  1. @Thorseface To my knowledge there has not been any change in programming for the points system. I will take a look at your set and raise the issue with the developers to look into.
  2. @Algonwolf The form has not been made live yet and that is why you were not able to submit the request. Foreign books go into their own sets now. There is a set that already exists listed under Batman 423 International Editions.
  3. @pmpknface Hey there - yes, unfortunately this book would only go into slots for Web of Spider-Man #24, because it's verifying as #24. https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/2747405022/ If this book was shipped out longer than two weeks ago, you'll need to get in touch with Customer Service and arrange to send it in for a Mechanical Error submission before it can be added correctly. If it was shipped within the last two weeks you should be able to submit it under Mechanical Error on the online submission form.
  4. All - I'm happy to report that we will be making the form live on Monday, February 19th. We've also managed to get notifications set on the form and it will work the same way it did in the Chat Boards thread. Once requests are processed, I'll not only be marking them as Done, but I'll also be able to like each request and that will hit your notifications feed.
  5. @ADAMANTIUM There will be a link to the New Set & Slot Requests submission form that lives on the Chat Boards for ease/convenience. You can access this same link through the profile link to submit, but the path is a little convoluted. From your profile link, you click an individual request. That returns you to the same request where it lives on the Requests form. From there, a link (that isn't entirely obvious) lives above the individual request, and clicking it will take you back to the Requests submission page. Technically you'll be able to track your requests on the submission page as well. They'll appear as this screenshot shows. I think it'll just be a matter of preference as far as where people like to keep track of/view their requests. I've been testing again today and things are looking good. I'm waiting to hear back from our developers about a couple of things. It's been a bit like playing wack-a-mole getting it ready, but we're very close to being able to launch it.
  6. @Yorick All Foreign books go into their own sets. That was just an example of information that someone might want to include in the Notes field about their book for added clarity.
  7. @workingdog Best thing to do is check the set first, and I'm sure you and most others are doing that anyway. The short answer to this is that you won't be able to see others requests, but the way I'm trying to get the back end on this organized is to be able to group requests together for the same sets. Fortunately for yourselves the new form makes the process of submitting requests very quick, so if it is a duplicate it's not much time lost. Eventually, when time allows and when we have more help, one request would lead to them all...sort of like the one ring! LOL! In other words, eventually when someone makes a single request and I can see there are additional slots missing in the set, I'd like to get them all added at once rather than piecemeal. I try to work this way as much as possible when I can, but it does slow things down. Adding missing slots to existing sets will actually be phase two of the large, overall cleanup. Phase one (underway) is bringing sets up to compliance with the guidelines, making sure everything is tagged with the appropriate era (Gold, Silver, etc.) and adding or adjusting existing tags so that sets show up under the correct popular search links. And of course building new sets for foreign books and anything else parsed out.
  8. Additionally, if you're new to the Registry or returning after a long absence, please familiarize yourself with the updates to the Set Guidelines before making requests.
  9. So that everyone can get familiar with the new form for submitting New Set & Slot Requests, please click "Next Page" to move through this instructional post that includes step-by-step screenshots. Please click on individual screenshots for larger views. This will be the landing page for the New Set & Slot Requests form. Click the button that reads "Add new request" to begin. The form defaults to "New Set" in the typeahead menu field; leave this in place if you're requesting a new set. Clicking into the field will produce the dropdown menu of sets on the Registry. Typing any letter will bring you to the list of set titles beginning with that letter. You can either scroll through or continue typing the name and the menu will navigate to it if it exists. This typeahead menu is updated manually. The aim is to update it at the end of every day so that it reflects new set additions. As stated in the update to the Set Guidelines, sets marked "LEGACY" are no longer being updated. Please navigate to the individual volume of the title you wish to request a slot for. If the individual volume does not exist, please request a New Set to be built for it. When requesting a new set, please indicate whether you'd like the set to be built as All Variants (one variant per slot) or as Any Variant (any variant of an issue in a single slot) in the "New Slot Request" field. When requesting a slot to be added to an existing set with variants, please follow the label on your book and provide those variant details in the New Slot Request field. If you have a foreign book for an existing title on the Registry, but the foreign edition of that set is not present, please request that it be built. Foreign books go into their own sets now and will not be added to existing US sets. Please use the "Notes" field at the bottom of the form to provide further details (i.e., Specialized storyline set, Newsstand Only, multiple slots for same set, Canadian Price Variant, etc.) Progress of the requests can be tracked within your Chat Boards profile by clicking the "See My Activity" tab. Once you click "See My Activity", scroll down and left to the "Requests" link under the CGC Comics Registry New Set & Slot Requests header. After clicking the "Requests" link, you can view your list of requests. You can sort this list by clicking on the "Sort By" function on the top right. Clicking into an individual request will show the details of its progress. Requests will be deleted about a week or so after they are processed. Be sure you're keeping track of them under the Requests link on your Chat Boards profile, as once they are deleted from the Administrative queue they will also be deleted from your Requests queue.
