Exactly, the word "warming" has very literally been the biggest detriment to what should've been a globally accepted movement.  We have a family friend who was one of the early researchers (gatherers of data/analyst) and she said there was a lot of debate about what to officially call the "phenomenon"...  There were concerns people would lose site of the bigger picture because of that single word, "warming".  At the time most of them never even considered these facts would be argued or debated.  It was supposed to be the movement that united countries...

It's not so much about that there have been fluctuations in temperature over time, as everyone understands.  It's unfortunate that what is a totally legitimate movement for environmental protections aimed at, say, Co2, habitat loss, species extinction, water pollution, density of plastics in the ocean, etc etc, has been tied with the word "warming" so that anytime the year is colder or something a bunch of hayseeds post #globalwarming! all sarcastically and discount anything even tangentially related to it.  The part that I don't get is: what is it that the scientists are advocating for that offends the global warming hoax people so much.  It's not like they're coming to take your guns.

I don't really see the problem.  Some things aren't worthy of being discussed, and you don't need the alternate viewpoint.  Like say you want to make a thread talking about how vaccines cause autism and spam your views on that.  Or pro-nazi talk.  Etc.  Sorry, you deserve moderation.  Some things are more important than your "freedom" to post nonsense, potentially harmful nonsense, on a message board.
Now where I would have a problem is this.  If someone made a thread about who the top comic book artist was of all time, (Kirby), and modded/suspended/warninged anyone who disagreed.  Now that would be worth complaining about.  But if you are spewing off about how humans aren't f'ing the environment, or masks drop your oxygen levels, or vaccines cause autism, then I'm glad you got moderated.

Being born into certain circumstances which you cannot choose and choosing to be on a message board are not comparable “like it or leave it” situations, as you have suggested.  There are other online places to discuss comics, global warming, etc. and you can find a competitor that brings you more utility any time you like. It’s like leaving McDonalds to go to Burger King, not struggling for human rights. For the love of God man.

Comparing the idea of complaining on a comic book message board to the Civil Rights movement is laughable.

I am talking about a particular site - not a thread - dedicated to action figures.   It can still be a wealth of information due to what is posted but engaging with the members there is like engaging with a grouping of toddlers with only one tonka toy between them.
I choose not to engage and silently watch them fight amongst themselves.
If you feel that you are so mistreated here.  You can stay and continue to be mistreated or leave.
I don't think you are mistreated.  I think that you behave a certain way and you receive the consequences of your actions.

    Because this isn't 'Civil Rights'
This a message board for comic collectors.
This is not about turning a firehose on someone over the color of their skin because they walked into a diner through the front door.
This is a privately owned message board that owns the sandbox that they allow you to play in.  You may get the dimples in your underwear all messed up over that but the rules here are pretty lax.  You yourself have told me that the moderation over on whatever that thing they call at CBCS is even tighter.
So do not compare this to a Civil Rights movement.

    Sooooo....conspiracy theory 101.

It has not been much of a secret that I was a "volunteer"  mod, I posted in purple when I was signed in my Mod ID long ago and everyone jumped on the error...and posted it and probably laughed about or cried.
The volunteer mods are just that, unpaid volunteers who were "volunteered".
I didn't even know who some of the people were.
It was a secret because Arch set it up that way.
I think I was the only screw up, everyone else was anonymous.
Volunteer mods have limited powers. To the best of my knowledge, we all have pretty much the same access and I know *I* cannot see a pm unless you report the PM by hitting the report button or copy it. I think I've seen 3 in 8 years.
Personally, I don't want to see your PMS, TMI.
To the person who was worried that we could see the real prices of stuff, we cannot, nor would anyone want to as far as I know.
The Admins on the other hand, are paid people who most probably can see your PMs, I've never been an Admin so I can't bet the house on it, but I'd bet a comic. I know that Arch could if he wanted, I know that some other Admins could, but I'm not sure if it's everyone AND I don't think they ever look, but if you were planning on taking over the planet and wanted to plan it online and use this forum, it's probably not the best place to make those plans.
Admins do review things the volunteer mods take care of, maybe not every single itsy bitsy time, but they do look and they certainly look if someone complains. Hence some things have been modified.
I'm not saying it's been as vigilant since Covid, but it does happen.
I'm sorry the software is all messed up. I had nothing to do with it, but I'm still sorry.

I've just watched it on Amazon Prime.  Consistently good stories throughout.  Well-balanced, I thought, with high school drama for the younger audience, and a lot of Justice Society and other Golden Age characters to keep me engaged and which I thought were generally interpreted really well and with great effects for a TV series.  With 4K upscaling some of the actors, including the lead, look noticeably too old for high school, but that's commonplace anyway.  Showing the classic teams and characters that I've always been very fond of and the newer legacy characters; Johns successfully, very impressively, transforms his great Stargirl and JSA comics into live action here.
