I am having a camera endoscopy done tomorrow so it will have to wait until Wednesday. I’m kind of concerned he is going to leave an unjust negative review just to spite me. I have 100% positive feedback and don’t want that ruined by the fun-sucker that crashed our party.

No. Just trying to reach out. You can't see it and you never will. Spoiled little brat. Weren't you strong enough to destroy the thing that scarred you so? That's the worst thing I think I have ever heard. You kept it for 14 years and let it torture you?
There. How's that feel? Having someone presuming your motivations?
You're welcome, BTW. Just send the thing and have a good life. Let's see if it makes it to its new, rightful owner in one piece. Or at all. See what YOUR scruples are made of.Sorry about your daddy issues. I’ll ship it on Tuesday grandpa.

He IS a clown. That much is certain. And a narcissist. The drawing proves it. Now, the drawing is out of tiffleberry's hair forever. This continuing story alone is worth the winning bid. As I said and meant: Time has a way of coloring things. It could have been destroyed (rightfully so) long ago but wasn't for some reason. Now, the misunderstood exchange between its former owner and myself has become part of its lore. Its legend. Perhaps I shall name the drawing "Annabelle". Do I dare? Nope.
I am looking forward to owning the piece. I believe it's my 1st piece of OA that isn't a sketch inside a book or on its cover.
Just so it's understood: I understand COMPLETELY how it feels getting insulted and patronized as a kid by an adult I looked up to. My own father. Believe me it wasn't pretty and it changed the course of my entire life. That kind of thing we don't forget. It isn't as easy as say auctioning off an offensive drawing. And I can't imagine auctioning off an offensive drawing is easy, either. The drawing may be gone - as is the property I once owned stolen by my father - but the feeling is never gone nor is the memory. I use my trauma and put it to positive use. We SAY it doesn't bother us. But of course it does. Of course it does.
And at the end of the day, though. If I were offered that property back? YEARS ago I would have said "Go EFF yourself. I don't want it." But now? Today? I'd give almost anything to have it back. We change over time. Perspective changes. So, the offer is always there if she would like it back years from now. Maybe not. But then again, maybe so.
I'll be happy to be its custodian. It'll help replace something that was stolen from me almost 50 years ago.The point is, I am a 25 year old grown woman and you are continually talking to me like I am a child. I wonder if you are married, if you are, I feel awful for your wife. Get over yourself.
why are you projecting your daddy issues on me? My dad is amazing and would never treat me like that.I know at your prehistoric age you probably forget that women have autonomy nowadays. It’s okay grandpa.

I was about to click it to win it but declined. Sorry.
My eBay ID is pretty identifiable to me anyway.
I edited my post after looking at the shipping address. I’m kind of sad he won but it was fair.

Hey sorry. Wasn't my intent at all. I did bid. I'm highest bidder. I did read the description. I asked questions because I was concerned there may be some ambiguity between the conversation here and the listing on EBay.
You WILL be a different person when you age another 20 or 30 years. That's just a fact. And you will have a different perspective. That's just a fact as well.
I know why it matters little to you NOW. It may be a different matter many years from now. Life has a way of making us look back when we age. You'll see. In fact if I DO win it, I will care for it because it meant so much to you obviously. It's a snake in your garden right now. Years from now it may mean something completely different. And years from now - if possible - I will return it to you if you wish for it.
Wish me luck.Again, making a lot of assumptions about me.
I didn’t ask for your unsolicited advice. I already have a dad, thanks. I assure you it will never have value to me, stop trying to tell me how to feel, thank you.
You are seriously trying to convince me that this sketch that a 3 year old could draw will someone magically gain value to me personally one day. No. The value came from this thread and the joke.
You took this entirely too seriously and are still continuing to patronize me. Please stop.

Cool. I won't have any truck with a burning party. Not books. Not art. We aren't ignorant members of a school board or the PTA.
On 2/20/2022 at 4:38 PM, Randall Ries said:Yup! It's why I said (lemme find it, now....AH!) "That's ICING, young 'un. But it's your own thing. Not telling you what you should do. Telling you revenge comes in different forms and opportunities."
Age, experience, being a full grown man comes with a full grown perspective.
I LOVE your Barker rap! LOL!
My worry is that an actual piece of OA will get destroyed over something as pedestrian as revenge. It can be better used as revenge if it is whole. Can be used like a baton over and over again. I'll bid on it. Sure! I hope I win it. It's a great piece of someone's history. Perhaps tiffleberry will want it back someday when SHE is full growed. Do you know that every seven years, we are a completely different person? It's true! Each one of our cells is completely different than the ones they were 7 years prior. Same with brain cells and brain chemistry. That's why hindsight is a BEEitch. Things I did or destroyed years ago suddenly have value. And as I age, I use the phrase "Ugh. If ONLY I HAD...fill in the blank)" more often than I used to.
Off to find the EBay link....I really don’t appreciate your patronizing tone over something that was supposed to be fun. No need to be rude to me because I am a 25 year old woman. You make a lot of assumptions about what I know about value and assume it’s very little because of my age. Thankfully I had a very intelligent father who has taught me so much. Again, even if this piece was worth $1,000, which it will NEVER be, I would still burn it and laugh while doing it. That’s how little it matters to me.
I didn’t start this thread. I didn’t even have the eBay idea!
You commented about it without even reading the description for the item.
If you feel so strongly, bid on it. It has a little over an hour left. The novels you wrote to me and the assumptions you make about my maturity level were really not necessary.

