Nice report Bass,
Nice pickups too, good to hear you liked your MH shipment of books, any runs you ordered specifically?
-
Nice book Bonds.
The cover artwork also appears on WH 38, the 100 pager, but it has an added speech bubble.
-
Of course i knewUV-drb's post is BS. But you already know that!I actually took the time to read this whole thread last week, time consuming it was.
-
I cannot do read all, it will take me the same amount of time either way, if i wait or if i read, but if someone finds it then
And where does it say that? Page?mrwoogieman would be my first choice in any grading competition in which I was a captain of a team and he was part of an available draft pool, because, although I don't know mrwoogieman and have not had any dealings with him whatsoever, from reading his posts I inherently know that he's first rate. If I were to be absent or otherwise incapacitated from selecting a draftee, I would without hesitation give UV or anyone else running a grading competition like that full authority to add mrwoogieman to my team.Yeah, I agree he would make a great addition to any potential grading team that might be formed in the future!
Gosh...hard to remember the page...just click on "show all" and read the entire thread again, I'm sure you'll find it in there somewhere?

Great to know you are happy with the sell through.Morning everyone. I was worried because the bidding was at less than half of my goal...everything fell together at the last minute. Several books I intended NOT to reach reserve, but alas, they did. The Witching Hour #3 and #14 comes to mind. Only 16 books out of 170 did not sell, pretty good in my opinion. To my surprise, no one hit the reserve on my SOHH #1 and #5 (Wrightson)
My thanks to everyone who bid and took part! This will definitely help both my mom and myself and relieves a bunch of stress. Now, the invoicing, packing, and shipping begins....
In about a month, I'll bring out the "REAL" mystery books (DC that is). I have about 120 books coming back from CGC that will hit the streets in about 6 weeks as well.
Sterling
Can't wait to see the 'REAL' books up.

He is on the boards.Hope nobody's hijacked the buyer's account.....
That is insane.....just crazy.....how much total did he spend?
Congrats Sterling!
Jim
I think he is the one that 'bought' JP's ASM 1
He is buying up HG everything apparently.
Ohhhh.....he's that guy....
Well more power to him I guess.....
Jim
That is alot from Sterling, a few didn't hit reserve though i believe.

UV - that almost made it! i love it to death too! I may expand it to 50 covers anyway, and then there is certainly room for that one. We'll see!
It is a fantastic cover, it would be in my top 50, but that is me
-
Holy [!@#%^&^] those are some mighty fine books Khaos. They are getting better as you post them.
Shiver, i just noticed one cover you don't have on your list which i think is the best horror cover Marvel ever did.
-
I don't know if anyone will agree with me but i think this cover is quite good. The mist and shadowed monsters, the moon shining brightly, horror cover at its simplest, but still quite effective.
-
I wanted to give this thread a bit of a kick boost because it has been a bit slow lately.
Shiverbones has a top 40 comic horror covers and he says that people should give feedback about it and whether they agree or not, so i thought we could help out by submitting a few covers here that are great but not on the list to help out.
Here is a link to the top 40

Keep posting these great covers guys.
Last night i was getting kinda bored on the forums so i decided to read this thread from the start and i have to say you are seriously making me consider turning into a full on BA horror collector.
Some of these covers are fantastic, HOM 236 has to be one of the best covers i have seen from HOM.
So keep posting guys.
And if someone has a nice run of Ghosts i would love you to post it, # 11 has to be my favourite cover from that run so far.
-
I was only looking at the cover, but damn Khaos that is a mighty fine bookI really love this cover. Great perspective view. Must find copy of this issue.
-
I love that # 44, fantastic Khaos
Got any other horror comics?
-
That is a good summaryOh, geez. So she's a slut and works for Darkseid? -
1000th post!!
That is great. Just perfect. "1000th post!!"
You take this beautiful, touching and above all CREATIVE thread and you tinkle on it with your "1000th post!!" and then you seek
No, this thread, this Crisis, will never HAVE a true 1000th post. YOU have seen to that. Your insane craving for acclaim has sullied this one-time chance for a truly meaningful, thought-provoking post to honor such an ocassion.
But NO! NOOOO! "1000th post!!"
Don;t be sorry. You still have time to edit that into a truly meaningful post! One that deserves to be the 1000th post!!!!!!!!! Fly, now. Fly and bring this thread real !!!!!!!!!
Did you drop your medication again?
Now go back to your padded room

There are a few IDW ones you might consider picking up, 30 Days of Night, Dark Days, Return to Barrow etc.I believe there was only one issue or so.Does anyone have any recommendations on books I can purchase today in Moderns to feed my need for horror? I've heard a few but a comprehensive list would be nice.
Thanks for the info, pck.
Vampire stuff mostly

Did that ever amass to a run?BTW, are there any current/Modern horror/mystery books on the market? Are there any talks of bringing back HOM? Can we sign a petition?
Sterling, there are plenty of these books on the market right now. In fact, horror has within the last year or so made itself a viable genre with smaller publishers again. That is one reason why I review many modern books in my fanzine, because I know that most "advanced" collectors are caught up in a back-issue vacuum, completely oblivious to the current comic market.
As for HoM, I haven't heard a peep about it coming back, but I don't think you can ever count that out. Frankly, I'm surprised DC/Vertigo hasn't leapt at the chance to cash in on the current popularity of horror comics, and Marvel as well. Marvel has released the Essential Tomb of Dracula and The Witches ( Dr. Strange type stuff), but they haven't delved into true anthology horror yet. As for Vertigo, I would have thought they would be all over it by now, but they are completely missing the boat. I'm very let down!
It would be cool to see HoM back, but i don't see DC/Vertigo and Marvel doing anything about it.
It just looks like IDW are going to rule the Horror section of comics in moderns

The Perez (?) Modern run which Joanna recommended.Hey UV, which Wonder Woman issues were you looking at reading? -

I am not buying HG readers, i will ruin themI am sure Metropolis will have a nice run of BA ones up.I will pick up the Modern ones first though, don't want to plop loads of $$$ on archives without knowing what to expect.
WW back issues tend to be really cheap until you get pretty early in the first series. So you should be okay with the finances. (Unless you're going for super high grade. Then I have no idea, as I never went for high grade anything).
Just low grade POS copies.
