I got screwed, as I know I asked for the scans before you!
You have all just witnessed the day greggy actually had a book he really wanted stolen from under his nose
Joint top census would do me fine with this fairly rare book

I love it when a plan comes together!I believe you missed my point here.I miss everything....all goes over my head...did I tell you I ride the short yellow bus? Just a little stress getting my auctions together
But in any event, value is in the eye of the beyonder...

They are going for auction?
Man, with the books from Bob, sterling's and greggy's auctions WTF am i gonna do???

The Ghosts 112 sold for 199.99
I just can't believe these speculators! Imagine paying nearly $200 big ones for an CGC 10.0 all the way from 1982. Could have made a much better investment by paying 4 to 6 times more for a rare CGC 10.0 right off the newsstand from 2004.
Lou,
The Ghosts was purchased by a board member who happens to like and collect 10.0 books--and he likes the genre. He didn't buy it for the "investment" value--that's what he likes. Although I don't agree with the price paid relative to the whopping OS guide of $5--the last issue is somewhat elusive in terms of availability and high grade. In other words, to each their own. I mean--he could've done much worse--like a 10.0 UFF for $500 that went very recently. And the seller set the reserve for $200-there really wasn't a bidding war past $100.
, didn't the UFF 1 10.0 go for $800?

I missed it
Yep $199.99
Ah well

Wow, anyone looked at valiantman's census New Highest yet?
A few horror comics have got new top census books, but the one that impressed me the most is Ghosts 112 it has gone from 9.6 to 10.0
What do you think that would fetch on the market?

"Ve are merely soldiers, like you. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Oberleutnant Schomburg. And you are my prisoners."
-
Sterling i really like your idea for the books, but if you put them on during the American evening then i will not be there and the books i want might be gone.
Help an English brother out here

OT a bit but connected to horror comics.
Do any of you know who this weweir person is?
He is bidding on alot of the horror books and was also bidding against me at greggy's auctions.
He a board member?
He bids on a lot of books I watch. Most times he is the first opening bid.
Bonds' shill?

Just please tell me you like Cream to Off-White pages

Ok...getting late soEspecially when it involves sweet...sweet DCs!You mean sweet, sweet National Periodicals.
It sucks not being on when most of the activity is happening, you be on at lunch you two?

Shouldn't you get some sleep so you can write some more Crisis for us fanboys?
-
It has to be one of my faves so far.
Woo Hoo!!
I guess I should've put you in this one. I was torn between putting you in or putting in Puny Human, and I chose him because it was easier to make a gangster name out of his handle. Sorry.
I think my name is better suited being something to do with poison or a snake.
Keep up the good work

Sweet joanna.
Some great comic stuff in there.
I had to make sure it wasn't OT.

"No one is going to be reading anything!" snaps Mylite, his hands shaking at the thought of an inadvertently cracked spine. -

Thrill bid only. Already have a 9.4. Plus, the seller's reserve seems to be high. Really want his other books though...and don't forget those absolutely fabulous DC 100 pager issues--if you want a challenge, go after them. Make sure you PM icefires to let him know tooWhich one 'ya get?
Already after them after that sweet one from greggy
I got his Unexpected 157, now a 9.4 has popped up and greggy is after it
Yeah that is a pretty sweet HOM 204.

After looking at this thread since it started i have really enjoyed all of the covers and DC talk, so i have decided to defect to DC from Marvel and will now be part of the horror group that i love so much.
Welcome! We love it all, Charlton, DC, Marvel, whatever....although there is an overwhelming census that DC rocked the roost during bronze for horror (and most other ages, IMHO).
They did rule in the bronze age no question.
They aren't as expensive as Marvel.
Much better covers.
Much harder to find for the thrill of the hunt.
Defecting was a no brainer
Competiton to much for ya greggy?
