  1. BangZoom posted an image of one of the editorial pages of WT where the controversy was being discussed - interesting reading: Link
  2. Thanks! It was published by August Derleth's Arkham House in 1946. It's the earliest edition of any of Howard's works in book form that is realistically available (A Gent from Bear Creek was first published in Britain in 1937, but only 6 copies exist, most of them in libraries). And in Bangzoom's collection? At this point it wouldn't surprise me. Probably has the dust jacket too. Only one of the 6 copies still has the dj (the copy owned by Derleth and then Glenn Lord). There was also a "cheap edition" (whatever that means - wrappers maybe?) published in 1938 - no known copy exists. Here is a great article on collecting Howard 1st editions from Firsts magazine in 2000: Collecting Robert E. Howard
  3. Thanks! It's one of my favorite Brundage covers - a nice, balanced composition.
  4. No, though I was sorely tempted and if I could catch one at a good discount I'd definately try and snag any of them. The prices on them shot up a little too much too quickly, especially the Solomon Kane volume, but they've started to come down a bit. It's a real shame that it doesn't look like the third Conan volume will ever be released in a limited format. Did you get any of them?

  8. I've been stuck out in a swamp with no internet for the last couple of weeks and have some catch-up reading to do. When I got home I had a stack of Priority Mail boxes waiting for me, mostly pulps.
  9. Just saw this for the first time: New Buck Rogers Movie! Possibly directed by Frank Miller.
  10. Good luck!!! Are you going at it title by title or buying lots as you go around. Which titles are in your sights right now? This came in today's mail Nice!
  11. Here are some interior Paul illos that I posted in Sardo's Buck Rogers thread a few weeks back.
  12. Let me get in on the Paul party. Here are some examples of his planetary city series from the back covers of Amazing in 1941. These aren't mine any more, but they went to a good home a few months back.
  13. And the Golden Fleece has "Black Vulmea's Vengence." (thumbs u Great books! To echo Ciorac, it's great to have another pulp collector here. I just started collecting them about a year ago and I'm completely hooked.
  14. YES PLEASE!!! And thank you!! I have a few, but am looking to complete the bedsheet run as well (I'm a big Paul fan). Can you list which issues the various back covers are from? Thanks loads!! I'll second that! You can never have too many Paul scans in a thread. Also, I'm guessing from your user name, that you might have some REH material?
  15. Wow! What a great first post! Welcome to the boards! Can't wait to see more of your collection. Jeff
