  1. @The Man Without Beer There are other bugs still in the queue to be resolved and one of those is making changes (set descriptions, pictures) to sets. The other is the inability to create new Competitive sets. We're expecting resolution to these soon.
  2. @Daffaholic You should have been able to add new books not in your inventory to established Custom sets as of yesterday. I tested your account specifically with this and had success. The bug affecting creation of new Competitive sets and making changes to Competitive sets is still outstanding. I am updating this thread as I get information directly at the top.
  3. @pmpknface Thank you for this information. I will be including this information for the developers to use in their work. I am hoping that the Custom set bug is resolved with today's release. I'll keep everyone updated.
  4. @Sweet Lou 14 I think in this instance with so many participants with high completion rates titling it '66-'69 makes the most sense, particularly since adding the heavy hitters would be a pretty significant move. The name change has been done.
  5. @Sweet Lou 14 I'm a little perplexed by this set. It was built before I began working on the Registry. The date range is fine for Silver Age. But I cannot see any reason to exclude the major #1's from that era. Were you looking to add those books to that set?
  6. @Elder of the Universe I can assist with this. I'll send you a PM. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
  7. @JoshuaM This is a known bug that has been reported. It is being resolved by our developers but it is taking some time. There is a dedicated thread at the top of the Registry forum where I will update everyone with any information I receive.
  8. @BatmanAdventures Hi there - welcome to the Registry! We're happy to have you. Please use the link in the following thread to access the form used to request a New Set or a slot to be added to an existing set. Prior to doing so, you can familiarize yourself with the updated set guidelines, and if you need help with using the form there is also an instructional thread. Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any questions!
  9. @Daffaholic @ChasA These are part of the known bugs that have been reported. Resolution is coming and I will update this thread as soon as it's all fixed.
  10. @JohnnyFinUtah This should be resolved shortly.
  11. @Grayarea That set exists already on the Registry. In the future, if you wish to request a set that is not present, please use the New Set & Slot Request form. There are also instructions for use within the Registry forum thread.
  12. @grendel013 Unfortunately, yes. Again, I realize it is more work and I certainly do not want this to be the case, but until the bugs are fixed this is the situation. If you need a Competitive set to be created I'm happy to do it, just submit the request through the new form.
  13. All - I've been made aware of several bugs and wanted to let everyone know that the following have been reported. We're unsure if these bugs are affecting everyone or if they're isolated to a specific block of users. - Unable to add books to Custom sets that are not already in a Competitive set (inventory) - Unable to edit/add Set Names/Descriptions in Competitive sets - Unable to create new Competitive sets (message given contains "must give people ID") - Failed adds deleting images from Custom sets. In this bug, the scenario is that a person adds a book to their Custom set and includes pictures. They then attempt to add the same book to a Competitive set, and it generates a failed add for whatever reason. Once the failed add is resolved in the Competitive set, the pictures disappear from the Custom set. This does not seem to happen without the failed add taking place. - Point values not generating, showing a score of 0 or 1 Please know that that we will work to get these fixed as quickly as possible. I have no estimate for the resolution, but will update this thread when I do, and when they are fixed. ***UPDATE*** I am told that we should have resolution to the "Unable to add books to Custom Sets that are not already in Competitive set (inventory)" by next week. The rest should be resolved by 4/30. These are not guarantees. This is the information that I've been given and I'm passing it over to you. ***UPDATE 4/24*** I have tested over several accounts this morning and it appears that the Custom Sets bug has been resolved. You should be able to add books to Custom sets that are not in your inventory. The other bugs are still outstanding.
  14. @Tec-Tac-Toe Hi there - I was able to recreate this problem logged in under your account. I've reported this to the developers and asked them to prioritize the fix. Thank you for reporting this.
  15. All - I have recreated this bug and it appears that this is happening when people are trying to add books to Custom sets. It's happening specifically when attempting to add certs to a Custom set that ARE NOT already in your inventory. I have reported this bug to the developers and asked that they prioritize it. You CAN add books to Custom sets if they are in your inventory. I absolutely realize this is a problem and creates more work for you, but this is a workaround for now until the bug is fixed. Here are some images to illustrate what this looks like. The first set of images show the scenario when using the Add From Inventory button, and the successful add: Here is the same Custom set, and an attempt to add a cert using the Add New button. This cert WAS NOT present in my inventory in a Competitive set, and this is where the bug exists: I was not able to recreate this bug with Competitive sets using multiple valid certs; they all added with no problem. If you're having trouble adding books to Competitive sets please post in this thread.
