:cloud9: Nice book STEVE!! Now you need a Joe Hill sig... like this one...

how many double sigs are there out there ?.. I'd sure like to have one!

According to the census, there are three 9.9s, 24 in 9.8 and 1 in 9.6 (and whatever has been graded recently like Steve's books). When L&K first started up - Hill and Rodriguez were going to cons together signing so I would imagine a good portion of them are double signed. I have a 9.8 signed by Hill and Rodriguez also.

  2. Attention all L&K fans!

This evening after 7 pm, I am holding a New England Gothic-style auction (which basically means FREE for the cost of mailing). TWO of the slabs offered may be of interest to you. (and no, one of them isn't the Special Edition #1 variant cover). :)

Thread was activated and one non-L&K slab already posted this a.m.

  3. Thanks for the warm welcomes, guys. I'm actually working on the Anywhere Key tag art tonight. I have the next two keys in the works already (Shadow and one still to be announced for February), but I'd love to hear what keys you guys are hoping to see.

Again, any ideas, questions, or issues, please drop us a line.

Welcome Israel! All Locke & Key fans find their way to this forum sooner or later! We Love Your Work!

  4. Can't wait to submit this bad-boy too.

The embossed area is off center by an inch.

I believe this is the first L & K "error" copy to this series that has been caught. hm

Awesome stuff Jerel, let us know what the label denotes when you get it back (thumbs u

Also, could you give me a heads up when CoS hardcover comes out, I need to add it to my signed editions you sent me :cloud9:

Yep! I'll be interested to know how CGC denotes it also. It's really hard to get an error copy out of them sometimes... My two extra #5s are "normal"

  5. I just checked out eBay.com, are #1 first prints really fetching $50 upwards or are some sellers just wishful thinkers?

I think Mile High is the only seller that has a #1 first print raw for $74.99... my graded 9.8 copy has an offer that I am going to accept shortly.

I really should have checked out the seller shouldn't I? doh!

I'm absolutely useless at raw prices, I was just doing some checking as somebody asked me if I have a spare #1 first print, which I do, and had no idea how much they were fetching now.

Considering it's a sure-fire 9.8 (possibly higher) I'm going to go top end, I just don't know what hat is lol

Don't sell yourself short. Interest has really peaked in L&K in the past month and I suspect it will just get higher. Maybe grade it? By the time you get it back, the timing should be just right. :)

  6. Hey Cheryl,

I just wanted to say I got your back with this difficult to grade book. These are two nice 9.8 Signed Editions(most were treated poorly in delivery). So, don't waste your money on a possible bad one on eBay.

SWEET! I haven't purchased one yet. You're the MAN Jerel (and a great friend!) :whee:

  7. Yep - Barrington - great guy... He's upped his price $200 in the past few months but that is a NICE set. :) Included in that set is the #1 Welcome to Lovecraft signed edition which - if you purchased it in 9.8 instead of submitting it yourself - you paid upwards of $250 just for that one...it's a rare one to find (even as a GLOD) and Barrington is the only one that has them for sale I believe.

  8. Driving back from Cleveland yesterday, decided to stop at a flea market along the way. Last row, selling out of his truck, found a man selling his comic collection. Not all in fabulous condition but I couldn't beat the price. Lots of DC 10 and 12 centers, number 1s still available, Dell 10 cents, didn't even get to the X-Men and FFs. But he told me as I was looking that the X-men #1 and FF #1 were already gone.

Hand picked what I had cash for - approximately 40 comics - spent $120. Below are three representative samples.

He wouldn't take a check so I got his name and number - he said he would be back next week but call him first. I'll be there, ready to buy this time.
