  1. I know. He did the same with me in saying the previous week he was so busy with school work, he forgot and mailed them out. No books yet!

I know and I am sorry for you too. I don't mind waiting for books but to be told misinformation and then not even provide a courtesy email explaining what happened. I find this totally unacceptable behavior. I am beyond pissed right now. When I saw that the Paypal dispute was updated and he did not email me directly, that was completely wrong.

If you put him on the list, he is not removed from the list until YOU ask for him to be removed.

Until he goes out of his way to make whatever right for you, leave him there. :gossip:

Too bad that some others have put him on the list as well and if history dictates then majority will rule. I just think that there must be some cut off of repeat offenders. If there isn't than this list is not working because there is not ultimate penalty.

  3. I still would like an answer to my question:

So how many times does a person get put on the list and removed before they are perm-banned?

No one is ever "banned" from anything, permanent or otherwise. The list is there only so that board members are aware of past transaction issues. Whether they choose to heed the warnings or not is entirely up to them.

Here's the problem though. Even if I searched for his name it was either changed or just misspelled in the list. It is there as Cap FFreak and as Cap FFreek so how would I be able to search through the list without manually review all entries in entitled PROBATION UPDATE which by the way I am doing and keeping my own list.

While I am sure that David would not agree with me I would like an answer from him as it is his list.

  5. Time for a spanking. Where is the young man at?

    lol

Never. I am a totally push-over with my kids, and they know it already. But it isn't cool what Connor is doing.

The books may have been cheap, but he was paid fast once he got around to sending his information. Only fair to treat people the same way.

What he is doing is far worse. He told me that they were sent out and then disappeared without communicating anything with me. To me that is unforgivable and I just want to be done with this deal already.

  6. Just to update everyone on the Cap_freak situation. He has updated the paypal dispute and will be shipping the books. For the record, I requested him to refund my money in the Paypal dispute, email to his paypal address and even via PM from here. All my request have gone ignored and he has yet to make direct contact with me.

I truly do not deserve to be treated this way by any seller despite his age. That is no excuse. So how many times does a person get put on the list and removed before they are perm-banned?

For the record, the books I purchased are not expensive books. He did not do me a favor by selling them so cheaply. A full set of those books goes for the amount of money I paid for only 3/4 of the set. I enjoy purchasing on these boards and would rather help out a board member but honestly, this has me rethinking future purchases.

  7. Sweet books, Dover. I don't know that I've ever seen a HG copy of that Action. You're making me jealous. Back in the early 80's I set the goal of getting all Adams DC covers. At the time, most averaged $3 in NM. It was just impossible to find them, so I gave up.

Now, even though there's no love for the Archie books, I'm going to inflict more on everyone. I can't even tell you how tough these are in grade. Unlike most Marvel and DC's, you could look for 5-10 years for a HG copy of some of these and still come up empty handed. The nice thing about this batch was that not only the Archie and the B&V's were there ( which are slightly more common in HG because, I believe, many were in multipacks), but some of the secondary titles like Archie and Me had nice HG copies, which you never, ever see.

Hmm. Nothing like that 1970's teen fad, roller derby!! What were they thinking (I'm guessing it had something bizarre to do with "Rollerball")? And is this the only roller derby cover ever published?

That's some great finds. Love reading those covers.

  8. wait a second..the guy can't defend himself...or is he just keeping all the $$$

The KID is probably just embarrassed. Needs to be more responsible though. 2c

I am keeping a positive attitude and think that he will tell his side once the holiday weekend is over. If he is a kid, like you said, he is probably away.

But then again, my donations to the firefighters some years ago, financed a vacation. hm

    :jokealert:

  9. Is CAP_freak the first probation thread repeat offender?

He was on the list before? :o

    I had no idea

Me either. I have mentioned this before that a running history would be nice. Once on the list you should not get removed but flagged as removed.

And Michael Vick should never play again in the NFL . . .

Be my guest, if anyone wishes to take over this task

Cap_freak was indeed a repeat offender - twice I believe. But he made good or was excused. (shrug)

I won't even mention his questionable practices in the grading contests . . .

David, you handle this well. The first removed person I purchased from worked out fine. I was just not impressed with the way MuscleShark was handled.

