You're welcome! Trying to rebuild this collection in the grades that you had before would be insanely expensive, and especially with those later issues in the 160-280 range where there are some pretty expensive books due to the such low print run. We very well know too that once Todd eventually passes on down the road, this series will continue and it will only make the sought out books even more expensive. I was trying to get every single issue for this run, but changed focus to just get the keys. I do have every single books from 1-40, but my #1 and #2 came back as 9.6's so still looking to replace those with a 9.8. The crazy part is my later books which have some of the lowest print runs came back as 9.8's and I have cleaned and pressed all of these books. Spawn collecting has really become competitive. I frequent many comic book shows on Facebook each week, and whenever Spawn books go up they don't last too long on the board. Agreed that some of the variants are insanely priced. Good thing with Spawn at least, the prices will not plummet badly like 85% of the other ratios and variants for books that start off so high and then can't hold their value. Gunslinger has become one of my favorites and I am still on the hunt for his first appearance in a 9.8. I do have the original cameo first appearance (#119) in a 9.6 and hoping that I could get a #174 in a 9.8 here at some point.

Loving your original and this thread. Surprised you did get rid of this collection. I would of had a hard time letting it go, considering the books you had in it and some of the grades you received were fantastic. I've been rebuilding my Spawn collection the last 2 years and some of the books in the last 180's and mid-200's were pretty expensive, but getting 9.8's was very satisfying.

Happy New Year to @CGC Mike and team. Thanks for all the help and fixing issues in a timely manner this past year.

Peach Momoko Appreciation Thread

One of my favorite Peach covers. I ended up getting one the week after release. I didn't like the price, but she did an excellent job on this cover. -
Spawn Goodness - Low Print Spawn
captainzombie replied to yoda12288's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Totally agree with you on the writing. It has been some of the weakest at times, but the art is insanely beautiful. I got back into collecting about 2 years ago after being a lapsed collector for 15 years. Spawn was one of the titles I went back to to collect. Instead of trying to get the whole run like I was, I switched focus and started hunting down the keys. I did send in plenty of the homage issues from the early 200's and got 9.8 on those. My focus is now to just get the Spawn keys and keep hoping the 1st appearance of GS Spawn (already have 119 in 9.6, but looking for 174 in 9.8) does drop a bit to add that. Gunslinger has become one of my biggest favorites to come out of this series. -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
captainzombie replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
I wish there was kind of governing body that would dictate what is a Cameo vs. 1st Full Appearance, etc. It should not be left up to the public or per say CGC to dictate what is a 1st full appearance. -

655 is still the book for Damian that is worth the money. Then 656 and 666 kind of tie, but 666 usually goes for quite a bit more as it’s a future story of him as Batman. -
Looks like mine finally got entered into the system.

I have a mixture of Modern and 1 Standard books submission that was received last week. Usually my books are opened and in the system within a day or two max of receipt, but Mike was saying they are very behind on opening boxes. Kind of crazy though if we pay for WK, EX, or ST and having our books still just sitting there.

For the amount of submissions I have sent in this year, I should have signed up for the Elite right off the bat.

Hi @CGC Mike, my dashboard just disappeared again. It was fixed as a few days ago, but then all of my submissions are gone as of this morning. -

CGC Submission Tracking Disappeared

LOL! I know that you guys were messing around. Just scary to see a Cat 4/5 gain so much power as it hits landfall and could only imagine the damage it caused. -
CGC Submission Tracking Disappeared

First and foremost, lets just hope that nobody got hurt. I know we all have some very expensive books sitting over there, but would hate to hear anyone passed away or got hurt really badly due to the severity of the storm. I am baffled if they are storing the submissions tracking data on site and they would not be using AWS. This could be part of the problem why we have all lost our submissions data on the site if all of this is on servers that they have on site and maybe power was lost. One guy I watch on YT who has visited the facility says its like Ft. Knox over there so it should hopefully be able to withstand any kind of damage. -

The first pic never loaded for me but I do see the new one you uploaded. Guess this must be a system wide issue. -

Thanks Mike! Is there anything you need from me? -
Has anyone else have had their submission tracking orders just all out disappear today? My oldest submission is 6 months old and then I have ones from 3-4 weeks ago submitted and everything has disappeared off of the board. Anyone else having this issue? Maybe @CGC Mike can chime in on this issue.

That is not bad at all. I sent in a 31 book submission about 5 days after you did so hoping that mine is not too far behind.
-
How many books did you have in this submission?
-
I was wondering the same thing. I was looking at the chart today for TATs and they went from 2-3x in the wrong direction. The Peach signing is a few weeks away and I think that the McFarlane signing isn't for a few months away. @CGC Mike do you know what has caused the TATs to increase this much in 1 weeks time?

Mighty Con DuPage (Chicago) - Saturday 9/10
captainzombie replied to manetteska's topic in Comic Events
This was a pretty good show overall. One of the dealers that was there was also at C2E2 and he remembered me since I had bought a ton there so he gave me a pretty nice discount. I did notice that some of the dealers are still charging some nutty prices for books. Books have been falling in prices the last few months, but some of these guys think this is still 2020/2021. I was going to buy a All-New Ghost Rider #1 from a dealer, the book looked like it was borderline 9.6 with a possible 9.8 if CGC would allow 1-2 things that were wrong with it. The guy tells me $200, and I'm like I've seen NM+/M copies for over $100-125. This is the kind of stuff I do not like when going to these shows. They did mention that there is one in Orland Park (G-Con) in 2 weeks and there is also one in Palos Heights next week. Stinks that I will miss out the one next week in Orland as we have prior plans. -

I have never attended Mighty Con before in the past. Is it a pretty decent show with some decent comic vendors? -

I think that Radiant Black #1 and just the overall series is good to spec on. This is just my opinion, but I do kind of see this being the next big Image universe where we see some type of animation. They have been trying really hard to build out this universe. I've been picking up quite a few of the #1's and getting them slabbed just waiting in the wings. I have also picked up a few of the ratios too as part of my PC. The overall series has been pretty good, but has had some lull points. I would even look at specing on the rest of the Radiant Universe books too.
