  1. @Robert Ortiz Sr Collection Each comic graded by CGC has a unique comic ID number. Those comic ID numbers are tied to each individual slot in a set. Using your example here, if the cover you're showing is actually Black Flag Comics Edition A, but has been assigned to the Black Flag Comics Edition B comic ID (as it shows on the label), it will not be valid for the Black Flag Comics Edition A slot. In this instance, you'll need to get in touch with Customer Service so that you can send the book back in for a Mechanical Error submission.
  2. @Crushalot I'd prefer not to since this is something that is going to be addressed in bulk with our programmers. If there is something very egregious related to a glitch (book showing only 1 point or no points in a high grade) just drop me a line and I can look at it. I'll take this opportunity to remind everyone who may read this thread, that we are well aware of the optics that the imperfections of the point system on the Registry creates, and do have plans to address this. I'll emphasize here that no award is given based on points alone. Images, descriptions, completeness, and overall effort are what the judges look for.
  3. @Merino The CGC Comics Registry functions a bit differently than the NGC Coins and CGC Cards Registry because they are hosted on different platforms. You can view the information for the Census and photos of individual cert numbers through the CGC Comics Cert Verify function. On Collector's Society, within a set, you can view this same information for each book in the set by clicking the cert number (highlighted in the example below) which then directs you to the set owners detailed description, and therein is a link to the census. Here is a link to this set where you can view all of this information together as an example: https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/PeopleSetDetail.aspx?PeopleSetID=168011&SelectedTab=SetListing
  4. @Mattk3447 The short answer is that they don't comply with the updates to the set guidelines. They combine multiple volumes, contain International books, reprints, and other books that go into their own sets now. They will be left in place on the Registry as they are, but we are not making any changes or updates to them. The option is also there for participants to build a Custom Set if they wish to display books in ways that the guidelines do not support. Legacy sets are very difficult to maintain effectively for a variety of programming reasons. They are also problematic during the Awards when judging completion. They're difficult to compare if, for example, one person has primarily a Bronze run while another has a mix of Modern and reprints. We're encouraging participants in Legacy sets to move their books to the respective volumes and other sets that comprise the Legacy sets. It will give people more chances to win during the Awards by having these books represented in their respective volumes. If you have books for which there isn't an individual volume or reprint or limited series set to represent them, please do request it in the new form.
  5. @azacchio Please us the below link to submit new set requests or request slot adds for existing sets. https://boards.cgccomics.com/requests/
  6. @theubiquitousgiantsquid Hi there - you would request a new set or a new slot to be added to an existing set here: https://boards.cgccomics.com/requests/ I would also recommend familiarizing yourself with the Set Guidelines prior to making requests so you have an understanding of how the sets are structured. Those guidelines are found here:
  7. @Chad The Collector Hi there - there is a Skottie Young Cover set that you can register this book in. Alternatively you can build your own Custom Set to suit your collection. Requesting a new set or a slot add to an existing set is done here: https://boards.cgccomics.com/requests/
  8. @Iconic1s Indeed you did! Thank you!
  9. @Last Karate Kid This has been corrected. You should be able to add the book to your inventory and any sets it's in.
  10. @theubiquitousgiantsquid Welcome to the Registry! We're glad to have you! We've got a great community here of very helpful people (thanks @workingdog for lending a hand over the weekend!) If I can ever answer any questions for you please feel free to drop me a message through the Chat Boards message system. I'll be happy to help.
  11. @Qalyar Foreign Editions have unique publishing traits and this is recognized on the Registry. While technically if a foreign book collects multiple issues it could be considered a trade, they are not considered trades in the traditional sense.
  12. @Steppenwolfscomics All I'm at liberty to say at this time is that there are plans in the works.
  13. @ADAMANTIUM I've submitted a couple of tickets with our developers to address some glitches, and I'm hoping that they can look into it in a timely manner. I know the difficulty for them comes from being able to recreate these kinds of situations so that they can locate the bug at the root of the glitch, which I suspect will be hard to do in these instances. At any rate, I wouldn't worry too much about points at this time. They will be addressed in one large sweep so individual adjustments really aren't necessary because they'll all change once that happens anyway. When it comes to the Awards and rankings, etc., the judges panel look at so many different factors in the data, completion and presentation being primary areas of focus.
  14. @Dennis gitlin I'm working going to get points adjusted across the entire Registry with our developers. For now, I wouldn't worry too much about this because it will all be addressed at one time.
  15. Limited series sets can be combined. Ongoing series cannot be combined with Limited or other Ongoing series. You can combine Limited and Ongoing titles in a Custom set though. So using your example, I can build a combined Limited Series set (as long as the book counts are not too high, otherwise they'll stand on their own individually) and I can build the individual volumes of ongoing series.
  16. @Chuck K There are no updates or changes being made to Legacy sets at this time. The recommendation is to move books to the respective volumes that comprise the Legacy sets. If the volume needed is not present, please do request it.
  17. I'll name the sets as they're built and based on the details of the set type, but please include what you're looking for in the Notes field.
  18. I have also updated the dropdown menu this morning. I worked late last night to get through the requests as a priority but got the menu updated first thing just now.
  19. Thank you so much for reporting this. I was able to recreate it and send it to the developers to look into. In the meantime, replace the zero with a different number and put the actual cert in the Notes field. Highlighting this for emphasis so others can see the workaround.
  20. @Dennis gitlin I wholeheartedly agree. This is something that will be addressed in one large sweep by our developers, but in the meantime I'll look into these because that seems off. There have been a few glitches lately and this may be related.
  21. @Crushalot I'm happy with the smoothness overall. Still some things to improve, but I'm hoping everyone is having an easier time and a better experience.
  22. @ComBD The clean up will be taking place over a long period of time in phases. The first phase, which is still underway, is removing and reorganizing foreign books into new sets, marking sets Legacy where it applies, and tagging sets with the appropriate tags so that they show up correctly in the data. There are volumes being broken out of Legacy sets, but not all US volumes will happen in this phase of the clean up. People can of course request that a volume be broken out from a Legacy set and I will absolutely build it. I looked into the Star Wars 1977 set you referenced and was also surprised to see that an Any Variant version did not already exist, but it appears it doesn't unless I'm missing it entirely. I went ahead and stood one up for you just in case and it should be visible now.
  23. @ebakerl If the list includes your cert numbers, you can just add the list as an attachment if you're able to save it as one of the accepted file options.
  24. @ADAMANTIUM For these kinds of situations, I'll drop you a PM to get more specifics if there's any confusion. The reason for this is that some questions may get into details about your collecting plans, which many on the Registry like to keep private.
  25. @ADAMANTIUM The reason it says that is because you haven't submitted a request yet! You'll need to visit the link on the Chat Boards under the New Set & Slot Request thread to submit your first request. After that, you'll be able to track them, but again, from that view the path is not entirely direct.
