  1. The seller must be doing cartwheels right now if he truly doesn't "know much about this item. "
  2. Anyone know who snagged the $5K double spash or the 115 cover?
  3. tease!!! So these pages arrived today... (Pencils and Inks 115, page 2). That's a really cool page! Awesome page!!! All my Ottley art is in a storage unit since my place in SF is so small. I miss it. I get to see it in a few days.
  4. Honestly, life has taken such a crazy, busy turn, I don't even have time to enjoy all of my favorite books anymore. All I read are Invincible and TWD. As for jumping in on prices... I guess I'm perplexed. Back when I sold off a few covers, when I was trying to raise a little cash to move to SF, they sold for peanuts. I'm just curious as to what's changed.
  5. I wonder what my 4-page long gatefold cover to issue 60 would go for if a double page splash went for 5k. Of course, we'll never know. It's not going anywhere. Is Battle Beast on there? Battle Beast adds tens times the normal value! Nope, no Battle Beast
  6. I wonder what my 4-page long gatefold cover to issue 60 would go for if a double page splash went for 5k. Of course, we'll never know. It's not going anywhere.
  7. So.... 5K on that double splash. Snapped up lickity split. Are we going to see a spike in Invincible OA? Or has Ryan hit on a great way to sell his art and drive demand by releasing a page a day?
  8. Marvel should take note: this is what you can do with a hero who's married/in-a-relationship, then throw in a kid and naturally progress the relationship. It's called character development. A big reason why I read absolutely zero Marvel books. Invincible is the sh..
  9. Wow, $1800! I'd be done quick then too. T, your whole story, as inspiring as it is, breaks my heart. You should sell, not buy! I'll meet you at the storage facility with cash! Just kidding. Sorta. Uhhhhhhhh.......... The amount of money it would take to get even one cover away from me wouldn't even be realistic. I already regret selling the ones I did, so the ones I have left are basically with me until the bitter end. I'd buy another, but I think my wife would kill me at this point. Unless I buy her something nice
  10. Nice page Rob! I bought into the Ottley Invincible covers starting in 2007. I bought my first on ebay (#46) for somewhere in the $600 range. Then I bought another, and another, and another... As Ryan got more popular, his prices got hirer. By the end of my buying spree it cost $1,800 to get a cover. That's why I bowed out. I couldn't afford to keep going like I was. I wish I could. My most expensive cover is 60, which I'm sure is pretty obvious. I had 25 covers at one point. Wish I never sold them. I'm sure I'll go on a buying spree again someday. Right now I'm shelling out an enormous amount of money on rent in San Francisco for the next two years while I elevate my career in advertising. I can't wait until the day when I'm in a position to buy more Ottley covers.
  11. Why did he pull his OA off of splashart's website? Does anyone know? I got a cover long ago and am glad I did when I had the chance. Here, here!
  12. I wonder if Image/Kirkman has been pushing Walking Dead too much in past years at cons, and neglected Invincible. It would be interesting to see some market research and get to the root of why people are not aware of Invincible being a Kirkman book.
  13. I'm thinking mostly due to 110, but whatever. #1's are slowly starting to move back up in price Sorry, 110. That's the issue I had in mind.
  14. I feel like the series is seeing a slight uptick in popularity. More and more back issues are disappearing from my LCS, and there's a little more chatter online about the book. Granted a lot of that chatter is due to the events of 111, but hey.
  15. All these posts made me think something popped on eBay... Hence the thread title.
  16. I remember going to SDCC for the very first time in 08 just to see Ryan and get a sketch. I hope Invincible explodes someday like TWD did. Nobody deserves that kind of recognition more than Ryan.
  17. Saw ASM 2 this morning. My wife and I both loved it. I wasn't a big fan of the first, but this one was great. It felt like a set up movie for others to come. There wasn't a whole ton of action, more drama, really. But I love character development. I thought there were subtle things in the movie that were fantastic elements of story telling.
  18. Wow, some of you guys have quite the stock on the #1s. I don't have a single copy of #1. Had it on my pull list, local LCS forgot to put one in, I hadn't the chance to stop in and grab my stash for a month, and there you have it. Can't find one. hopefully I can find one in Seattle when I go to ECC. Just don't want to pay $7 then shipping, making it a $10 book if I don't have to.
  19. Much deserved in my opinion. He is one of the best. But man am I glad I got in on the ground floor with his art. I wish I could buy more but it's more of a decision now. And now I'm married....
  20. I always wanted a splash of Invincible. I went the commission route instead of trying to find a published page for a bunch of reasons. One was price, but the 2nd was so I could ask him for exactly what I wanted. Ryan hooked me up in Baltimore and I couldn't be happier with the piece. Looks just as good as a published page in my opinion. I love it. (thumbs u I posted it earlier in the thread, but now it's been framed. That's an amazing commission. Ryan really has taken his commissions further and further each year. This is mine from 2008 when his commissions were $20. Very cool! One thing I'd say, Ryan's commissions have gotten a little too pricey. I'm amazed by his prices now. How much are they now? Are the "Commission" level pieces $200 or are they more now? Remember the good ol' days when you could get an Adam Hughes commission for $200...
