  1. All-Star #3 is a must! But I'm a collector, not a dealer. If I was trying to sell one, I'd take the Archie.
  2. I have seen nothing lately! The last time I saw a sizeable lot of the Kirby stuff I prefer was in maybe 1996 at my LCS. I did not miss the opportunity, but it stung the ol' wallet even then. I always thought the reason I never saw them was that dealers didn't want to lug them around due to low demand. Now I'm not so sure that it isn't because they're all being kept in collections. I still need a bunch of Rawhide Kids! I'll trade an FF 48 for a RK 17!
  3. My TTA 27 is the only comic in my collection that I will never upgrade. It could be your copy's twin brother, MLM. But rough as it is, it was my first "big" comic purchase, and buying it made me a collector. Looking at it takes me right back to when my entire collection fit on one 16" shelf.
  4. Well, let's just pad it out to help get it there! Hi!
  5. Love that #40! It would be a strong upgrade for me. And...24K for a 112? Wow. Anyone want a VFish copy for 1% of that?
  6. A sci-fi bookseller in Omaha had all of those in NICE shape about 15 years ago. I could've had 'em for a song, but passed.
  7. Looks like a photo finish... ...Bats #1 by a nose!
  8. The first copy of Amazing Spider-Man #1 I ever owned was missing the "what-did-you-think, fans?" ad page that featured a big Spidey waving to the reader. I didn't realize it wasn't there on the first reading, but its absence later forced me to upgrade. I love the house ads!
  9. Great stuff! Weird to see Jack Davis mixed in with those Kirby covers, tho. I forgot about that one!
  10. "I thought I was poor when I had no comic room, until I met a man who had no comics."
  11. Marvel #1. If this was Sunday, I'd take it twice.
  12. Be as blase as you want about those Spideys, but pretty FFs like that will always be heart-stopping comics to me!
  13. It was FF #92. I bought it as a near mint, and quite frankly I think it is. I also got FF annual 5 at the same time from the same guy, but I'm not sending it in. This way, I can pretend its a 9.4.
  14. I have UV protection on window and lights. Here's a link to the stuff I used if your interested. I dont sell it but it will redirect to someone who does. http://www.mikescomicshop.com/24501.html I'll rest easier. There is a store in town that kept some neat stuff up long enough for the comics to become almost worthless. I tried to tell 'em...
  15. Amazingly pretty! I don't own one single silver age book that nice. I sent my nicest FF to CGC and it came back a 9.2. (A very strictly graded 9.2, IMO)
  16. That 44 is beautiful! That's a book that could make a little bit of a price jump really soon.
  17. Really cool room, but those pretty FFs are going to get light-struck!
  18. The cover story of Strange Tales 91 is a personal fav!
  19. Gotta love an asbestos Beetle wig. That was the first ish of Strange Tales I ever bought! Now I've got 68 thru 168!
  20. That's the one, AtlasFan! And it is cool, isn't it? Maybe retro-type?
  21. The guide used to list an issue of Strange Tales as a prototype for The Thing until it was pointed out that FF #1 pre-dated it. I never bought too heavily into the whole prototype scenario.
  22. I never get tired of seeing that comic! Congrats!
  23. I think it's okay to celebrate a bit when you complete a great run like that! Congrats and teriffic stuff!
