  1. Thanks for the quick reply Nick. What would I do about sending the card back to be relabeled if the website isnt working?
  2. Hi there. So I got a return back from CGC the other day and a card had the wrong label on it. I had submitted a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from Duelist Pack Kaiba and it was labeled Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon instead. I am trying to send it back through the mechanical error option on the CGC website but am having an issue. Here is a screenshot of what is happening. I am clicking look up card and nothing happens and I cant proceed further. Trying to see what to do about this. Cert # of the card is 4239231020.
  3. Hi there. I recently subbed this Lugia V Alt Art as an error since it appears to have some miscoloring on it yet it didnt get an error grade. Here is the card for reference. https://www.cgccards.com/certlookup/4169147001/ This Lugia has more purple on it compared to a regular copy which can be seen here: Is the miscoloring just not a significant error or was something missed?
  4. It appears all of orders from 12/6 were shipped today. 12 day TAT is not too bad. Got good amount of 10s. Im just guessing the thanksgiving holiday got in the way, which was fine, but wish someone at CGC would have at least told me that. Overall cant complain too much. Ill prob send CGC some more cards but certain types of cards (mostly Pokemon english) just still arent worth sending in since the grades tend to be low and 9.5 just isnt that great of a grade for modern cards. The Japanese cards are almost always 10s but english being 9.5s at best, it just doesnt make much sense. I get the card quality of English isnt perfect, but at some point it just doesnt make sense to sub them if its a losing proposition value wise. And im subbing the best english cards that I can find no less. Close to perfect centering, no whitening, etc. still only getting 9.5.
  5. I was here in the beginning and left very quickly once the TAT's spiraled out of control lol. Trust me, I remember when these services were unusable and the average grade CGC would give out was 8.5, making the service completely pointless and if anything a waste of money. Its improved but I was just mentioning the elephant in the room (the competition) starting to become more attractive than CGC. At least now I am getting 10s and the orders are coming back in a reasonable time, but now with the times starting to slow down and still too many 9.5s for my liking, Im not too sure I wanna sub again. If the TAT's were like how they were a month ago, yeah I might give it a shot. And if the cost of grading goes down, sure maybe thats an incentive. But until anymore changes, I might just hold off.
  6. Just an update on one of my November orders, it finally hit grading. Im just going to assume no work was done during the thanksgiving break, which is fine with me, but kind of wish there was some word from CGC in terms of why TAT's have changed. My order will probably be done sometime this week or next, which makes it almost a month of TAT. Not that Im mad about it, but when the competition is starting to outperform CGC, it just makes me reconsider my options.
  7. Yeah Im lil confused too since my orders have been going through well and now there is some backlog out of nowhere with no real notice. My data entry still hasnt even been completed and when I reached out to customer support, they didnt really tell me what is going on. Im hoping to hear some feedback about whats going on since to have a sudden change like this is kind of strange.
  8. Ah ok that all makes sense now. Thanks for the response! Also one last thing, is OC considered an error or not? Since I was on ebay the other day and saw this cert: 4150619002 which had the error designation and OC and both my card and theirs have the same issue. Is there any differences between the two? And is the lowest you can get on the centering subgrade still an 8 or can it go lower? Since I was wondering how my Aerodactyl V got an 8 but if you were to add up the averages, if the centering was an 8, then the lowest grade it could get is 8.5.
  9. Alright. I still need my questions answered about the last sub that I sent an email about since there is some inconsistency issues with the error grading. One card had a square corner and didnt get the error grade. One card got OC + subgrades and another just minor miscut and the other 3 cards didnt get any error designation. If my email or my questions about this can be clarified, that would be greatly appreciated. I sent an email a week ago about this and havent heard anything, so some response on the issue would be great so I know moving forward what cards I can sub for error and which ones I cant.
  10. Hi again. Is operations just behind a bit more than usual? I just ask since my order has been sitting for about a week and it usually moves faster. And usually information would be updated by now.
  11. Sure no worries. I know with the holidays things are backed up so no rush. Also on my recent submission, which is #4162404, theres an item thats in research. I didnt realize that you can add your own info into a card that you want graded. The item that was missing is a Yugioh Monster Reborn from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters Millennium Scenes Blu-ray & DVD that came out this year in 2022. The Shivan Dragon is also a promo from the Japanese MTG 30th Anniversary promo series.
  12. Hi there. I recently got an order shipped and I had 3 questions about it. 1) Cert 4162405002 is showing 3 9.5s and an OC grade and the final grade is 9. Shouldnt it be 9.5? And if not, what does the OC grade do to a score? And is this any different than an error Miscut? Since I paid for an error service, not a subgrade one. Was not sure when subgrades apply and the miscut error would apply instead. 2) Cert 4162405001 had a square corner and it wasnt designated as an error, is that correct? 3) The other 3 cards from my sub were extremely off centered and didnt get the OC and or error/miscut grade. What is the criteria for OC exactly?
  13. ebay and PWCC are your best resources. And check completed sales, not current buy it nows since what it actually sells for is what matters, not what others are trying to sell it for.
  14. Sure but is 15 dollars verses 10-12 really going to change much? Its not really a deal breaker I feel like. They would have to go down to like 7-8 dollars per card before people really consider sending more cards in and not even sure if the market is even really there anymore in general. Like with most modern pokemon cards its just not really worth it to send in like 90 something percent of them since the centering is so bad on most of them. So that just really leaves modern Japanese Pokemon, a handful of vintage and maybe some other random TCGs. According to GemRate on twitter, CGC grades 24.7k cards per week. They arent really hurting as it is and not sure how much more business they can really get. The market has just changed alot to where nobody really cares about grading like they did during the pandemic.
