What is going on with that showcase 4? (Condition wise.)
It's a gem, ain't it?
It has a little touch of white-out on the cover, and the main image of The Flash has been worn away and replaced with one from a reprint! (yipe.)
I'm not too condition-needy in regard to my SA D.C. keys; I just want a copy. I paid $500 for this thing in February of this year (or, rather, my wife did. It was my wedding present), but it's still the cheapest Showcase #4 I'd run across! The paper is decent and I'm just happy to have one.

In an unrelated vein, this message board has inspired me. I have sent my Fantastic Four #92 in to CGC to be graded. It's about as nice as I have and I'm realistically hoping for a 9.0. We'll see...
I know you were all dying to find out...
It just came back a 9.2!

Oh yeah? Well my copy has a huge spine roll, so it's bigger than yours.
So there. Na na na na na.

Cool comix, Mac! My copies might be a pinch prettier, but I got 'em when they were cheap. If I were buying them today, you and I would be after exactly the same kinds of books!

I'd love to have space for a desk in my comic room. That's nice.

Brilliant brace of books, 'Blazer!

I agree 100% that Ben's look wasn't all the way there until Sinnott began inking him. The "Skrull Gangster World" story is a huge sentimental favorite of mine and I love the art of that era. I think The Thing looked best in the issues following the "Him" story (FF 65&66) and before #94.
Just a personal preferrance.

They're beat, but they're mine!

Here's my little group.

That's a nice trip in the WABAC machine for me, too. Beautiful.

Congrats to Motown Mike!

It's just some old gray carpet in our lizard room.
You can see it all in the popular "Show us your lizard room" thread in General!

Nice book! Just $60?
-
Wish I had spent $10 more 20 years ago when I bought them.
Hear it. Back in the late 80s, I was quite single-minded in my silver age pursuit. I needed everything. Now . I was buying old Marvels 20-30 issues at a time. I remember very clearly passing up higher graded comics in favor of lower grades, just so I could harvest greater quantity.

But you have one, that is what's important here. F.F. #4 is in my SA Marvel Top 15. A real key comic! Congrats!
-
Boy, it took a long time to mention the Galactus Trilogy!
My favorite single comic ever is Fantastic Four Annual #6. It's got everything I look for in a comic book.

Transcendant room!

Enjoy yourself! About a decade ago, I sold off a portion of my collection to put a down payment on my first house. As I priced the comics, I often had to stop and savor all the old covers and stories.
Don't rush those treasures off to CGC too fast; take some time to bask in their glory!

I have em all BHF!
I still need six! Nicely done!

The #2 is the best of the bunch, condition-wise. Good eye!
No real pattern. I love Kirby, but I also love Stan Lee, Ditko, Buscema, Romita, Tuska...

All right KirbyJack, quit the stunting! Posting FF1-5 on the Silver FF thread and now this. Have you no respect for others? Very nice mate.
Check the Hulk thread! (guess who found the cord to his camera)

Are you going to enjoy them raw or will you be submitting them down to Sarasota land?
No plans for submission at this time. They're just readers.
Is that a Hulk #1 above them?
See above post!
Sweet AF #15 too! I'm kinda stating the obvious, eh? Where did you land them from?
Just local shops, but about a hundred years ago, when I could afford copies! Thanks fer lookin'!

What is that behind those comics?
I see thing hands, a radio antena and what looks to be a Green-skinned version of Incrdible Hulk #1 cover?
You see correctly. The green Hulk #1 cover is a wall poster. I posted a shot of my comic room in that thread in General, if you want to see it.

Holy cats, that's your old beater, isn't it?! I'd love to know what you sold it for!
