Considering the fact that Steve Ditko was an Objectivist who followed the tenets of Ayn Rand, I think it is unlikely that his artwork will be donated to anyone, His will, if he left one, would probably state what he wants done with his possessions but making a charitable contribution would not be in keeping with his beliefs.

Harry's Marvellous Meanderings through the Comic Book World
Tony D replied to Harry Lime's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
I think Ditko was sending a message to Stan with this cover... KISS MY ! -
R.I.P. Steve Ditko. I am very sad to hear of his death and wish he had given the fans an opportunity to show how much he was appreciated.

Very nice,Kav. Have you ever tried your hand at Uncle Scrooge or Donald Duck?

The figure of Spider-Man was redrawn for this cover by, probably, Marie Severin. The original cover is below. -
I have read many paperback books which contained an ad for other books from the publisher. Do these not qualify for media mail? If the ad is from the publisher, is it alright because it did not generate money for the publisher? If that is the case, then Mad magazine did not accept paid advertisements. Does that exempt them? The ads in old comics are no longer valid. Why should a non valid ad disqualify an old comic book? Just trying to show the absurdity of postal regulations in my own Devil's Advocate way.

Not a precipitous drop but Overstreet dropped the value of Charlton's Thing #16 in NM from $345.00 to $200.00 in 2000 due to a warehouse find of many copies. This also happened to Harvey's Captain 3-D #1 in 1979, when the value of NM copies went from $30.00 to $15.00 due to a warehouse find. -
I compiled a list many years ago but I have no idea how complete or accurate it is. I don't even remember where I got the information. Archie's Joke Book Magazine #41 - 1 page #44 - 1 or 2 pages #45 - 1 or 2 pages #46 - 1 or 2 pages #47 - 1 or 2 pages #48 - 4 pages Adventures Of The Fly #4 - 1 panel

Nice pick up. That's a Bill Ward cover signed as McCartney. -
His art work looks very much like Alex Raymond.

I would have included witzend #1, published in 1966 by Wally Wood. It was the first prozine and attempt to let comics artists publish self owned work.

A significant piece of comic book history is saved...

I got the first issue of The Buyer's Guide or Comic Fandom at a NYC Comic Convention when Alan Light was giving away free copies to try to establish it's presence on the comic book scene. Prior to that, I subscribed to Rocket's Blast Comicollector from which I made many purchases when I was accumulating my collection. -
The OFFICIAL "This week in your ORIGINAL ART collection?"
Tony D replied to mister_not_so_nice's topic in Original Comic Art
I find it unbelievable that no one on this board has commented on this Ditko Spider-Man page. It is a beautiful page with Spidey in action in every panel. What does it take to impress the board members? -
Secret Agent was shown in the USA by local stations who bought the syndicated series. It morphed into The Prisoner series which was also in syndication in the USA. By the way, Jack Kirby did an adaptation of The Prisoner which unfortunately never saw print. You can check it out here http://www.forcesofgeek.com/2014/03/read-jack-kirbys-prisoner.html

Defending and critiquing art should there be rules??
Tony D replied to Michaeld's topic in Original Comic Art
I like the technique the artist used to execute the painting but the image itself is not evocative of the accepted body type for Batman. It looks like a squat Ron Perlman in a Batman costume.
