Check out my new TTA 15 Blip Monster.
Great book! The monsters in that Incredible Hulk annual (5 or 6? It escapes me) are what got me into pre-hero. Blip. Taboo, Goom... can't beat 'em!

I spend 30 years collecting FF and you whippersnappers show up and start stealing the limelight, not that any of the limes i've ever owned actually lit up, and making me doubt my FF manhood. It doesn't matter that I've got 'em all, because any copy I toss up is a pale shadow of the beautiful, polished examples you guys are hoarding.
Of course I never really spent a lot of $$ on books, and believe me now I regret it, but it still stings. I guess I will console myself by reading my Spawn 1-100.
Nice books you rats.
I'm right there with you, Torchie. I remember passing up Kirby F.F.s in VF for $5 so I could buy 5 at $1 each. I was all about quantity in those days. In a way, I'm glad I did, because I have just about everything I want. But mostly, I'm a jealous, bitter old man.
But seriously, those are some wonderful comics, folks.

Early FFs rock!
Sure do! They also stretch, flame and turn invisible.
-
That's a gem!

When you read #100, be sure to enjoy the "soulpain" immortalized within. It will haunt you.
-
I hear you. There is something about those titles. I'm first and foremost an F.F. guy, but the torch tales are all must haves.
-
Congrats! Yours is better than mine!

Pull that trigger!
(Bear in mind that this is coming from a guy who considers every SA Marvel 1st appearance Kirby ever did a Must Have.)

I am a neat freak in every single aspect of my life with the exception of my Hobby. It is a nightmare in my comic room!!
...whereas my comic room is the only consistantly clean room in our house. Go figger.

Welcome to the boards, Jedi!
(The silver age is strong in this one...)
-
You're gonna have a good read there, friend.

...tape wasn't a defect.
I remember hearing that back in the day.
From dealers.
-
I've got all the silver age issues. Then I'm about 90% to #300.

ASM #8! Enjoy that Kirby goodness!

I think you can feel good about diving into the X-Men pool, Mac. Investment wise, they're a solid #2 behind Spidey, (or at least they will be).

Nice digs!

I'd love to have real comics on display, but I'm afraid of light damage.
It's a terrible thing to live in fear.

Those are sharp!

Holy cats, that's your old beater, isn't it?! I'd love to know what you sold it for!

What is going on with that showcase 4? (Condition wise.)
It's a gem, ain't it?
It has a little touch of white-out on the cover, and the main image of The Flash has been worn away and replaced with one from a reprint! (yipe.)
I'm not too condition-needy in regard to my SA D.C. keys; I just want a copy. I paid $500 for this thing in February of this year (or, rather, my wife did. It was my wedding present), but it's still the cheapest Showcase #4 I'd run across! The paper is decent and I'm just happy to have one.

In an unrelated vein, this message board has inspired me. I have sent my Fantastic Four #92 in to CGC to be graded. It's about as nice as I have and I'm realistically hoping for a 9.0. We'll see...
I know you were all dying to find out...
It just came back a 9.2!

Oh yeah? Well my copy has a huge spine roll, so it's bigger than yours.
So there. Na na na na na.

Cool comix, Mac! My copies might be a pinch prettier, but I got 'em when they were cheap. If I were buying them today, you and I would be after exactly the same kinds of books!

I went into my LCS yesterday and saw a 4 Color #9 and #178 for sale!
(Sorry. I just had to tell somebody that cared. This stuff is lost on my wife.)
