  1. New topic:

With all due respect to my fellow board members, isn't a post in the announcement thread to "gauge the interest" and asking for PM's tantamount to using the Marketplace Forum to offer a private sale, and thereby avoiding any thread posting and requisite guidelines? Seems to me that there have been an awful lot of "micro-sales threads" embedded within the anouncement thread of late, many of which have never "matured" to actual sales threads.

We all know who is going to come down on which side of this discussion point, but nevertheless . . . thoughts?

For what it's worth, I had noticed it too about a week or so ago. I figured they were just fishing for interest.

  2. Going through a buddy's copper age collection (thanks for help in that other thread, guys) ... and I've come across some prestige format DCs, which I haven't come across before.

There's a line up and down the spine on the front and back maybe a quarter-inch or less in from the edge. It looks like it's supposed to be part of the book to make opening the thick card-like cover ... but I wanted to make sure.

    Again, thanks in advance ...

All the prestiges I have do have that line to protect the spine. The line is also on most of the DC trades as well. If its one of the Bat family books, I may own it and can check my copy.

    Hope that helps.

  3. I hate to say it as it may affect some of the newbies who are honest , but this is another perfect example why posters with a small post count should not be allowed to sell.

Well, I think that anyone can pull that a fast one. It's just that most of the posters here are tight knit. I recently had a seller tell me that he had all the issues on my WTB list but only produced scans of an assortment. Something did not feel right so I lowballed him and he went away.

I saw that he listed only the handful of scanned issues on ebay. I find this odd that he would not have up all the issues on ebay. His auction did not sell and he has yet to list them all the issues from my WTB list on ebay. This seller has a post count in the 4 figures, should I trust him based on this high number?

I am not saying that he was definitely trying to pull a fast one on me but it is up to the buyer to feel confident with the purchase. Something about this did not feel right and I walked way.
