  1. That is one Strange collection of wall art! Congratulations.
  2. Selling the inks separately is okay, but take the time to write a note on the back explaining that the work is ink over blue lines so that later buyers will know what they are getting - art used to print - and what they are not getting - pencils and inks on the same page. BTW, I have one piece where I found the pencils and inks in separate towns quite by accident. I bought the inks first and then found the pencils. Click to embiggen:
  3. I forgot to mention this not to mention I forgot to post it. Amazing Grace from the Catalyst Comix run written by Joe Casey and published by Dark Horse. Click to embiggen:
  4. Okay, you know the drill - an artist that I like doing the character that I associate with him. In this case, it's Action Cat by Art Baltazar. I was a perk from the Kickstarter for his comic Aw Yeah! Comics. I'm VERY happy with it. The colors are much brighter in person; I may retake the picture. Check it out. It should make you smile. Keep an eye out for a comic mini-series teaming Captain Action Cat with Action Cat from Dark Horse. It's due this month. Also, I got my Hero Initiative sketch card - Super-Adaptoid by Chris Ivy:
  5. I bought the cover art to an Archie Andrews, Where Are You? comic by Dan DeCarlo. I wanted the look of the completed cover so I had Chris Ivy create an overlay to carry the logos and other material. He did a great job. You can see the before (Additional Image), after (main image), and printed cover (Additional Image) by clicking the image below:
  6. First, more Yale Stewart. If you don't read JL8, you are missing a treat [78K+ followers can't be wrong, right? ]. This example of his art and humor comes from Valentine's Day. Yale did a set of gift tag wallpapers and I liked them enough to buy the OA. You can read the strip here Second, I've become a fan of David Wright's Carol Day strip and bought this example - I consider it to have a prototype of the Punisher's costume.
  7. Themes? Did you say themes? Check out this blog post for themes! It needs updating, but ...
  8. I really like this. Dan is a great guy. He did this for my daughter's graduation. She's teaching B&V how to ride.
  9. I picked up a Carol Day Strip a week or three ago and forgot to mention it. David Wright was a wizard with a brush. Everything was roughed in pencil and then painted/inked. Amazing work. I like it a lot. Heck, it even features the Punisher (or at least an insect version.
  10. Lovely pieces, Dan, but you know that I think that.
  11. I'm with Scott and the FGD guy. I'd take FGD page over the 1st Red Sonja appearance - not that I'm likely to ever be in that situation. I like pretty pictures by the guys that mean something to me. So, my ranking is: Creator Character Image Emotional response in that order, I think.
  12. A little OT, I guess, but a story from the Boston Comic Con. Herb Trimpe was there signing and chatting. I'm a fan (the Hulk / Jarella story especially) so I spent a little time with him about a commission he'd done for me. As I was walking away, a kid in a Wolverine outfit was standing around and I mentioned that the artist that created him was a few feet away. The kid shrugged.
  13. PM sent. I have a standard answer to this frequent question.
  14. Nick Pitarra, a native Houston now in Austin, was signing at the Bedrock City Comic Company store on FM1960 on Saturday. I got there late because of other commitments, but he was willing to draw this for me. Yes, I have a drawing of the stars of the new "buddies" book - Einstein and Feynman! Yes, the duo that will replace Lewis and Martin, Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy is now resident at my house!
  15. At the rate you are adding art you will need a new portfolio by the end of the month! Really nice gift, congrats.
  16. What! Are you going to buy all of Carmine's pages from his return to the Flash?
