This has recently moved to my "I think CGC is especially hard on this book" list. Mine came back 8.0 & this one looks like the spine ticks break color (I don't see breaks on mine), so 7.5/8.0. If I'm wrong about CGC being hard, 8.0/8.5

100% they are. The copies that I've submitted came back anywhere from 8.5-9.6. If you covered the grades of them all and lined them side by side, you would not be able to pick out the differences. Doesn't help they gave notes on a 9.2 where those issues were not on any of the books. The 8.5 I cracked out and resubbed and came back a 9.2.

Yeah - but did you get the scans to use? I don't think they are liftable off the CGC Verification page, but I may just be technologically challenged.

Interesting. You are able to long press on your phone and open in new tab and can save the full image. But through the website, you get a copyright notice when trying to right click on the image. Do you usually get the images sent to you through email? Never choose that feature before.

  3. Thanks for the reply. yeah I knew the cut off/sign date thing. Just wanted to make sure that since it was showing the status was ccs, that it would still be in the system before the cutoff date for the signing and not show up in the system as received by cgc afterwards and not be eligible for the signing even though it was there weeks in advance.

  4. Had my books sent in to ccs for the David Michelinie signing and it is still showing received at ccs under my status after a month or so and the cutoff date for his signing is tomorrow. Was just wondering how long it takes for these to show up for recieved at cgc and if they are considered there even though they show at ccs still. Hope I don't miss his signing on my books because they're not at cgc yet. Thank you.

Mine was delivered on the 28th first thing in the morning and here I still wait for it to be entered into the system while I see others that had theirs delivered 3-4 days after mine go to SFG and some already have had theirs shipped. Fun times at CGC.

Yours get in the system today? Just looked and mine are in sfg now.

Yeah, another day passed for me. I looked and mine was on the 30th even. If there isn't a shipped status by next thursday the complaining starts since I paid for fast tracking and that will give the 10 business days (I don't really count the day it was delivered).

    I'm official now:

    25 Modern Slow Prescreen

    Shipped: 3/29

    Delivered : 3/31

    Received: 4/7

    SFG: 4/7

That gives me some hope. Mine was also delivered on the 31st but nothing yet. Hopefully by the end of the day. Came here looking for this thread as I knew calling wouldn't really help open my stuff any faster as I'm sure they'd have to dig through all the other boxes there if anything was done at all.

  8. Yep a lot of his popular books dropped onto the market but I also see this as another reason for me to get the books he signed, signed by other people. Yes its a gamble sending it back in to cgc for them to crack it instead of me being meticulous in how I do my own cracking, but Ill take solace in knowing that book will then be more unique in the field of millions of todd only books. Sent my 9.4 asm 300 in for the michelinie signing but I'm not holding my breath for it to come back same grade even with the "insurance" of them pressing it too. So, I could be lucky and get it back same grade or it'd take a hit. All a gamble and Im not very good at gambling. lol

I'm not too sure about this, you could read the terms of your signing carefully and maybe they'll say.  Or dig around the CGC website.  I would have thought there'd be an option while you're filling out the form.   I know you've emailed with no response but perhaps consider calling them or posting in the "ASK CGC" section of these chat boards.

But what I would say, is that it's almost certainly nothing to worry.  At worst they'd call you and get your permission to crack the slab and charge $5 (assuming they have your credit card on file).  It would be insane for them to reject your submission outright once they've already received your book, your money, and your permission, and your  paperwork.

Forgot to respond back here. The $5 charge(s) is when they get the book(s) into the system so there wasn't anything missed when I went through the submission thankfully.

    This is correct.

You do not have to send in a window bag.  Part of the $5 slab cracking fee will get you a CGC window bag.  Those are fine.  BUT then you don't really get to pick where the sig goes.  But its fine, no rule against, they won't punch your book in the armpit and set it on fire.

Or you could provide your own window bag (and board) for them to use.

OR you could crack your own slab (assuming its not a yellow label slab), save $5 and put it in your own window bag in the comfort and safety of your own home, and mail it off ready to go and minimize the touching CGC does to your comic.

Is the $5 fee added on at the time of acceptance/grading etc? I subbed a couple already slabbed signed books but didn't see anything about adding the fee at the time of my submission when i was going through the process.

So, I have been speaking with management about the 2 week window for ME's.  I do have some good news.  This pertains to all books.  You do not have to be the submitter, and there is no time limit.  You can fill out a submission form with the Mechanical Error option.  A prepaid shipping label will automatically be sent to you.  (Non US customers will have to contact customer service for the shipping label)  We will fix books listed below for free in the "Fix for no charge" column.

     FIX NO CHARGE:

    Wrong label information

    Book inserted wrong

Book pinched between inner well seal

    Debris inside holder

    REHOLDER/REPAIR FEE:

    Holder scratches

    Cracked/damaged holders

    Damaged books

    Cracked/Damaged Holders*

If it was possibly done in shipping/slipped through in the shipping dept or has that just changed in the past month? Had a cracked holder come in and contacted customer service and they had me resub with a mechanical error  no charge.

Oh, I’m so excited!! This SS event is my first submission to CGC. Sent two books - Spawn 228 and Batman 423. I requested a Remarque on the Batman, just to fill in the missing color on the upper-left side of moon behind Batman (around 10 o’clock) . It started driving me crazy once I noticed it. It’s even outlined.  My fingers are crossed SO hard that he grants my request. 🤞🤞🤞 I wonder if that will be a unique Remarque? 🤔

Hmmm, I would probably just left it as is. Unless the yellow is all redone, it might look even more out of place since it'd be a different color yellow with possible red bleed through. Would be interested to see what it looks like if he does it for you though.

  13. Be careful with reholders. Sent one in because I had a slab cracked in one corner in shipment and the book came back in worse condition than it left. Was originally a 9.8 but they put a finger bend in the cover. contacted them about what I can do to get the slab fixed as, being new to submitting, never had to do such a thing. Got it all packed up and sent it out for the reholder under ME and comes back with spine ticks and scuffs on the inner plastic holder. Still came back a 9.8 as I heard they don't typically regrade, but the book would never have gotten that grade if I sent it in like that as my original submission. Unless its a sig series book that I cant just crack myself, any further need of a reholder I'm just cracking myself and paying to get regraded. If the company that does the grading cant open one of their cases the right way without damaging the contents, I cant trust them to do it the right way the next time I may need to have a reholder. Will just crack and resubmit instead.

  14. After my first submission trying to find a way to get home to sign for it and cant just couldn't reroute like a normal thing everyone else does, I found that for any further submissions I can just use the address of my local fedex store near my work and have everything sent there for pickup.
