    Nice mid-sized collection of everyone's favorite Golden Age black-and-white reprints from the 70s! For the most part, these are in very nice shape, though some have rusty staples (don't know how that happened). There's also one of the Don Maris reprints as well.

    Shipping is $8 for 1-2 comics, and $15 for 3 or more (Priority). Unfortunately, these are too heavy to send even one First Class.

    Payment by PayPal G&S (or if you're in the Philadelphia area, in person).

I know that other Fan Expo events (pre-COVID) had a strong comic book presence, and I would hope that comes to Philadelphia next year.

    I've already decided to come back; I just want to make sure that the disappointed fans this year do as well.

    I set up at this weekend's show, and I did pretty well. While I would love to say it was because I have amazing stock with rock-bottom prices, it was mostly due to the fact that there just weren't many comic dealers there for competition. 

    I completely understand that coming out of COVID, Fan Expo had to not go big as far as floor space (it was smaller than the last Wizard), and this limited the number of dealers as a whole. The problem, however, is that unless there are more dealers next year -- and that Fan Expo promotes the increase in number of those dealers -- comic collectors aren't going to return. 

    I spoke with a Fan Expo employee who said they were going to increase the floor size -- which is great -- and have more guests/artists/dealers next year, without them clearly saying so, people aren't going to return.

    I wonder if this is going to be similar to other of the rebranded Wizard shows.

    Next Sunday -- April 10 -- is the Philadelphia Comic-Con. Now you may be asking yourself, "Isn't that the same day as Philly FanExpo?" And the answer is yes. But, come on. Do you want to go and see various Doctor Who actors or buy some comics? [In reality, you can do both; go to FanExpo on Friday and Saturday and the airport show on Sunday.]

    The most exciting thing is that, since I'll be personally set up at FanExpo, young RC Comics (my son and future comic book tycoon) will be manning our table by his lonesome, selling great comics for an even greater price! This is a great comic book weekend in Philly.

    I'm not sure of the mask rules, but I'd bring one just in case. You know how these rules change daily with the local/regional authorities as well as the hotel.

    No early birds!

    Admission is $4 and parking is free. Door prizes are back, so you can win $25 con cash every hour!

    The last Philadelphia Comic-Con happened the day after Christmas. I was unable to attend due to shingles ravaging my six-pack torso. (Note: descriptions of my body are mine alone and do not represent the official opinion of the Philadelphia Comic-Con.) I will be back this time around, however, that damned varicella finally subdued. And many other dealers will be there as well, with plenty of awesome comics and trade paperbacks and related stuff to sell.

    So for the past 6 weeks, you've been buying gifts for everyone. Your kids, your siblings, your niblings, your special someone... but what about you?     I work from home. My wife works from home. My kids' after school activities are still limited. WE SEE TOO MUCH OF EACH OTHER! So it's good that there's a show at the Clarion Hotel this Sunday so we can spend a few hours away from each other.

    So from 10 to 4, you too can avoid your family and buy some great comics. 

    Masks are required for those unvaccinated (and I'll be wearing one too just because I'm that sort of a guy).

    I'm not sure I agree with that. While more B-level characters are being introduced into movies/TV, the same characters who have been around in other media for a decade are also seeing huge bumps. Scarlet Witch has been in the MCU since the second Avengers, but it wasn't until this huge spike in prices did we see X-Men #4 go ballistic.

    The rapid increase in pricing is strange to me because it's coming from both within the hobby and outside of it. The prices for the high-dollar Silver Age/Bronze Age keys seem to be coming from outside the hobby. These buyers have no real interest in the comics and characters and see these books as purely a good short- and long-term investment. (I don't necessarily think they are at the current price point, but whatever.) This is how we went from an AF #15 in 3.0 going from $12k to $30k seemingly overnight.

    However, the same can't be said for lower-priced books and those that are pure speculation (movie appearances especially). Those books are almost all from within the hobby. A guy looking to invest good money doesn't give two poops about a 9.8 copy of the first appearance of John Walker -- that's all driven from comic collectors. We can blame speculators or flippers or whoever you want, but it's coming from within fandom, not outside of it. 

    It's worrying to me how easily the pricing can be manipulated, but I don't think there's anything that can be done until people start getting burned. Who knows when that will happen.
