  1. So, I'm a fan of Art Baltazar and Franco Aureliani of "Tiny Titans," "Billy Batson and the Power of Shazam!," and "Superman Family Adventures" fame. A few months ago, they had a Kickstarter for a new comic series - Aw Yeah Comics! One perk was a page from a story in issue 0 - their digital only issue. In my case, I got a page from Franco's Polar Cycle story that features Action Cat, Adventure Bug, and Polar Cycle. It's Polar Cycle's origin. Also, I put the full cast of characters in the Additional Image section for reference. Anyway, check it out. It might make you smile. BTW, I have another perk coming - a painting of Action Cat by Art! Aw Yeah Comics! #0 - Polar Cycle page 4 by Franco (click image to embiggen) I have a number of other new-ish pieces - it's been a busy couple of months. MLPs as the Avengers by Thom Zahler - http://cafurl.com?i=20451 Hero by Mark Texeira - http://cafurl.com?i=20452 MG Cast by Joe Eisma - http://cafurl.com?i=20453 City of Bones #2 p17,18 by Bernie Wrightson - http://cafurl.com?i=20454 Princess Celestia by Andy Price - http://cafurl.com?i=20455 Cindy by Chrissie Zullo - http://cafurl.com?i=20456 GA WW vs.SA SG by Aaron Lopresti - http://cafurl.com?i=20457
  2. Now updated with a key that explains who is who. Click to embiggen. Thanks to a boardie for the help.
  3. This MLPs as the Avengers piece from Thom Zahler belongs to my daughter - really, it's true. The fact that I'm posting it for her shortly after posting an Andy Price pony piece does not mean I'm a Brony. Seriously! Stop that snickering. Here's the art:
  4. I went to the Dallas Fan Days and came back with more than I expected. The trip report is here. Click to embiggen. Hero by Mark Texeira Hero is from Mark's Kickstarter - A Hero's Death. City of Others Book 2 Pages 17 and 18 by Bernie Wrightson This was the first collaboration between Bernie Wrightson and Steve Niles. Cast of Morning Glories - Part 2 More of the cast of Morning Glories drawn into Vol. 2 of the Deluxe Hardcover.
  5. I picked up three pieces that I can show at the Rose City Comic Con in Portland, OR. Click the images to embiggen. I posted a trip report on these boards here and on Facebook (with pictures). With no further delay, I give you: GA Wonder Woman vs. SA Supergirl Cinderella (from Cinderella - Fables are Forever) by Chrissie Zullo Princess Celestia by Andy Price My brother and my LCS manager both say that I'm now a brony. I say no, I just have a theme - artists and the characters I associate them with. Thoughts?
  6. I got the 1 of 25 signed and numbered Houston print (my home town) and bought the OA in an auction for the Hero Initiative. They look good together. Part of the OA are done in Photoshop and printed on the board - the structural pieces and a lot of the curves. The figures and other parts are hand work.
  7. Congrats on the Zahler find; I too really like his work and this Hostess Twinkie riff is classic Thom. You are right about his original hand work; it is scarce though he's doing more hand work to sell at cons - covers and splashes mostly. My real question is, "Are the cookies good?"
  8. I agree. He does excellent work (like this one!).
  9. Not as cool as a similar pile of Micronauts, but cool none the less. Complete books or just random pages?
  10. At Rose City Comic Con, writer Andy Mangel's drew a sketch beside his name so that I could shame artists at the show into doing the same.
  11. That a whale of a nice whale. I have to disagree, I think that whale blows! Let's agree that it's a whale of a whale blowing.
  12. You are probably right about that. You are correct - every day and on a bus!
  13. He does beautiful work, but what amazes me are: 1) He can do it on a bus! 2) The drawing are odd (in a good way) - how does he think them up? That one with the legs and tentacles was excellent.
  14. I agree. The Loki story line was excellent. I'm enjoying the Sif story, too.
  15. I like it! Now, setup a Comic Art Fans gallery at http://www.comicartfans.com. and it won't be long until you want your second hit.
  16. I've shown these on other threads, but for completeness, I'll list them here, too. First, Legion of Super-Heroes by Agnes Garbowska Next, Molly Danger vs. Supergirl by Jamal Igle
  17. Kathy really surprised me this time. In addition to the items we bought at Heroes Con (see below), she also arranged a commission for me for Father's Day / Birthday. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. It's the Legion of Super-Heroes vs. the Fatal Five in all out battle. Well, sort of. I have the best wife! Beautiful, smart, kind, and willing to go to comic cons and buy comic art! In addition to this gift, we also picked up some pieces at Heroes Con 2013: Clark by Yale Stewart Molly Danger vs. Supergirl by Jamal Igle Mutts by Patrick McDonnell Here's all the art, you can click on it to leave a comment in the CAF. Legion of Super-Heroes by Agnes Garbowska Clark by Yale Stewart Molly Danger vs. Supergirl by Jamal Igle Mutts by Patrick McDonnell
  18. Just did the other day. But it just makes me want more! Totally! We should have a Check Out This Awesome Thing I Have!!! thread... If you start it I will play Done! Now play.
