3.0 here
-
I’d say it’s around a 3.0
-
8.0 has some indentions as well.. looks like it was $3.00 at some point. C&P for higher if they can get those out
-
This looks like a 5.5
-
9.0 maybe better

Great candidate for cleaning and pressing .. I will say 7.5 - people C&P brand new books trying to get that 9.8 (no criticism there) but this is perfect reason for the service to get a book like this back to newsstand condition
-
I’m gonna say 9.2. Has a couple issues on the back but what I love is the cover is so purely white .. not stains or discolorations.. that is really tough.. the back is very clean and nice as well.. being a black cover it would show creases and general wear but there isn’t much there either.

8.0 here

6.5 to 7.0

4.0 to 4.5 as is. Don’t know how effective the C&P will be … maybe get to 5.0 or just make sure you get that 4.5. I noticed the pin up is loose. Do you know if that is the original that came with that book? Could be an issue.. just thinking ahead.. I sent some books to CGC a few went to CSS the one that was under the standard Tier ($1000) value cost $70 to clean and press is back to CGC and awaiting grading.. within 2 weeks. The others under economy are at CSS and are still sitting. Hope that helps

Yeah I wondered about that
Im *assuming* there’s nothing to be done about it and now that’s it’s tan it’s stuck like that but
Is there?
Not sure I’d necessarily do it given the fact I don’t have resale in mind, but since I’m a relative ignorant, I defer to those of you who know so much more
No unfortunately… paper deteriorates over time and how it’s exposed to the elements. It sucks because every comic has the clock ticking before it falls apart. Even comics 20 years old that were stored badly can crumble in your hands. If you’re careful they can last hundreds of years. That’s why some collectors go wild for white pages. In my opinion tho that’s why our hobby is so great. Comics vary so greatly in quality and they have to be handled carefully and treasured. That’s why we are here on this feed to be able to be as accurate as we can in determining what we have as a collectible

Damn, I mean I came here for the straight answer and sure got it
When I bought it, it was marked “fn/fn-“ which is closer to a 6 than a 4.5 but it’s fine
I’m not super bummed since it was never going up for sale and just meant for my pc, but I guess somebody overestimated the overall condition 😐
Would a good clean and press do much for it?
At least push it more into the 5-5.5 range?
I know cleaning and pressing isn’t magic and can’t work miracles, but maybe could brighten it up?
Or is it just not worth it for a 4.5 which makes it like a $10 raw book and a clean/press would literally cost more than the book is worth 😔
For me the reason I went low was the tanning …paper quality looks low .. that combined with the other defects. It could grade a little higher maybe 4.5.