  10. @Numb3rw1z So what happens in this situation is when the data team corrects mistakes, they merge the comic ID associated with the incorrect entry to the correct comic ID. You'll be able to add those books to the first printing variant slots next week once the census updates. You won't need to send them in for a reholder unless you want the labels corrected. If you decide to do that, you'll need to get in touch with customer service to arrange for the mechanical error submission.
  11. @Numb3rw1z Data team confirmed that these are incorrect entries and these slots have been deleted from the set.
  12. @Numb3rw1z According to our database, the Third Printings were published in 8/19 whereas the first prints were published in 6/19. I will ask our data team to verify that all is correct though.
  13. @Dennis gitlin That's excellent! It's certainly no easy feat to collect these books, that's for sure. The rarity is real.
  14. @Dennis gitlin I'm really happy with the expanding presence of these sets on the Registry. I've seen a good share of very active collectors join up recently and it's great. Looking forward to the Awards cycle where these sets will be recognized in their own category for the first time.
  15. @Dennis gitlin If the sets currently in place are focused on the covers only, I think those should be treated as Cover Sets. I can build a new Competitive set that includes the books with the covers as well as the actual story material. Once the new set and slot request form goes live, you can send over the certs for the books you're referring to and I can get something built for you.
  16. @Dennis gitlin The books that correspond to the Foreign title slots have been corrected in our database. They were incorrectly named, as you pointed out. They've all been re-named to Secret Wars 8 with the respective, correct country applied under the Edition. Your labels reflect this correction. Those books can be added to the highlighted slots that are in the set. So the books themselves are not being removed from the set; they of course have a place. Only the incorrectly named, duplicate slots will be removed.
  17. @Dennis gitlin What I'm trying to explain is that the slots in that set that are labeled with their Foreign title are all duplicates. They've been re-labeled in our database under Secret Wars 8 with the country for the editions, as the labels you have show. So these are duplicates.
  18. @Dennis gitlin I was hoping you did own these. I was going to ask for some pictures so that I can cross reference against what we have, and you've already provided some; thank you. I spoke with the team in charge of Foreign books this morning, and they confirmed that since 2021, they began to give all Foreign books the English title with the country as the edition to reference where it actually originated from, along with the publisher. They let me know that prior to this conversion project, many books were incorrectly classified as being from Finland and this was due to Finland being a major publisher of many comics for the European market. They said that they've converted the bulk of Foreign books over, and no Secret Wars 8 should be listed under any Foreign title, so the ones you've referenced can be removed because they now exist under the English title, and so are duplicates. As the cleanup progresses, I'll be looking carefully into other Foreign sets built prior to my coming onto the Registry as I suspect there will be more situations like this.
  19. @Get Marwood & I I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I'm not the only person involved in making these kinds of decisions. It's always good to gather a consensus from folks who collect these books on the Registry so that I can take that information back to the others on the administrative side of things.
  20. @Dennis gitlin This set was built before me and foreign books have also gone through changes in our database as we received more. I'm guessing this set was built at the beginning when the information was not as accurate. These books are all listed as Finnish in our database, and that is what I've based the slot titles on as that is what the information returned. I can ask the data team to investigate. Do you own the books in question?
  21. @Get Marwood & I The term Foreign has been used long before I came onto the Registry team. The set you referenced was created by someone before me and I did not name it. That set falls under the Specialized set structure and Foreign Editions makes sense for it since it contains books from multiple countries. Sets structured around books from a single Foreign country include the name Canadian Editions/Price Variants, Argentinian Editions, etc., alongside the title of the run. For the purposes of the Registry, any book distributed outside of the US falls into the Foreign category. Foreign and International hold the same meaning. If what you're trying to point out here is consistency based on the article you referenced, I understand the purpose. The term Foreign was used on the Registry prior to me, and the aim was to keep that consistent. If there are others who feel that Specialized sets collecting books from multiple countries should be termed "International Editions" rather than "Foreign Editions" they can add to this conversation.
  22. @Dennis gitlin The Canadian Price Variant was never removed and remains in the set. I did organize it though so it's easier to see. The person who built that set must have done so before we'd got a lot of those books in and before most were re-labeled in our system under the English title. I added some that were missing to it and removed a couple that are not Secret Wars 8.
  23. @Dennis gitlin I only removed the US books. I haven't removed any Canadian Price Variants from those sets.
  24. @Dennis gitlin The US books have been removed from those sets.
