  1. april sent out a email to everyone that has emailed her before about the last cover they have available. Its $600. I believe it is number 10. Anyone going to snatch it up?
  2. I got one that same year at NY. It was fun, Tony was tying in all of his sketches. They all went together and told a story. One of those was on ebay a while back, kinda wish i got it because it was the sketch right before mine.
  3. Anyone see the cover to Invincible 73 over on Ryans DA page. Its a whole lot of badassery.
  4. I have to admit, I would probably buy a lot more of Charlies art if it wasn't priced so high. There are a couple pieces on Marks site that I would love to own, and could, but I just can't make myself pay those prices. Maybe one day they will come down a bit
  5. anybody been buying any OA from this series lately? I haven't seen much pop up on CAF.
  6. When Chew first started, covers went for about $400. Now I think they are up to $600, so get in and get one now.
  7. I picked this one up from Rob at SDCC this past year. I am definitely ready to add another Chew cover to the wall at some point.
  8. Oops just realized im a hypocrite. The reason why the Invincible cover is my grail is that I am a sucker for romance between characters. I love Ryans art and the stories by Kirkman are amazing, but I also love the interaction between Mark and Eve. When Mary Jane and Peter broke in ASM, I was pissed. I really enjoy that aspect of superhero comics. And in Avatar, I think thats one of the reasons why I enjoyed the movie so much. So yea, the cover embodies everything I enjoy about Invincible and comics all together.
  9. it is interesting to see what everyones grail is, and will be really cool to see what people consider a grail in the next ten years as some of the younger collectors get older. For me, a grail would be more modern stuff since those are the titles and issues that I have grown up reading. I dont think I would appreciate a Ditko Spidey piece as much as I should since I didnt grow up reading those issues. It would be awesome to have one though thats for sure. A grail for me is easy to define, its either a cover from a series I love and follow, like Invincible or the Walking Dead, or a awesome pin up or commission from one of my favorite artists. I love to draw, and enjoy drawing female characters the most, so naturally Adam Hughes would be my favorite. So, anyways, it has been really cool to see what people consider their grail. If I had one SUGGESTION, I would love to know a little more about why all of you consider the piece your grail. Always fun to hear other collectors stories and comments on their pieces.
  10. I have many grails, but i guess one piece I actually have that is a grail to me and that puts a smile on my face everytime I look at it would be this one.
  11. Ryan Ottley has amazing potential to become more popular but it will take more people venturing away from just the big two and reading some other stuff, like Invincible.
  12. Rob was charging $400 when I bought my cover, which was right when he started selling his art. Im guessing its still the same.
  13. This book is really on a roll. Im loving the story and can not wait to see what happens with Nolan and Allen. Ryans art has become better and better with each issue, which is hard to believe since his art is already bad a.ss.
  14. Hey Everyone, I just put up my experience at SDCC in the original art forum. You can check out the scans of all the art I picked up at the show by clicking on the link to my CAF gallery in my signiture, or go here to read about my experience. Rob was such a nice guy, really fun to talk to. I hope this series keeps going and gains readers with every issue. Thanks for checking it out. And here is the cover to Chew #3 Tyler
  15. not me, I did pick up the cover to #3 though
  16. SDCC has been great. Been hanging out with some of the Image guys, Ryan Ottley, cliff rathburn, Jason Howard, and Rob Guillory. Got a great sketch from Rob, Jason, and Cliff. Will be picking up a sketch from Ryan tomorrow. I told all of them "draw whatever you want, just have fun with it.". Can't tell you how excited they all were to hear that. Rob did a great sketch, so did the others. Can't wait to see what Ryan cooks up. I'll post scans when I get home on Sunday.
  17. anyone else going to pick up any chew art?
  18. Is the owner of the cover art to Chew #2 on these boards?
  19. so I for one really enjoy this book, and seeing as the first arc is five issues long, how long do you think this book will go on for? I for one would like to see it go on for a good while. I think they have some fun characters and a great original idea that they can really expand upon. Also, is this going to be sort of like Locke and key where they do six or so issues then there is a brel until the next arc, or will this always be a monthly?
  20. I was also lucky enough to get three copies of number 2, NO WAVES!! Might sub a few
  21. I have no idea why I like this book, but I do, I really, really, do!
