  1. Hello All

As we work to handle the backlog of requests on the Registries, please know that moving forward we will be prioritizing new set requests based on their competitive viability.

While we appreciate that many of you would like a set for every individual card in your inventory, we also have to work to improve what already exists on the Trading Cards and Sports Cards registries. Competitive sets are meant to represent every card on the set checklist. Many of the sets that exist currently need to be updated so that they can provide that complete measure.

You're free to make requests of course, but we'll be prioritizing those from requestors whose inventories reflect greatest competitive viability for the set requested.

I'll remind everyone that the primary function of Competitive sets is to foster competition for the Awards. Competitive set participants are considered based on their completion rates first and foremost.

I will also ask everyone to help us to address this backlog by utilizing the request forms to their fullest extent. Please review the following guidance.

    Slot Requests:

Please use the actual slot request form for existing sets. It is found within the set that you're requesting the slot for:

We do not need individual slot requests for the same set. Each request can be used for up to 5 certification numbers.

    New Set Requests:

Please provide details for the set you'd like. In this example, the request indicates the TCG, the Era (or subcategory), specific set, and set code the requestor wants to collect. The more detail given the better. It helps us to build what you want.

Each set request will accept up to 7 certification numbers. Please do not submit individual requests per certification number for the same set.

If any of you have any questions about submitting a request, please reach out to myself or @jstam and we will be happy to assist.

    Hello CGC Admins,

Received back a recent order and when attempting to add cards to my registry I receive the error that cards are not found in the database.  I receive this error on the (3) registry numbers below:

    6000799001

    6000799002

    6000799003

They are cards that were sent in for the dual CGC/JSA grading.  A screenshot of the error I am getting is shown below.  Can this please be fixed so that I can add the cards to my inventory.  Thanks!

    Hi CGCCS,

Hope all is well.  I recently upgraded a card in my collection from a 9 to a 10. When I entered it into my inventory and went to add it to my registry set, I was surprised I was not prompted to replace the 9.  It seems like the card may have two separate slots assigned.

    CGC 9 - https://www.cgccards.com/certlookup/1021323003/

    CGC 10 - https://www.cgccards.com/certlookup/1401039661005/

I believe the issue may be that the 9 was labeled as "Retail" while the 10 is missing this attribute.  This is indeed the retail version of the card.

Also, a second issue is I cannot add this card ( https://www.cgccards.com/certlookup/1021323001/ ) to my registry.  This card is the hobby version.  When i attempt to add it, it will only give me the option to replace the retail version.

    Thanks!

    Hi!

Regarding the first issue, cert #s 1021323003 and 1401039661005 are labeled as two different cards. If they are both the retail version, then you would need to contact customer service and let them know you think cert # 1401039661005 is labeled incorrectly.

And regarding your second issue, if it is the hobby version then it would be the same issue as above. It's not labeled that way in the system, so you would need to contact customer service for this one as well.

Let them know for both that you believe these two certs are mechanical errors and give them the details, that one is the retail version but not labeled as such, and one is the hobby but not labeled as such and they can look into it and assist you further.

You can contact customer service at service@cgccards.com

Hello, I am trying to add a 2023 Topps Finest Flashbacks #179 Albert Pujols Registery Number 1401028167019. Every time I try to add the card I get the following error. An unexpected error has occurred. Please refresh the page to confirm that you are signed in and then try again. I have added diffferent cards before and after I get this error. Thank you for looking into to this.

This is a known issue that we are working to resolve. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. In the meantime, the card does come up correctly in the certification look up tool if you need that for selling or trading purposes. Here is a link to the cert look up: https://www.cgccards.com/certlookup/1401028167019/

I will let you know as soon as I have more information.

Hi! Im not sure if this has been answered before so forgive me in advance. But if I want to reach out to someone who has cards in a registry that I'm interested in collecting, is there any way I can reach out to them? Or do they have to create a forum login, etc.

There are two ways to message someone.

You can send a private message through the chat boards, just click on the envelope and in the "To" field you can start typing their username. If nothing comes up, then they do not have an account on the chat boards.

The second way is through the collector's society site. On the left side of the screen will be a "Find Members" search box, you can type in their username name and hit search. When the person's information comes up, there will be a "Send Message" button. User's do have to enable this feature, so if the person you are trying to reach has not enabled it then you would not be able to message them.

Couple of follow ups with this one related to this set.  Any reason why the anniversary set shouldn't be moved to the "Key Sets" category like Baseball and Hockey?  Also, any chance of getting Hall of Fame RC sets for the other sports?  These would get a lot of traction I think.

Thanks for the suggestion for a Key Sets category for Basketball. For new set requests, I would recommend submitting a set request via the form on the registry if you have not yet done so.

I have been having trouble with my set lists not loading. Anybody else having this problem?

I checked some of of your sets and everything loaded OK for me. I would recommend clearing your cache and then trying again. If you're still having trouble once you do that, please let me know specifically which sets are giving you trouble and we can look into it.