Why burn the sketch? It's worth more alive than dead. Burn it and it'll be just an unsubstantiated story. Keep it alive and Sudayam can be vilified with proof until the day he cashes in. The only way a burn could be valuable is if you locate him in a parking lot, get his attention and say "Remember this?" And light it under his nose. Video THAT and the master copy of the video will be worth a fortune.
Because I am not concerned about value. It is only an option to have it burned, the winning bidder may not want it burned. I didn’t get this sketch, or any sketch for that matter, in hopes of them ever being valuable.
I will be cutting out the official stamp and gluing it to the bag I mail the ashes in so you know it’s official Arthur Suydam merchandise.
edit: Arthur is such a jerk that he probably wouldn’t even care if I burned it in front of him. He made his money lol.

Yes, that is me! It actually belongs to my stepfather. It’s a 67, matching numbers but in desperate need of restoration. I drive a Ford Ranger but it’s not as aesthetically pleasing.

Tiffani doing well with the infamous Suydam stamped "sketch" now @ $41 and the auction ends Sunday. I love a feel good story. The thing about feel good stories is there's someone out there that makes you feel not so good at first. You can shrivel up and accept it. Or you can go Charles Bronson on social media like Tiffani did and turn that frown upside down. I'll be playing Rocky III and Rudy later on today just to keep the good vibes going for Tiffani and her dad. Of course I am fighting the bad angel that want's Tiffani to go after the artist harder. "Sweep the leg Tiffani. Sweep the leg! Kobra Kai. Do or Die. Ok that's Karate Kid negative energy from Kobra Kai. I'll watch that one next week before the in-laws come to visit. For now its all deep breaths and good thoughts for a great final day of bidding on Sunday.
O Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Thank you for your kind words! I never expected to get all of this support. The suggestion to put it on eBay was awesome and I’ve enjoyed seeing the attention it’s getting. I am just happy that the “zombie” sketch could bring smiles to other people’s faces.
Here is the link to the auction again for anyone that didn’t see it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/234419817372?mkevt=1&mkcid=16&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
Again, when I listed it on eBay for fun, I totally did not expect this response! You guys are awesome. Thank you for being so welcoming.

Tell your friends. BID BID WIN
Maybe the artist can commemorate the eBay sale. Piggy back off the event and sell a stamped, signed, limited edition photoshopped picture of the hundreds of fans in line watching as he poured his blood sweat and tears into your daughters zombie punisher.
* ps found this picture taken of dad the moment he saw what his daughter paid $20 for.
Also, as an added bonus, this auction will benefit the Hero Initiative, a great non-profit that helps people in the comic community!
I wanted to donate 50% of the sale, but eBay would only allow me to donate 10% to them.

Also, I saw your Herb Trimpe Hulk sketch and it made me laugh when he added (with an I) to your sketch.
I think those interactions had some value in that they taught me that even people you look up to can be jerks. I will always cherish those memories with my dad.
It makes me laugh too! Even though I was shy, I always made it a point to tell the artists that I am “Tiffani with an I” when I asked for it to be personalized. If you notice the EBAS sketch I posted, Eric said it’s not spelled with a Y, it’s actually a heart over the i when I pointed out that he misspelled my name. I love that each sketch has a story. -

Tiffleberry should have gone on Sunday when “I do free sketches for kids.”
Now that I’m thinking about it… I do think it might’ve been a Sunday when he did this to me. His was the last sketch I got at that convention, and we always attended cons for all three days.

Golden was out of the scene for years and then came out on the convention circuit and he and his rep accepted money in advance for commissions. Then silence. A group of 4 or so decided they had enough and sent a legalish letter saying get'er done (even though this was kind of saying skip us to the top of the list, I know as I was on the list but not one who was involved in the letter). So he got'em done, and sent some class-less lettering on them as well. Professionally drawn but insulting the buyers. The only one shared publicly (as far as I know) has a misspelling and said "Patience is a virue Mr. Turnbull" (Mr Turnbull seems an awesome guy, although we have never met.) it also appears to be Doc thumbing his nose or blowing a raspberry to Mr Turnbull.
Ahh, I see. That definitely sounds like Golden. I will always remember my first interaction with him… not fondly, either.

you'd think a professional artist would be embarrassed to put their 'official seal' on that. and speaking of Michael Golden, be more careful to proofread insulting commissions (i.e. "patience is a virue")...
I’m a little confused on what you’re saying about Michael Golden.

I have a few posted on my old Comic Art Fans account. Most notably the Frank Cho mentioned earlier. After he drew the cigar he looked at me and said, “oops, maybe I shouldn’t have drawn that.” This was at the same convention I got the Arthur “sketch” from.

At the same time, hopefully your daughter learned that when an artist says they don't want to sketch, to take them at their word and move on.
Hi, I am the daughter in question here. I was actually only 11 when I had this interaction with Arthur. I only got told “no” on one occasion. It was Michael Golden at the Dallas Comic Convention. I will never forget that interaction either. Although a few years later I did get Michael Golden to do a Bugs Bunny sketch for my younger brother.
I was always very respectful to artists, and I was actually quite shy as a kid. My dad having me go get sketches on my own was what got me over that social anxiety. There was kind of a running joke that a lot of the artists went along with in my sketchbook about me needing to talk more. I’m glad my dad gave me the opportunity and freedom to meet all the amazing artists I did.
My daughter just went savage on Arthur Suydam

It’s actually a camera the size of a pill that I have to swallow, a little different than a routine endoscopy. I rely on eBay right now which is why I’m concerned about his potential revenge feedback because I hurt his feelings. This was supposed to be a fun joke, and I’m not having fun anymore. I guess I will cross that bridge with eBay and the screenshots if it has to come to it.
