  1. They really could have done a better job with advertising these covers. I wonder what the 1:100 spoiler variant cover has on it.
  2. Yup, you can press foil covers. Just make sure to go with lower temps (125-135 degrees at most) and also do not put as much pressure on the book as you would with a non-foil. The other thing I do too, for example on a modern where I would leave it run for 10 minutes at the allotted temps, I just reduce the amount of time for a foil to 6 or so minutes. Find a few cheap foil books and practice if you can. Best of luck as I bet there are also other thoughts out there.
  3. You are not lying about that. These covers are really disappointing and the only one that has my attention is the 1:50 and I do like the group shots, but there is nothing unique here.
  4. It is great that you were able to focus and a series like TWD does need just that, FOCUS. I almost won a #3 l in 9.8 last night off of an eBay auction and lost it by $5 which sucks. For some odd reason, it seems like TWD #4 is quite expensive. I am not sure if the print run on it is very low compared to some of the rest of the books in the first 5 books. 19 is quite an awesome looking cover and overtime will be quite the iconic looking cover.
  5. @NickiO CS and @CGC Mike, most of the morning I have been seeing the following with my submission tracking. We haven't received any submissions from you in the last 8 months. Submit Now > Note: Your submissions won’t appear here until they’ve been entered into our system. To check if your package has been delivered to CGC's facility, click here. To find submissions older than 8 months, use the search tool by entering the full submission number including leading zeros (i.e. 0012345).
  6. Awesome thread and loved following through your adventure for this show. I took my sons on that Friday and it was a real blast as I had not gone to a Wizard World (now Fan Expo) in years. I actually enjoyed this show way more than C2E2 which I have been going to for the last few years. I had made a deal with a dealer at this show on a book that I had left at home, so I had to drive about 45-50 minutes back home that Friday morning to get the book and then come back to make the trade. I kind of found that there was more comic book dealers here than there was at C2E2. I could be wrong by my count, but it just felt like it. I am going to be an exhibitor at a small show next month and hoping that can lead to me also exhibiting at Fan Expo next year as there is some great potential there.
  7. Wow that’s some crazy TAT there. Guess it’s a tie. Lol
  8. You guys have to beat Instigator with the 2 day turnaround, now that is real boss like.
  9. Sorry, I should of been more clear. The ones that I have slabbed are: #6 (9.8) #7 (9.8) #8 (9.8) #9 (9.8) #10 (9.8) #25 (9.8) #27 (9.8) #33 (9.8) #53 (9.8) #61 (9.8) #100 (9.8) #193 (9.8) All of the rest of the books are raw and I am missing about 50 books total from having a complete set. It would be awesome to slab the entire series. When I got back into collecting comics, TWD was the one series I was set out to collect and then of course I got sidetracked. I'm also a ASM, Batman, and Spawn fan.....so you can only imagine how much I have gotten sidetracked. I bet the amount of money I spent on some of these other books, I could have finished up this collection along with having #1-5 in 9.8's. Taking a stupid detour and should of stayed focused. I'm like you, and hopefully my kids can enjoy this stuff down the road.
  10. That is awesome that you have the entire first 10 books. Every single slab that I have for TWD is in a 9.8. I will try to get books 1-5 in a 9.8 if I can, but I do fear that #1 may end up being a 9.6 if the prices do not come down any further. Like you said, these earlier books are just way too expensive. I am missing about 50 books total from looking at my CLZ app, which is not too bad considering the size of this series.
  11. While many that have been following this thread for as long as it has been active probably already have this book, but yesterday I was able to pickup TWD #19 CGC 9.8 at Fan Expo Chicago. I traded one of my Secret Wars 8 which was a newstand + mark jewelers in a CGC 9.4 along with a small amount of cash to one of the dealers. I could of sold the SW8 myself, but being able to trade for one of my modern day grails was worth it. Now from the big books in this series all I am pretty much missing from the collection is #1-5 which I hope to get over the next few years.
  12. Went to Fan Expo today. There was quite a bit of comic book vendors, and I felt like there was more than C2E2 in some respect. I picked up some decent books, but my favorite was getting one of my mini modern grails in The Walking Dead #19 in a 9.8. I made a trade with some cash to get this. I do have a nice chunk of this run, but really need to get #1-5 as I do have 6-10 in 9.8's and all of the keys after that in 9.8's.
  13. Thank you guys! I'll probably go with my sons on Friday as I just watched some videos from last years show and it appears like there are quite a bit of comic book vendors and my sons do like POP figures.
  14. Are there a lot of comic book vendors at the Expo? I always go to C2E2, but have never been to Fan Expo.
  15. I'm not hating on anyone, especially if you read through my message. Just saying it stirs the pot up a bit when those that see that and get angry that their books have been sitting at CGC for a month, while Greggy's books are done in days of receipt.
  16. I don't mean to be rude or anything since I don't know you and I'm a newcomer on these forums. With the backlog that has started again, why even post this, it only gets more people angry at you that your books get through in days while some have books sitting waiting for a month to be checked in.
  17. I still do really like the 1:100 spoiler cover. I just bought this today at a pretty good price. I do have to look into the TF #1 Ashcan that came out at SDCC.
  18. This and 175 are two of my favorite books in my PC. I bought both raw earlier this year and sent them in to be graded which both got a 9.8. Besides She-Spawn, I think that Gunslinger is the most popular hell spawn. Now he is going to be getting a second series soon.
  19. I'll wait to get this back as that book did get a 9.8 after seeing my grades this morning. Just odd. The other thing that I have noticed is that all of my other submissions were getting scans the last 2 months with the test trial they were doing, but this one did not. @CGC Mike did the pilot they were doing with the scans end now? LOL!
  20. Lol! I know that, been subbing the last 2 years. It’s the first time ever seen that as a Category. Interesting
  21. I submitted about 15 books and they are finally in the system, all of the books are modern books. Under the category they are marked as Modern which is usual for these books. I have one book that is marked as a "Universal" category. I have never seen that before for any of my subs and what does that mean?
  22. Since this book is not worth that much and you can just buy another one off the shelf, I'd keep this slab as a talking piece.
  23. Usually I'm pretty good at that, but with Venom being one of my favorite characters I fell into the trap well knowing that these ratios tend to drop off.
