  1. I like Loston's work and this is a very nice example. It has a real Silver Age Infantino cover layout feel. Keep posting.
  2. I think it's a crying shame that Lichtenstein gets all this praise given that he lifted and - to my eye, at least - did not enhance the work of others. Marketing kings indeed.
  3. That may be my favorite Suicide Squad piece so far. It's a lot of fun.
  4. I had Chris Ivy create an overlay for my Dan DeCarlo "Archie Andrews, Where Are You?" cover. It's on a clear overlay attached to the original with an easily removed tape. It's not framed yet, but that's the way that I'll frame it. Chris was fast and reasonably priced. He's very reliable based on my experience and on the number of times I've seen him used for commissions by Michael (OML guy) Finn. Hope this helps.
  5. Thom Zahler of Love and Capes (LnC) does prints for each show he attends featuring the Crusader and Abby flying around landmarks of the various cities. Below are some of the sites he's picked - maybe they will inspire you. BTW, Thom's LnC is wonderful and these all feature those characters and style. He did a recreation for me that I really enjoy - quick, talented, and (for now) inexpensive compared to lots of folks. His style does vary based on the requested subject.. Mid-Ohio-Con New York. Detroit Cincinnati (featuring the JLA's Hall of Justice, more or less) Baltimore Atlanta
  6. If you are his FB friend, you can send a FB message to him.
  7. That 101 piece is amazing. I'm surprised you hand hasn't cramped permanently and that your eyes still work. Whatever you charged for it is not enough. Great work. PS. This is the best thread on the board.
  8. Flicker! Put them on the CAF! Send me the scans and I'll open the account for you and post 'em.
  9. I have to admit that this is one of my very favorite threads to read. Wonderful work - every piece makes me smile.
  10. I'm a long-term LSH fan; I received my first Adventure featuring the Legion 46 years ago (more or less) while in the hospital during the 3rd grade. I was hooked. I've been lucky enough to get LSH images from a number of the best Legion artists: Al Plastino Curt Swan Dave Cockrum Michael (Mike Nasser) Netzer and now I have another great one - Mike Grell. My wonderful wife chose to commission Mike for my 55th birthday and he really delivered. Check it out here. or scroll down
  11. Your link is to your CAF page; not to the image itself. You need to: 1) Right click on the image in your CAF page 2) Choose "Copy Image URL" 3) Paste that between the two HTML commands Voila!
  12. Glad you guys like it. I'm pretty pleased. Got one more coming - my birthday present.
  13. New Art Day for me! I have wanted a "real" Infantino Elongated Man piece to go with my Adam Strange and The Silver Age Flash sketches. I haven't see many, if any, of the pages from the backup Elongated Man stories in Detective, but Mike Burkey did have this on his site recently. As soon as I saw it, I laid claim and now it's in my hands. Justice League of America #200 P37, a one page battle scene of the Flash racing uphill against the Elongated Man - 11x17. If I can find a reasonably priced Infantino Batman, I think I'll frame the four of them together. Anyway, check it out here and leave a comment. There's some interesting "warm-up" inking on the back which I show in the Additional Images section of the CAF page. For the link impaired, here's the picture:
  14. It's easy enough assuming you have it posted on-line somewhere like ComicArtFans In your browser, go to the "somewhere" and right click on the image. You will get a choice in the contextual menu that says something like "Copy image URL". Select "Copy image URL" Come to the Collector's Society Original Art Forum. Select your thread of interest. Go to the reply box. Select "Switch to Full Reply Screen" Click on the third icon from the left above the box. If you hover your pointer over it, the tool tip will say "Enter an image" Paste the URL into the box Click on "OK" Click on "Preview Post" to see what you have done. If you like it, hit "Submit." If not, correct and retry. You'll see the instructions embedded in your message which means that you can memorize them and avoid the switch to the "Full Reply" screen. And one just because I like it, here's one of mine. Consider being forced to look at it as the cost of the lesson. You can read about how I ended up with the front and back cover of this Sheldon Mayer treasure by clicking here
  15. Terrific piece - classic fanboy zombie! What more could you want from a dead geek? By the way, right click on the CAF image, choose Copy Image URL, switch to the boards, choose the Reply, click on "Switch to Full Reply Screen", click on the third icon from the left, paste to populate the URL field, hit return and you are done. For example, see this: Alternatively, you can use the "[", img, "]" and "[" "/img" ']" tags directly with the path in the middle. Speed-D taught me this trick.
  16. The original.. Very nice work. I'm enjoying these. Keep 'em coming.
  17. Al is doing commissions. He mostly does recreations and they are wonderful. Here's mine (there's contact info in the description). All was great to work with: My mom sent me an article yesterday saying Joe Simon is still doing commissions. I don't have his contact information, but a Simon romance cover recreation featuring Steve Rogers with the Cap shield in the background would be very nice.
  18. Okay, I've added the second piece to my CAF so for you Colon/Rubinstein fans (Romain, that's you!) here's my second Colon/Rubinstein piece. It was a gift from Joe; his inks over Ernie's pencils. Oh, you don't want to click a link? Okay, here's the picture: I hope you enjoy these two. I know that I do.
  19. I have a new addition to the family - Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld. Ernie Colon has recreated the cover and Joe Rubinstein inked it. Not the easiest piece in the world for Ernie, but he did a great job. I'm pretty sure that I had a major crush on her back in the day. Click here to read all about it or to comment on the piece. You can contact Ernie on Facebook . His daughters maintain the page and are quite friendly. Finally, for those that are link challenged (and you know who you are), here's the image: I have another that I'll post in a couple of days - also Amethyst, Colon, and Rubinstein.
  20. It's a really nice piece. Very dynamic and very, very true to what the next scene would be. I can see this being Cap's intended move and I really enjoyed the change in perspective. Nice one.
