  1. The plan right now is to debut the collection at the Baltimore Comic Con this year. Hope you can make it.
  2. I reached out to the family and this is what they had to say. Do any of you know if the store's he has mentioned dealt in the Ohio Pedigree collection? I've read that they were bought over the years by a few dealers and spread out. I’ll give you as much information as I can about his collection. I believe he started collecting in the late 60’s as a kid in Pittsburgh. My parents moved to Lexington in the late 70’s and he continued going to shows through the late 80’s. He continued to buy books off the shelf through probably 2000. Although he stopped going to shows he was still active in trading comics with local shops and as far away as Louisville and Cincinnati. He would give boxes of comics to them as they went to shows. They would to buy/trade/sell his things and shop for the books he was looking for. Locally the shops I remember are both closed: Red Rock Collectibles (Ken Rayfield) and Collectibles Etc (I can’t remember the father/son duo that ran the shop). Collectibles Etc is no longer here but the shop is now A+ Comics and Collectibles. I’ve been in a few times but don’t recognize anybody there. In Louisville I believe he worked with Great Escape. In Cincinnati, he visited Queen City Comics. Not sure how much business he did with either but I know he would go there once or twice a year. There’s a lot to go through but some of the comics have original boards and/or price stickers from the shops/dealers he bought them from. One more thing to catalog and track If I can think of any more stores or people I’ll be sure to send the info your way.
  3. I'm thinking the same thing Cat. I've reached out to the family to see if I can get any clarification on how, when, and where he purchased his comics. I've looked at Matt's site and also Heritage's past sales history to see if I can see any familiar runs/time frames of comics. So far, nothing concrete. Thanks, David
  4. No, he started buying off the stand around 1960. The golden age he bought later
  5. Hello fellow collectors! I’ve acquired a collection this week that has some very high grade Golden Age in it. The collection came out of Lexington KY. There’s some markings on the books that I’m questioning. Due to the high grade I’m wondering if there could be some pedigrees mixed in. Let me know what you think! these first two have markings that look like the Ohio pedigree.
  6. Hey Everybody, come by and visit Arex Crooke (booths 872,971) and me, David Burns (booths 868,870) at Heroes Con this year! Gold, Silver, Bronze up to current; approx. 175 boxes of comics!. Plus we will have nearly 70 short boxes of Hard and Soft cover trades that are all from an original owner collection. This Collector was a true hoarder; he bought but never read these trades! These are not your normal warehouse blowouts! Not a single duplicate in the entire collection. Be sure to come by and check us out!
  7. Last night I watched the Justice League Gray version. Were some of the scenes changed from the Snyder version to the Snyder Gray version? It's been several months since I watched the Snyder version ........... Either way, I enjoyed it!
  8. Thanks everyone for the likes. There are some truly great looking paperbacks in this thread! Here are a few more. The Rage is a fairly recent pick up that I'm very happy with. The others are just some laying around.
  9. I seldom post now a days but did pick up a couple of new books a couple of weeks ago....
  10. What happened to "Gonna take my time with this one"? LOL! Watched episode 1 yesterday, enjoyed it!
  11. Thank you for the buys! Will you be coming to Heroes next weekend?
