  1. I think there's a difference between "undervalued in guide" and "underappreciated by fandom". I would consider the Menace issue, Mister Mystery 13 and Beware Terror Tales #8 in the latter category. The question is, are these books selling for way over guide now? We may believe that they _should_ be more appreciated than they are, but that's different than the guide not recognizing regular sales of the books for premium prices.

The Menace 11 and MM13 are, or at least have been for a few years now, been selling apprecaibly over guide, and neither is broken our.

Thanks for showing that Menace off Pov, now that has been added to the list!

Along with those The Thing books frustrated.gif

  2. Anyway, how long before the next stream of books from you?

I want to see how they do, might even bid 893whatthe.gif

Glad you mentioned. I'm putting all books in my posession that ISN'T House of Mystery on the chopping block this week. Anyone who has PMd me will get a list of books and prices to avoid any bidding war. After a few days I'll place them on the eBay selling block. This will also include a bunch of books that a certain somebody didn't pay me for... sumo.gif

  4. Big Kudos goes out to greggy.

After agreeing to purchase 2 books from him he agreed to let me wait and see if i won any of his eBay auctions to combine shipping.

Also thanks for finding me a nice Phantom Stranger 38 whilst at SD.

Great packaging, and kudos for acknowledging my current comic budget being low and letting me take some time paying thumbsup2.gif

Love the POS romance books aswell cloud9.gif

  5. Yo Shiv - I hadn't noticed the white ghosty face bottom right of the dress. Looks like it could be Casper's mom! Nice match for the white hand coming out of the casket!
I only just saw that too. crazy.gif

Does it come into the story?

Nope - not that I can see, anyway. To compensate there are a couple of really freaky stories including the blonde woman's head speaking out of a spider web and some panels in another story that look like the illustrations from Dante's Inferno! grin.gif

What is the thing in the coffin?

Might have to pick up a reader to see what the stories are like.

Actually it is in the, imho, least (art wise) of the three stories - called Body Beautiful. Basic storyline - man meets desireable woman, plots to kill undesireable wife, uses his own death as an alibi - and of course the twist ending. There IS a scene of him lying white-faced in the coffin. But the art, clothes and hair styles look for all the world like 70's tv - LOVE BOAT comes to mind! 27_laughing.gif

Sounds like one i might have to pick up.

Read any stories that you really recommend?

  7. I actually have CGC 9.4 copies of 225,227, and 229 (which is why they aren't on my wish list). I actually had two CGC 9.4 copies of 229 at one point. I have VF"ish" copies of all the 100 pagers, but nothing outlandishly HG. confused-smiley-013.gif
Well it is nice to see that you are still with us and that you kept your favourite title together as a set.

Some of the books you have are quite magnificent to say the least.

  8. Sorry, guys. I'm in a major deadline crunch right now. I'm editing two books, both due in early Sept. It's a publisher I haven't worked with before, so I need to do a good job. The one I'm doing right now is difficult because it's very poorly written. Taking all of my time. Haven't even had time to spend more than 3 minutes on the forum lately.

That stuff is more important than Crisis, Joanna.

Just remember us when you become a bigshot.

BTW, got some WW trades smirk.gif

  9. Nice report Bass,

Nice pickups too, good to hear you liked your MH shipment of books, any runs you ordered specifically?

Basically everything late 70s that they had in NM with a cool cover. HOM,HOS,WH,Ghosts and Unexpected. Yeah, I was happy with it. I am picky, but not anal with grading. I'll be going over them with a fine tooth comb later to see which books are CGC-worthy, along with my Chicago pickups. I'll wait until after I receive my second MH order and then make a submission to CGC. I think I am done buying for now though. Spent too much recently. Just slabbing and selling for now. My next big purchasing event will be Wondercon in Feb. Then San Diego in July again. ------Sid

Was there a HOM 236 involved?

'Cause if there is i would love to hear about the grade you assign shy.gif

Funny you mention that UV. Shiver asked the exact same question on my post in General. I saw ZERO copies of HOM #236 in Chicago, and that includes ANY grade. I guess that one is rare, huh? ----Sid

I think it is one of the rarest HOMs to find in nice shape, i think shiver would agree, i should be getting a nice VF or so when i get a bit of cash cloud9.gif

Anyone on there boards got a nice copy of HOM 236 in there collection?

Ah, but of course you have one.

    Got a picture? flowerred.gif
