearing it is good first.
  10. Well when the movie is this bad what else is there to talk about? No good speculation on what happens next for the MCU, and unfortunately that is the new norm. Another dud in the books. I wish we all could be talking about how good it was instead we just get new memes on the cringe musical score from this movie mixed in with the cats.
  11. One last thing on "Killers of the Flower Moon." That movie absolutely shows how you can tell a story that delivers a powerful message without being preachy. Show me the moral lesson without telling me I have to feel that way before hand.
  12. I do think MCU and Disney has gotten the message now. Even if they dont want to course correct they have no choice now. It's time again to "pander" to what the general audience truly wants. Voting with one's wallet creates change, always has.
  13. Now I am not saying you are wrong, but I just remember in the 90's the comic book store I worked at the owner all the time told me LCS's were on borrowed time because Marvel was going to open there own branch of stores (and start going fully digital) and stop distributions all together at the LCS level. He was so paranoid, and yet here were are in 2023 and that still has no happened yet to level he was concerned with.
  14. Here is a good future easy prediction. If Captain America 4 does not star Chris Evans, it's a flop. If MCU/Disney thinks Falcon or the Winter Soldier can carry a movie then here is my answer to each of them. How can anyone believe that a terrible Disney+ show with those 2 characters will then do well on the big screen would just show how out of touch Disney really is.
  15. MCU has never told stories of: X-Men FF Doctor Doom Magneto Silver Surfer Galactus. Just Doctor Doom with Galactus you have the new Loki and Thanos. Now I do agree FF will not be as well received as the Avengers, but the X-Men can make billions over 10-15 years with all their Heroes and Villains. Mix in the Silver Surfer and Galactus becoming the 10-15 year climax villain and you have a couple billion right there to make.
  16. Now thats a movie with an inflated budget and Apple just letting Martin do his thing. The fact that 3.5 hour movie is going to do $100 million should be viewed as amazing. $250 million budget is there downfall. I think it did $40 million compared $47 for The Marvels opening weeken. Comparably speaking that is pathetic.
  17. I think generally everyone here fully understands all the reasons why MCU and Disney have been failing since Avengers: Endgame and the easy and yes I mean 1st grade level easy ways to fix it. If they start giving the fans and general audience the 2008-2019 MCU they will bring most of the magic back to the silver screen. If they keep giving the fans and general audience the 2020-now experience then expect Disney to lose millions more. Again there is no such thing as super hero fatigue, all that is happening is bad storytelling and characters boredom fatigue.
  18. I have seen "Killers of the Flower Moon" three times this month. If there are good movies I would go to the movie theater all the time as would millions of people.
  19. Either way get Kang out of the MCU. It's too far gone now for anyone to even care about this character. Bring on Doctor Doom, Magneto, and the Beyonder. Ants killed Kang and leave it at that.
  20. Universal Studios seems to be doing just fine. Everything Disney has mostly done since Endgame has been a colossal failure, and pandemic did not impact their brains to hire those terrible writers, and use D-level trash characters. Spider-Man No Way Home came out at the height of the pandemic, how did that do? I am very much a front seat driver, most people I know saw this coming from the MCU and Disney years ago from the course they were taking. The Marvels was predicted by thousands of people to be the biggest MCU bomb of all time, and as per usual they were right. As I posted earlier this movie is absolutely the low point for MCU and Disney. I am hoping this is there final wake up call to get back to what made the MCU great or their financial struggles and stock price will continue to decline.
  21. When I was growing up in the 90's as a kid and then as a teenager comics still were the main way I got to know a comic book characters, but also in the mix were the FOX animated cartoons (Spider-man, X-men, etc.), trading cards, toys, and video games with occasional Batman movies. However, comic books were still the main marketing tool for me. I think kids now get introduced more from the movies and video games then the comics. New comics used to be the main introduction for young individuals to the superhero characters, now its just part of the overall marketing campaign. IMO