  15. I think thats a fair analysis. I cant see how low their prices can really go though. 10 bucks a card lol? That would be pretty crazy. Then again they did have 7 a card when they first opened so theres that. Turn around times are already pretty fast so not sure what else they can really offer at this point. We have hit a point to where grading bulk cards has just become a complete waste of time again, which is normal since it used to be that way even with PSA back in the day. Not really worth sending in any cards sub 30-40 dollars for resale most of the time. Some cards have to hit perfect 10 just to be profitable. But thats kind of norm and we just have finally gotten back to the grading norms of 2018-2019.
  16. Depends on what cards your looking at. Modern being low on 9.5s? Well yeah, they arent rare 9.5s for modern cards. 10s do fine. Same with vintage 9.5s. And anything under depending on what it is does fine. I dont think the price of CGC slabs has been that bad. I sell alot of them myself on a daily basis and dont see that many issues, providing that the cards you have are actually rare. Its not like 2020 anymore to where any card in a slab has any value. You have to have cards that people are really looking for or in the top condition. As for the 25 card limit, you will just have to put aside a decent amount of cards. Its not hard to hit 25 cards if you just wait on subbing until you hit that amount. It probably takes a bit if your not subbing all the time, but if you want to save money well there you go.
  17. The turn around time for PSA and BGS is way longer. Most of my CGC orders are done in one week. CGC is also alot more accurate than BGS and PSA most of the time. PSA gameplays too much with grades and BGS has been slacking as of late. Very unlikely people will go back to BGS since they have been going downhill for a while and its not really worth the time trying to chase a black label that your never going to get.
  18. Maybe the stuff they take in person takes longer since it only takes me 1-2 weeks when I mail stuff in. And if you asked for a pedigree, it takes longer. I just know with the hurricane they been backed up and they been slow this week. Id message Mike if your really concerned. But I do expect that the storm just slowed them down quite a bit since not only were they closed, but then they had to take time to catch up.
  19. Ive gotten 10s on alot of CGC cards but sometimes its just a flip of a coin if a card gets a 10 or not. Ive noticed that centering that is close to 50/50 gets 10s, while at PSA its closer to 60-65/35-40. Outside of centering being perfect and lack of whitening, its beyond me to what really qualifies as a 10 since Ive seen 9.5s with no issues and wonder why some arent 10s. In the case of the OP, Im not sure why their cards only get 7s. If I had to guess, there could be some tiny dent or bent since I cracked a few CGC 7's and 7.5's today that looked fine but had some minor issues that were questionable and could be higher graded elsewhere. Id say normally CGC is fine but Ive definitely had some cards come back that are indeed under graded, but sometimes Ive had it cards over graded, so it goes both ways. CGC is better than PSA most of the time, especially with turn around time and pricing, but I guess all grading companies just make mistakes time to time and its just the nature of the beast.
  20. The issue with graders notes on bulk cards is that you can only buy the notes before the card is graded, so if your submitting a card thinking there is no issues, why would you buy the notes? Unless the cards are expensive enough, your not going to buy the notes in the first place. And you cant get the notes after the fact, since its similar to subgrades in that unless your prepaying, your never going to know what was wrong with your cards. I just dont think the average person is going to pay extra on lower end stuff to get graders notes. If you get a card and there looks to be no issues, your just going to accept whatever grade is given. Im not sure exactly what a practical solution would be, but paying extra and waiting more on bulk stuff doesnt seem like it makes logical sense in most cases. I can only see people buying graders notes when there is some obviously noticable defect or if the card is expensive enough, but if there isnt anything obviously wrong, I cant see why someone would second guess their card and pay more money for an explanation. I personally cant see a reason why Id ever want graders notes since the cards arent valuable enough for me to care about the reason why they came back the way they did. If the card is expensive enough and I dont like the grade, I just crack it and send it elsewhere since theres just certain perimeters that CGC goes by while other companies dont. The only thing I think CGC could do is making the standards more streamlined since when it comes to say centering, its unclear what CGC's standards are on it sides it just being harsher than the competition, but no #s on what the standards actually are.
  21. Hard to tell with the lighting in the pic they provided. Not sure if its only half foiling since unless its being reflected in a pic, then you cant really tell. If its only half foiling then yeah it would be a misprint but that wasnt mentioned in the OPs post.
  22. The foiling pattern is known as the galaxy and or cosmos pattern. Its not a misprint.
  23. My problem with graders notes is that they will just lead to longer turn around times and increased costs. They seem like an ok idea on high end cards, but Im not going to waste more money to find out why a 30 dollar card got a 9.5 instead of a 10. That just doesnt seem practical at all. Outside of centering issues, Im not seeing what the big deal is about english cards. If I can get 50/50 centering, then I get a 10 most of the time. As for surface, have no idea what issues CGC is seeing that Im not seeing. And similar to the graders notes, Im not investing much resources into figuring out why my low end cards arent coming back high grades. I think thats a bit over the top to need jewelers loupes or UV lighting or whatever the naked eye cant detect on cards that go into the bulk tier. The average person isnt going to devote that much energy just to try to get a 10 on lower end stuff.