BTW - Vick should not and Plaxico either for that matter. These players making tons of money are suppose to be role models and look at the illegal behavior. Sorry for the rant. Favre is threatening to return :baiting:

  10. Is CAP_freak the first probation thread repeat offender?

He was on the list before? :o

    I had no idea

Me either. I have mentioned this before that a running history would be nice. Once on the list you should not get removed but flagged as removed.

  11. I know of another board member who was left dangling for 6 weeks or more. I will PM this evening to see if there was ever any resolution. But I have been waiting for this to happen.

Really pizzes me off when good member do this krap.

Pat, I don't mind waiting and I have waited for some books. The problem I have is two-fold - One, he has been posting here and has had other sales since my purchase. Two - He has told me that the books were already mailed. Now, they could have come back to him or possibly lost but he has not communicated either one with me or provided a requested delivery confirmation number.

  12. I was waiting before reporting this but today is the cut off day for me. Last week after two days of not hearing back from Cap_Freak - Connor, I did a new PM requesting a tracking number. He responsed to that PM in a timely fashion and told me that the books went out on Monday. Well it is over the 9 day period and without a tracking number, paypal claim has been filed. I would like to work it out with the seller but this non-communication is not worth the hassle.

BTW - Paid for books on 4/16 and even threw in a couple extra bucks to cover expenses.

  13. OH! And double cover brotha for a sweet Supergirl Archive.

And to the following for buying my junk.....

    Divad the friend and enforcer.

Karma23 because karma can eff u up.

Topofthetotem even though he never posts anymore because his new BF thinks it's lame.

    Icouldbe because, he could be.

Spoon Pontoon for showing up saying hi then logging off to clean up poop.

And kudos to all the sellers and buyers on these boards. It can be a harsh mistress but at the end of the night if you treat her right, she'll generally put out. :acclaim:

    Right back at ya, John.

  14. Quick question about the buyer experience on here with graded books.

Someone had listed two CGC 9.6 books, and one of the books had what appeared to be a very odd slant to the top of the book.

Before making an offer on both books, I sent a PM asking about this. The response I received from the seller was "The book is straight but for some reason the scan came out all crazy looking." He appeared to be a long-term seller that I've never noted a complaint about, so I took him at face-value.

After agreeing on an amount and paying within 10 minutes so as never to be a holdup, the books get shipped. That is my normal practice with anyone on here unless there is a very special circumstance.

The package arrives superbly protected, but upon removing the book I had a concern with there is definitely a very slanted cut to the book from the manufacturer that I was told "The book is straight." Then, being new CGC cases, the seller keeps the CGC bags rather than send them with the books.

Asking the seller what happened to the bags, his response is "Yeah the bags got miss placed sorry about that."

Am I wrong to be disappointed in this transaction where someone is not being up-front when asked about the cut of a book and then nickel-and-diming a quick-paying buyer by keeping the scratch-protectant bags?

I never do this to buyers, so I wanted to feel this out what the consensus is here.

Since you did inquire about the cut of the book the seller should give you a prompt refund. As for the bags... (shrug)

  15. Got a boat load coming back soon :) It's going to be difficult to price some of these :) Some are the highest in the census. I think I'll end up auctioning some.

    Here are some highlights:

    Falling In Love 123 9.4

    Girls Romances 154 9.4

    Girls Romances 159 9.2

    Heart Throbs 132 9.2

    Secret Hearts 151 9.0

    Secret Hearts 150 9.2

    Girls Love Stories 154 9.0

    Jimmy Olsen 156 9.4

    Girls Love Stories 164 9.4

    Girls Romances 156 9.2

    Girls Romances 150 9.2

    Girls Love Stories 167 9.2

    Lois Lane 140 9.4

    Lois Lane 129 9.4

    House of Mystery 210 9.4

I also have an Our Love Story 37 that got an 8.0 baffled about that one.

I also got a few that were in the 8.5 range that I'm just hoping to break even with.

Overall, interesting learning experience. I was hoping for a few 9.6's. But, I know CGC doesn't give these out too freely :)

Those sound great, post pics when you get them back.

  17. Both Walking Dead Omnibuses have limited print runs (which drops to tiny for the signed & numbered editions), so I don't think the new giant book they're doing will influence that.

No, that won't then. I only read the first year on that series in HC and that book was heavy. Not sure how readable the new edition will be.
