I find it very interesting. Both Super Mario and Star Wars are classic cult.  First five Star Wars movies before Star Wars: The Force Awakens earned $247.2M total on 1st weekends only.  The Force Awakens earned $248M to beat all first five Star Wars Movies included Star Wars Special Edition on its first weekend. Just Amazing.  Super Mario's record is unbreakable.

Is it ok to admit I am gobbling up each new episode of The Mandalorian? Star Wars was incredible to a kid of the 1970’s. I lost track after the 5th film, but I really like the shows. Andor was amazing. So, yes, I picked up some 9.8 books. #1 and #42. Really like my 9.8 Jedi Yoda.
Mario was cool in a different way. Not sure the nostalgia and cool factor is as deep as Star Wars. it’s not. And totally surprised about Mario’s box office success.

Jeeze really? Let him wear what he wants and have fun. A comic show is the perfect place to do it. I took my 2 young grandaughters to WonderCon last week. They love to “dress up”. They had a blast. Just be glad he wants to spend the day with you and let his creative side loose…

Of course! By “this guy” I meant me. He’s pumped and he will be dressed up!

Some of that's on me.  I spent a gigantic, unsafe amount of money in 2021 and 2022 - mostly here but also on CL.  Right, of course, at the top of the market.  I have to be more selective.

Sounds familiar. I’m sure I can swap stories about the money spent on books that have now dropped considerably.

Where at?  Just curious as I grew up in Citrus County.  I now live in Washington state and hope this show is better than what ECCC has become.  ECCC use to sell out early and I looked forward to it but haven't been back in years.

We are on Anna Maria Island. Manatee County. I’ve never been. Saturday looks to be the day — tix for children (6-12) are still available.  Looking forward to going! My only gripe is that he wants to get into costume. This guy is not dressing up.

I didn't see a post for this so... I've never been to this show but since I'll be in Florida I have a ticket to attend.

My 11 year old son wants to go to this. Just realized that Saturday is sold out! I may take him out of school on Friday and make a day of it. We are a couple of hours from Orlando. I’ve heard all positive feedback about this event.

This was one of the best sales threads ever. Every book was sold at a reasonable price. There was enough notice that if you really wanted one of these you had a decent chance to get it. This thread may start a new trend of one book at a time.

I agree. Prices were definitely competitive as to every book. “Priced to move” within reason. Enjoyed watching and being a part of it.
