  1. This thread seems to have turned into a Tec 29-37 thread. We need to add some variety.

How about this one? Second nicest after only the Church copy.....

    tec45_9.0md.jpg

Tec #45 is another underrated (IMO) book.

3rd appearence of the Joker and his 1st story-appearence in Detective Comics.

    Amazing, amazing book. :applause:

Yours looks quite sharp to say the least. (thumbs u

  2. tec39.jpg

Feels great to be posting in the Tec thread again!

Is that Alex's old copy? hm

    Congratulations. :applause:

Tec #39 is a fantastic book; on the rise IMO.

It is my understanding that the cover for Tec #39 was the original cover planned for Tec #38 (but they decided to go with the splash instead).

13th appearence of Batman, 2nd appearence of Robin, 1st cameo appearence of Clayface in the final-panel, and a full-page add for Batman #1. Combine that with the return of Wong and Julie Madison from the Pre-Robin Tec days and you have one amazing book. (thumbs u

  3. My question to D33Kid is...

Where is your Tec #33...or did the mice have a Christmas banquet and finished the leftovers?

Or have I asked that one before? (shrug)

Seriously, what happened to your book...and why the name change? :baiting:

Lets just say that I am currently in the middle of a transaction, the details of which I will be happy to share on the boards the moment it is complete.

What I can tell you is that I changed my display-name because I no longer own a copy of Detective Comics #33; and preferred to update my display-name to something a bit more generic to the Batman character while still retaining my love for GA Tecs. (thumbs u

I like your new profile pic (thumbs u

    Thanks!

    Me too.

  4. Display-name changed from "Detective33Kid" to "Wayne-Tec".

Not having posted much in the Batman threads for the last 2 months, I am grateful for the hint in your sig, I would have had no idea who you were and would have thought there was someone new collecting Pre Robin Tecs :sumo:

    No problem. (thumbs u

I usually hang out in the GA section the most; especially in the Batman/Tec threads. I included the note in my sig line to make sure that everyone knows that I am the same guy.

Having been posting here for well over 2 years now and being a regular of the GA section, I wouldn't want anyone to think that I left. :hi:

Display-name change to be explained in greater depth then I already have in the Pre-Robin Tec thread the moment my current transaction is complete. :cloud9:

  5. 31 all day long for me. :sumo: (If you could not guess from my icon)

Though there is an overwhelming favor of 29 here on the boards, at least it seems. hm

Both books are incredible and will always be an incredibly tough call.

I hate to tell you Alex but 29 is waaay cooler someday you will understand when your older

(thumbs u The story in 29 is much better than 31. But 31 is a better cover. A cover that is published as the back cover to the giant DC anniversary book has to be pretty important.

No im just kiddin with you, but i honestly dont know which one id pick given the choice of the 2 sitting in front of me. While i like the story better in 29 than 31, the 31 has such an iconic cover, but 29 is so cool cause batman looks very mysterious to me.

Tec #29 and Tec #31 are both so great, it's such a tough call that to me could honestly change on any given day of the week.

I give the cover-edge to Tec #31 but still feel Tec #29 to sport one of the greatest GA covers of all-time.

Both stories are fantastic, but the 1st appearences of The Monk, Julie Madison, the Batplane, and the Baterang sway me in favor of Tec #31.

But, Tec #29 is still an earlier (even if not by much) appearence of Batman and the rarity factor adds an additiona level of intrigue; although that is not to say that Tec #31 is an easy-find by any means.

    Tec #29 = 11 out of 10.

    Tec #31 = 11.5 out of 10.

Although my ratings could change by sunrise. ;)

  6. 31 all day long for me. :sumo: (If you could not guess from my icon)

    Very True, great book btw.

  8. can't recall if I posted this in this thread, but thanks to Gator, Andre, Dark Knight for their parts in making this happen. Also, thanks to those (Ferdelance, Vtcomics, Jamie Graham, Ciorac, Kyptospidey) who bought books from me so this prize could be had. :cloud9:

    MyTec29CGC35crowNEWscanLabel.jpg

    Great book :cloud9: , I rate 29 much higher than the 31

That's a VERY tough call IMO. (shrug)

  9. Thanks guys!

@ mt1000 - yes but only if you help me find a 27

    @tfa1998 - :cry::cry::cry: Not a 29 either.

Do you have a 28? why did i think u did (shrug)

This was just a shot of my Bat covers. My coverless 28,30 CGC 3.5 ,32 raw, and coverless 34 are not pictured.

(And I actually just very recently sold my 28  )

O i gotcha you should take a pic with all them in it

    IMG_2143.jpg

    All but 28

    Another AMAZING group shot. :o:o

There's one book in that group that is so amazing, I can't take my eyes off of it. :cloud9:

  10. Just wanted to give this thread a lil bump.. Happy 2011 everybody

Nothing better than a fresh Pre-Robin Tec Run (I'm particularly fond of the 33). (thumbs u

But at this point all I can do is sit back and be envious because officially as of yesterday afternoon, I am no longer a member of the Pre-Robin Tec Club. :sorry:

But provided it's okay with all of you guys, I'll still hang out here without my membership card because... this might very well might be the coolest club on the boards.

Sorry to hear you are not part of the club anymore :sorry: But I am sure in the near future you will be back in the club. Was it the Tec 33 that you sold recently?

Lets just say that I needed to part with my Tec #33 to land something... :cloud9:

    Keep going keep going...

I'd love to, but would prefer to wait until the book is in-hand and the transaction is complete. ;)

  13. Finally, finally, finally...

    Wow Jeff! :o

I was just looking through some of the older pages of this thread, and then I see this.

What an AMAZING acquisition; there's truly no other way to put it. :golfclap:

Not only is Superman #1 one of the greatest books in the history of our hobby, it's also a bit...IMO...underrated in this day and age.

    WHITE pages. :o:o

I can certainly understand why you'd love your copy. (thumbs u

  14. I have a PS3...might have to get that game for my son and I to play (thumbs u

I have to warn you though that while the game is rated "T" for "Teen", it pushes the limits a bit and could easily have warranted an "M" for "Mature" rating; which I believe is for ages 17 and up.

The link to the review I posted captures some of the tone, but it gets darker at some points. Not "Resident Evil" dark; but pretty dark even for Batman.

  15. if Hugo continued to become a bigger and bigger? yeah because 36 is kinda one of the even # dogs of pre-robin Tecs compared to the 27, (28) 29, 31, 33 and 35. So a first appearance tag would propel it higher compared the its cooler big brothers. but Hugo might literally have to get a spinoff film to really catapult 36 higher someday.
something tells me hugo won't have much, if any, impact...but I like him in that video game lol

Did you get the chance to play Arkham Asylum Gator?

    not yet...should I (shrug)

If you already play Xbox 360 or Playstation 3...definitely.

It's about as close as one could ever get to actually being Batman. The story is very good, the gameplay is fantastic, and the atmosphere will get you totally hooked. It's essentially like getting to walk into a living breathing comic book.

I'd even recommend it to non-gamers as if you're already a serious fan of the comics, that interest alone (hopefully) will be enough to drag you in, encourage you to learn the controls, and then enjoy what is considered in some circles to be a masterpiece of the modern video game industry.

Game-reviews might give you a better idea as to what the game is like...
