  1. It's a gem, ain't it? It has a little touch of white-out on the cover, and the main image of The Flash has been worn away and replaced with one from a reprint! (yipe.) I'm not too condition-needy in regard to my SA D.C. keys; I just want a copy. I paid $500 for this thing in February of this year (or, rather, my wife did. It was my wedding present), but it's still the cheapest Showcase #4 I'd run across! The paper is decent and I'm just happy to have one.
  2. I know you were all dying to find out... It just came back a 9.2!
  3. Oh yeah? Well my copy has a huge spine roll, so it's bigger than yours. So there. Na na na na na.
  4. Cool comix, Mac! My copies might be a pinch prettier, but I got 'em when they were cheap. If I were buying them today, you and I would be after exactly the same kinds of books!
  5. I'd love to have space for a desk in my comic room. That's nice.
  6. I agree 100% that Ben's look wasn't all the way there until Sinnott began inking him. The "Skrull Gangster World" story is a huge sentimental favorite of mine and I love the art of that era. I think The Thing looked best in the issues following the "Him" story (FF 65&66) and before #94. Just a personal preferrance.
  7. You can see it all in the popular "Show us your lizard room" thread in General!
  8. Hear it. Back in the late 80s, I was quite single-minded in my silver age pursuit. I needed everything. Now . I was buying old Marvels 20-30 issues at a time. I remember very clearly passing up higher graded comics in favor of lower grades, just so I could harvest greater quantity.
  9. But you have one, that is what's important here. F.F. #4 is in my SA Marvel Top 15. A real key comic! Congrats!
  10. Boy, it took a long time to mention the Galactus Trilogy! My favorite single comic ever is Fantastic Four Annual #6. It's got everything I look for in a comic book.
  11. Enjoy yourself! About a decade ago, I sold off a portion of my collection to put a down payment on my first house. As I priced the comics, I often had to stop and savor all the old covers and stories. Don't rush those treasures off to CGC too fast; take some time to bask in their glory!
  12. The #2 is the best of the bunch, condition-wise. Good eye! No real pattern. I love Kirby, but I also love Stan Lee, Ditko, Buscema, Romita, Tuska...
  13. Check the Hulk thread! (guess who found the cord to his camera)
  14. You see correctly. The green Hulk #1 cover is a wall poster. I posted a shot of my comic room in that thread in General, if you want to see it.
