Hi everyone... I'm in the process of buying a new home, and I am cashing out my collection. Nothing major, the best things I have are mid grade ToS39 & Avengers 4, followed by a few grand worth of books in the $100-500 range. I have neither the time nor inclination to list them myself, so I am considering dumping them on one of the auction sites. Any advice on which would provide the best return for me? I did a basic search here and found nothing, my apologies if this topic has been discussed before. Thanks!

Hi everyone... I am preparing to move, and GotJunk are coming on Saturday to clear out my house. I have several hardcover books that will end up being tossed, and I'd rather find good homes for them if possible. There's an FF Omnibus, a bunch of cool books on pulps, some other comic stuff, etc. Send me a message if interested, must pick up before Saturday.

I imagine when we move on to whatever the next round the apocalypse brings (my money is on alien invasion) that the CGC board will be pretty busy with lookouts for stolen slab serial numbers. We seem to do a great job with that sort of thing.

I have to admit, as a huuuuuuuge R&M fan from early on, season 4 has turned me off to the series and I no longer watch. I can't quite put my finger on exactly why, but it just seems terrible to me now, which I hate because for three seasons it was some of my favorite tv of all time. .

Hey everyone...I've often wondered how many pages per day the King put out. I'm sure it varied greatly over time, but let's say during his 60's Marvel era where it seems like he had his finger in nearly every pie they baked. Any ideas? I've searched for this info online before and always came up empty handed. Thanks!

Is it me or has R&M lost something this season? I was an absolute fanatic in seasons past, and I was rabidly eager for season 4, but so far I am underwhelmed which is enormously disappointing.

The boards have opened my eyes to so many things. My real collecting was 1973-80 or so, and I was primarily a Marvel zombie to the point where I passed on so many great books. I returned to collecting in '08, when I joined this board, and I had no idea people took Archie comics seriously, or that things like Fiction House or Centaur even existed. I'm pretty much just a tourist now, I rarely ever buy anything, but if I did I would probably start with a Ricksneatstuff thread, books I never would have given a second glance to back when I was more active.

Depends on the group. I belong to a couple of Fb comics groups where the default mentality is, "if it exists, clean and press it," often accompanied by little or no knowledge of what pressable defect means.

I’m not sure if this is okay to post, and I’ll gladly remove it if requested. This is just a pretty cool looking bat chair that I think would be of interest to a few boardies. First let me say I have nothing to do with these chairs or the company that sells them, I do not benefit from this in any way. Nor have I seen one in person, so I cannot comment about build quality, comfort, ergonomics etc. It’s just a cool chair for a comics room. Source

This used to baffle me as well, until I realized that the actual books are secondary for some people who simply collect grades. I find this especially true on other comic sites where the members are perhaps a bit less sophisticated than on CGC; sites where "clean & press" is the default maneuver on anything below 9.8, often accompanied by no understanding of the concept "pressable defects." Trying not to sound judgmental here, my favorite book in my collection is a 4.0 and I sure would be happy if it were a 9.8, but some of the behavior of grade collectors just kind of has me shaking my head.
