  1. I emailed them, like suggested by @CGC Mike, here is what was said,

"Thank you for your email. I'm sorry to hear that you received conflicting information. Due to the volume of submissions of remarques that Art Adams received, he was unable to complete them all at his signing. We are currently sending the books to the artist in batches to be worked on. Once books are completed we expedite them through the grading and encapsulation process. I apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced and for the delay with the service. I can confirm that the books are actively being worked on and we are doing everything in our power to get the books back to clients as soon as possible."

No scheduling other signing, no date for possible completion, but they are going through the mail, being worked on in free time, and there is no supervision. Why were we told, on more than one occasion that they were NOT with Art, and that there would be another signing?

Only some of the submissions have been completed. Art is still working on the rest.

So does that mean he took books with them, and is slowly mailing them back? Because that is not what we were told was happening before.

There’s always next time I guess.

That's the thing. There isn't next time. Because people took advantage of it, they are now putting "No blank covers" on the announcement emails for upcoming signings.

I took a look at the 2-3 examples of head sketches that I was able to find online, that he had done at the last signing..there was a very nice Logan (though no where near as elaborate as the ones being done this time around) and went with that, figuring if I got something at all like that I'd be happy for $120. I also went by the two samples shown in the CGC announcement which looked pretty detailed to me (those were drawn on an X-Men print and are actually fairly decent sized as the print is pretty large); so with that limited info in mind, I sent in eight books; Five sketch covers and three published covers with enough room for a decent sized remarque. I'm amazed at the pieces that have shown up so far; I can only cross my fingers I get something in that range on mine. However long it takes, I'm fine with.

Of course you would be fine with waiting. If you get, lets go on the low end for a commission like this, $400, 2k worth of work, for $600, I would be happy to wait as well. Because we all know that 70%, minimally, of these blank covers are going to appear on ebay for $500+.

Honestly I love Art's work but this is upsetting for a number of reasons.

1 - The price point and the "sample remarque" made it seem like you'd be getting a tiny head doodle, if people knew that submitting a blank cover would get you results like this then EVERYONE would have submitted blank covers. Now that opportunity is lost except to those who sent blanks.

    image.jpeg.4fbf030ed4c951e7b07636085842c413.jpeg

2 - By going above and beyond on the blank covers the rest us will be waiting for who knows how long to ever see our books again? Again no shade to Art, bless him for giving people such incredible pieces of work that would normally cost what.. $1000 to comission?
3 - I submitted FF 348 2nd print thinking we were getting tiny head doodles. So screw me I guess.

It is upsetting knowing what others are getting, and because others are getting what would be a much more costly, full sketch cover we are being left waiting with no info on when it is going to be completed.

Well, it will not be a week for a couple of days.  :kidaround:   Seriously, I do not have any new information at this time.  Sorry.

I wasn't meaning right this minute. But in general. Keeping us up to speed should be a minimal thing. Even if there isn't any new info, to occasionally let us know what is going on. This whole thing has been very frustrating from our end.

  6. Thank you @WDBill That is very much appreciated. It is frustrating when we pay all this money for these things, and they can't even give us a 5 word answer on what is going on, or when they think it will happen. Hell, even them saying that it was going to happen at NYCC would of been a perfectly acceptable answer. It's not the delays that upset myself and alot of others, things happen. It's the lack of communication.

Dang. I’d almost rather they got sent with Arthur to work on. Maybe CGC will bring the remaining books to NYCC and get Arthur to do them there.

Really anything would be better than the silence they gave us, until there was enough chatter from us. If this thread would not have gotten any traction I am quite certain they would of never said anything.

All we want is some communication as to what is going on with this.

  8. I have two SS orders for the clump of orders for NYCC signings. I realized I forgot to add pressing onto them. Normally I would just make a new order and have it done that way. However, both of them are remarques from people that are only doing a few, and that option is no longer available. Does anyone know, would I be able to call/email, or even just write on the invoice to add pressing on?

    Hello @Maboc,

Could you please send us the order number of this package so we can review the cause for this?

For sure, CGC5392961737 is the order number.4198213 is the submission number.

  10. I had posted this in ask CGC originally, but then saw in this topic people having the same issues.  I contacted CS, but was basically told to suck it. It has been a few weeks since I got my book back from the Rose Besch signing, and my book was heavily damaged during the process, including some pressable defects that were not there when I sent it in, and paid for the pressing. There is also a tear on the back cover now. I have photos from before the signing, and there was no tear, or damage where there is now. The signature and remarque are exactly where I cut windows for them, so I cant imagine it was taken out. I just kept getting told that the damage happened in transit, and that was that. It is kind of hard to imagine that somehow a tear like this happened in transit. Even if that were true, the pressable things should of come out during the press. The front damage is kinda hard to photograph, but very noticeable in person. What I assumed was a easy 9.6-9.8 is now an 8.0 due to negligence, and no one cares. I have several more books currently there for both SS and regular grading, and it has really shaken my confidence in CGC.
