  1. Great buy, great read! It's a fav of mine, because I read it as a youngster (and I own the original art to page #13!)
  2. I dunno. I like #135 a lot better than Voltorg's little magic wands on #166.
  3. Wow! You know, I'd like 9.0s, too, but I've gotta live with my beaters for now. I'll just have to stage-parent your collection!
  4. Yep. That's a "remaindered" comic. The understanding was the retailer would send back the upper third or so of the cover, destroy the remainder; and get credit. Obviously, that didn't always happen.
  5. Nice! That issue is the Spidey equivalent to FF #51.
  6. Where? Gives us the details. I need both. Sorry about the delay, I was away. My LCS is Krypton Comics in Omaha, Nebraska and the owner is Dean Phillips. The phone # is 402-391-4131. The #178 is a very pretty VF-ish book, the #9 is low grade but presentable. Both priced at $1500 each, but I'm sure he would work with you a bit. They're good people. (And no, I will not profit at all from any potential sale.)
  7. I went into my LCS yesterday and saw a 4 Color #9 and #178 for sale! (Sorry. I just had to tell somebody that cared. This stuff is lost on my wife.)
  8. Great book! The monsters in that Incredible Hulk annual (5 or 6? It escapes me) are what got me into pre-hero. Blip. Taboo, Goom... can't beat 'em!
  9. I'm right there with you, Torchie. I remember passing up Kirby F.F.s in VF for $5 so I could buy 5 at $1 each. I was all about quantity in those days. In a way, I'm glad I did, because I have just about everything I want. But mostly, I'm a jealous, bitter old man. But seriously, those are some wonderful comics, folks.
  10. Sure do! They also stretch, flame and turn invisible.
  11. When you read #100, be sure to enjoy the "soulpain" immortalized within. It will haunt you.
  12. I hear you. There is something about those titles. I'm first and foremost an F.F. guy, but the torch tales are all must haves.
  13. Pull that trigger! (Bear in mind that this is coming from a guy who considers every SA Marvel 1st appearance Kirby ever did a Must Have.)
  14. ...whereas my comic room is the only consistantly clean room in our house. Go figger.
  15. Welcome to the boards, Jedi! (The silver age is strong in this one...)
  16. I remember hearing that back in the day. From dealers.
  17. I've got all the silver age issues. Then I'm about 90% to #300.
