Well, except for those of us who think it should be... Marvel Preview 7 - 'First Appearance of Rocket Raccoon' Summer 1976 IH 271 - 'Second Appearance of Rocket Raccoon' May 1982 My point is Marvel Preview #7 is the first appearance, although a magazine. Some people pimp IH #271 as the first comic book appearance of Rocket Raccoon (with a cover appearance). However, MP #7 is more valuable. Yet Marvel Super Special #16 (magazine) is the first appearance of Boba Fett, but Star wars #42 is more valuable. The same logic does not apply. Yes, the market will decide, but sometimes the "rules" are as clear cut as you think. This surprises you why? Logic in our hobby is a purple unicorn...

Picked these up on a recent business trip to Alabama at a place called 2nd and Charles (??). Awesome store. Basically a nostalgia nut's fantasy land...old comics, video games, records, legos, books, etc.

Completely agree. Even speculation of a character appearing in a show or movie is driving speculation...

Is it any less of a "key" then Strange Tales 110 ? 1st true appearance of Dr. Strange, a soon-to-be major Marvel silver screen icon vs. 1st SILVER AGE appearance of Hawkgirl...who is appearing as a team member on a CW television series I tend to lean to "minor" key, but key nevertheless... I think BB#34 will certainly see a bump. If the HAWKS show up on the big-screen, add in another bump.

Just finished episode #6. This show rocks! Gritty and real enough to appeal to a mass audience and keep to the source material at the same time. Love that they did this on Netflix! Looking forward to the rest of season 1.

My Valiant Unity/Image Comics began the Chromium Age of comics... I'd consider pre-Unity Valiant the tale end of the Copper Age.

Hey, I've been hyping Power-man 24 as an "undiscovered gem" for a while now. And WTF is all this "Origin of XXX" BS? It's the first appearance of Black Goliath, no question, yet CGC seems to want to give "Origin" to any older books with pre-existing hero (or even normal) characters. With Modern ones, it's always "First Appearance of XXX" (to let comic shops/member firms hype the readily-available books) like the idiotic "First Appearance of Winter Soldier" (ummmm, Bucky's been around for decades). Winter soldier is the same as bucky in the exact same way Him is the same as warlock. FF #66 then is the first appearance of warlock. huh? He's trying to say they are completely different characters. Like the 1st appearance of Carol Danvers isn't the same as the 1st appearance of Ms. Marvel. Like the 1st appearance of Jim Rhodes isn't the same as the 1st appearance of War Machine. Like the 1st appearance of Hank Pym isn't the 1st appearance of Ant-Man ;^)