  16. Hi All I'm happy to share that the first ever CGC Comics Registry Collectorverse Newsletter has been delivered to your CCG email inbox today! (You must be subscribed to marketing emails to receive it. Please visit your settings on Collector's Society or your cgccomics.com account to check/adjust.) The newsletter will be delivered quarterly and features news, interviews, and more. Our first interview is with @workingdog and we're grateful for the wonderful stories and insight shared. There may be some technical difficulties with the interview page but we're aware and they'll be addressed on Monday, 3.25. There is also a games section. For Q1 it's a crossword puzzle and everyone can participate to win a small prize. You'll find the crossword in the newsletter itself and also in the dedicated Collectorverse Games sub-forum. Answers can be submitted in numbered format. All posts will require approval so that answers aren't revealed. If multiple people solve the entire crossword correctly, a winner will be randomly chosen from that pool. If nobody solves the entire crossword correctly, whoever has the most correct answers will be the winner. If multiple people are tied for the most correct answers, a winner will be randomly chosen from that pool. The winner will be announced in its own thread on the Registry forum on May 31st, and also in the Q2 newsletter.
  17. @ADAMANTIUM Custom sets accommodate any collecting interests people have and how they want to display them. As for how they're judged, it is mostly the same criteria but completeness isn't necessarily a factor. If you have books in Custom sets, they will be considered for the categories Custom sets are eligible for. Books that live in both Custom sets and Competitive sets will be considered in both sets; there is no rule against that.
  18. I think what's happened here is that the comic ID has been somehow changed; perhaps they made an error with this issue when it was first entered. As of right now, unless you send it in for a Mechanical Error it can't go into the proper slot.
  19. @Robert Ortiz Sr Collection I’m not sure what you’re asking here. You said that the comic you have is Edition A slabbed as Edition B. Is that actually the case?
  20. @hyhhyss12 I'm able to view this cert in our database; it is perfectly legit. It was graded in 2017 and there are no accompanying grader's notes. There is a known issue affecting some certs not pulling on the cert verify tool and our I.T. team is addressing them. If there are concerns relating to any cert number for any collectible CCG has certified, please get in touch with customer service who will be more than happy to look into any concerns raised. The Registry thread is for Registry related topics. Posts related to technical issues need to go into the Ask CGC thread.
  21. @Robert Ortiz Sr Collection Each comic graded by CGC has a unique comic ID number. Those comic ID numbers are tied to each individual slot in a set. Using your example here, if the cover you're showing is actually Black Flag Comics Edition A, but has been assigned to the Black Flag Comics Edition B comic ID (as it shows on the label), it will not be valid for the Black Flag Comics Edition A slot. In this instance, you'll need to get in touch with Customer Service so that you can send the book back in for a Mechanical Error submission.
  22. @Crushalot I'd prefer not to since this is something that is going to be addressed in bulk with our programmers. If there is something very egregious related to a glitch (book showing only 1 point or no points in a high grade) just drop me a line and I can look at it. I'll take this opportunity to remind everyone who may read this thread, that we are well aware of the optics that the imperfections of the point system on the Registry creates, and do have plans to address this. I'll emphasize here that no award is given based on points alone. Images, descriptions, completeness, and overall effort are what the judges look for.
  23. @Merino The CGC Comics Registry functions a bit differently than the NGC Coins and CGC Cards Registry because they are hosted on different platforms. You can view the information for the Census and photos of individual cert numbers through the CGC Comics Cert Verify function. On Collector's Society, within a set, you can view this same information for each book in the set by clicking the cert number (highlighted in the example below) which then directs you to the set owners detailed description, and therein is a link to the census. Here is a link to this set where you can view all of this information together as an example: https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/PeopleSetDetail.aspx?PeopleSetID=168011&SelectedTab=SetListing
  24. @Mattk3447 The short answer is that they don't comply with the updates to the set guidelines. They combine multiple volumes, contain International books, reprints, and other books that go into their own sets now. They will be left in place on the Registry as they are, but we are not making any changes or updates to them. The option is also there for participants to build a Custom Set if they wish to display books in ways that the guidelines do not support. Legacy sets are very difficult to maintain effectively for a variety of programming reasons. They are also problematic during the Awards when judging completion. They're difficult to compare if, for example, one person has primarily a Bronze run while another has a mix of Modern and reprints. We're encouraging participants in Legacy sets to move their books to the respective volumes and other sets that comprise the Legacy sets. It will give people more chances to win during the Awards by having these books represented in their respective volumes. If you have books for which there isn't an individual volume or reprint or limited series set to represent them, please do request it in the new form.
