  1. So I have a question about what is appropriate to ask about pricing via pm. Generally speaking if I'm comfortable to make an offer up to 20% below ask and negotiate from there. Often I'll just take a book at ask if the deal is good but sometimes I'm just a little below what seller has posted and so will make an offer via PM. BUT what is the etiquette when my research and comfort level indicates the ask is potentially waay high (like 2x or more)? Is it ok to pm such an offer? I know the forum rules state you should post a price you will sell at and I don't want to insult the seller. In the case where the seller says they will send it to ebay is it ok then to try and save them some fees and pm what seems a most likely on eBay even if it is well below ask or to let it roll to eBay and then bid there?
  2. here's mine. submitted for april's mycomicshop auction, so it won't be mine for long. . .
  3. Here's some of mine And my current favorite piece
  4. 250 is a steal. Stan's been charging more than 50 for his sig for a while now. And a sketch that nice should be 100 by itself. Add in the book and that it is limited edition of only 250 copies and I would have expected 350 to 400 to be the retail. Yep, that's what I was thinking too. Pretty excited to be getting one.
  5. man, so glad I randomly saw this announce yesterday evening. I must have randomly got one of the last ones for mail order. the WC ones were still available until about 8 last night. Is it me or is $250 just a great price for this book? Also getting the WW Wonder-con book. Super stoked to have these 2 great books.
  6. That would be great. I have a Spectacular Spider-Man #2 CGC 9.6 with a cracked case and an old label and I much prefer the new label. The insufficiently_thoughtful_person I bought if from on eBay last month shipped it to me in a bubble mailer with no other protection. What do you mean, no other protection? It was in the holder wasn't it?? That's the holder's job.
  7. Bought some FFs from Kaspar. Packaged great and shipped promptly. Thanks!
  8. I don't think so. Went back and looked at them again and again but decided against them. The black widow stuff looks pretty fun though. And the first Romita Spidey's I just could not pass up. especially given the story behind those 2 issues.
  9. Love this idea of using magazine holders for CGC books. Gonna do that.
  10. Very nice. Would not mind owning another 16 some day. It is a cool book. That's the first book in my run I'll upgrade. It was the first early Avengers I bought and the copy I have is VG-. Would like it in F+ or better.
  11. I'm also missing only #6 and I'm having a bit of trouble finding it in the grade range I want. What grades are you both looking for? I've got a CGC 8.0 available. It's a light cover -- I would be interested at the right price. PM me.
  12. got this one today from My Comic Shop Auctions:
  13. Got this today from My Comic Shop Auction. I only need #6 now to be complete through 106!
  14. Nice! Took me like 2 years to finally find an avengers 4 to fill that hole. Great books.
  15. Man, there are so many of these early covers that I think would make awesome t-shirts. This one and #13 are two that I would love to have as shirts.
  16. square-bound 9.8s . . . amazing!
  17. Comics price guide lists an 8.0 at $8.00, a 9.8 at $32.00 if that helps. awesome! thanks. It's not in Overstreet at all. Never thought to look there.
  18. some highlights from a box a got today. does anybody have any idea how to value the eisner sports thing? it's a compilation from 1984
  19. The software did nothing for my scanner. I did a comparison between vuescan and my scanner software and found that vuescan produced a truer image to the book. My scanner software was good but maybe too good -- it cleaned up the image so it looked great, but didn't produce as good an image for grading purposes. Particularly it made white areas too white and colors brighter. When I post my first sale thread, I'll probably use vuescan for the scanning. Thanks to people for turning me on to it.
