  1. Scott wrote that the default is Spider-man and that there are very limited numbers of others (5-10?).

You have to write them and ask. You can't specify it on the order form (unless I missed it).

The images that JR drew (wish I new how to scale them down a bit):

  2. In my never ending quest to acquire pieces by the artists I enjoy doing the characters I most associate them with, I have long had Frank Brunner on my list.

The bad news is that he retired before I got to him.

The good news is that he's not real good at retirement!

Kathy started working with him in the spring for this piece and I think he really came through.

  3. Probably not of high interest by most of those on the board, but Stan Lynde's Rick O'Shay was one of my favorite strips. I commissioned him to create a Christmas scene with the main cast, but I've wanted an original as well. I found this on eBay and pounced.

    Merry Christmas to all!

  4. My youngest (21) mentioned in passing that she'd like some Winnie the Pooh art for Christmas. I immediately thought of Mike DeCarlo and I'm glad that I did.

After a bit of negotiation, we settled on a scene with Tigger running away with Pooh's Hunny Jar. I think he really did a great job and wanted to give a shout out for the great work, quick turnaround, and reasonable rates.

Give Mike a chance, you'll love the results. His e-mail is in the description

BTW, don't tell Rebecca about this. It's a surprise! DeCarlo,%20Mike%20-%20Winnie%20the%20Pooh%20and%20Tigger,%20Too%20(color).jpg

  5. I completely agree with Hari. The art in my gallery is a reasonable collection as "art," it's real value comes from the context that comes with it.

Lots of people can draw Sgt. Rock or Superman well, but only Kubert and Swan do it their way because only they drew the stories that I loved so much.

When combined with a narrative, you really build on the "value."

  6. I don't know "art," but I know that:

    1) I think Lichtenstein should have credited his sources.

    2) I think David Barsalou has a great site

    3) I think his auction win of the Overgard Steve Roper is news worthy

So, I have captured the eBay winning page as follows:

    1) The winning bid page from eBay

    2) The enlarged image from eBay

    3) A JPG of the art
