  1. What really stood out to me was the way the step sons lied to her. She seemed to love them, but the reverse was not true. Sad. Of course, the stolen Nazi art is an even larger problem. I suspect that they have a pile and I hope it is brought to light.
  2. Which leads to one of my favorite words - historicity - which is defined as "historical authenticity." That's what we buy when we buy the original and not a recreation (forgery). It's an interesting concept when applied to something that is "so well (done -aj) that no one can tell if it’s original or not." What is that worth? Clearly a lot.
  3. Glen, Here's the full story as I reconstructed it from many conversations posted to this board. I also have this as a MS Word file.
  4. That is marvelous. Thanks for sharing. I would not have been clever enough to have asked even though I had something similar happen. I lost a charity auction hosted by Metropolis Comics (Vincent Zurzolo) for a Joe Kubert commission. I was the underbidder. Vincent reached out a day or so later and said if I'd match the winner's bid, Joe would do one for me. I accepted immediately!
  5. I cited this thread recently and reread it. I realized that it was left on a cliffhanger. “How well did the Bros. price the cover?” I wondered. The answer? Albert Moy was a little high and Los Bros were way off the market price. The Donnelly price: $11,000 The Moy price: $8000 The Heritage price including BP: $7200
  6. I thought so, but I couldn't find it. My search technique needs improvement, I guess.
  7. I wouldn't buy one; I'd buy the comic. If he can make money selling them, I wish him the best. I'm very grateful that he has the disclaimer - hope it's not cut off when placed on eBay.
  8. I met him once. Seemed like a nice guy October Country, New Paltz, NY 2012-03-10
  9. I had to look it up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Bartowski
  10. Rudy is the ONLY artist that I've heard say that they enjoy drawing Jack. That's one complex costume.
  11. Good point on USPS delivery from Canada. I still wonder why Heritage doesn't have the packages held at the PO.
  12. I don't understand why Heritage doesn't have the PO hold it in the first place. I also don't understand why large consignments aren't sent USPS Priority Registered if using USPS.
  13. Some sad Jeff Smith news from his FB page.
  14. I own that book and I don't remember the cameo. I'm old!
  15. Here you go. Facebook has a large number of groups that address comic art both published and commissioned. You can always ask on those groups for opinions. 16. Now it can be told! Once more, my daughters' inheritance has shrunk. Yes, I bought another commission. This one is from the very talented Kerry Callen and features the Golden Age Red Tornado, the first of the pot headed superheroes! Step aside Forbush Man and Fat Man! All the details can by seen by clicking the image. Yes, you may have seen this posted by Kerry and shared by me because I thought it was cool and because I FORGOT that i'd commissioned it. Sigh... Old age isn't for the weak.
  17. Yes, I do. It's my favorite character and my favorite artist. It was the first one into the collection and it would be the last out. Click the image to learn how I came to own it.
  18. The last of my HeroesCon 2023 purchases has arrived. Many thanks to Jeremy Bastian for nailing my request. I have Cursed Pirate Girl and a Pirate Ship for her, but I didn't have a place for her to call home so I asked for a port city. It's a perfect example of Jeremy's talent and inventiveness. You really should read Cursed Pirate Girl! https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1944785
