  1. Since the mods are hands off with this and we as board members have to self monitor, why don't we as a community come up with definate rules to oversee the transactions. would it be wrong to say that if it came to be known that 95% of the members decide that if you have 2 or 3 "strikes" then you are banned from selling or buying? i guess what i'm saying is we as a whole have to come to a consensus as to what will be allowable and what will not since the mods will not have any hand in this and start to police ourselves in a more thourogh manner with defined limits and accountability? the last thing i want to see is it get so bad here that the selling boards are removed completely. j
  2. I respect that you are trying to be fair, but a SCAM IS SCAM. Let's not kid ourselves this was just a difference of opinion on grading. Having the original owner come on and make it clear what they sold to him, and condition they made it very clear these books were in, and then he turns around and says something different to flip them is NOTHING like some of the recent situations. This was a scam gone bad, and is blowing up in the seller's face. Let's not try and handle this with kid gloves, but if he ever wants to do business on here the situation better be resolved to everyone's satisfaction. I have to agree with Burntboy--and it has nothing to do positive transactions with Sergio on my part. As a community, we have (almost) always given the individual the opportunity to make right on their own, and in doing so, allowed them "back into the fold." For example, it appears Connor really only began to make things right (with much assistance) because he faced the risk of legal action, hence his staying in the Hall of Shame. Mind you, this doesn't mean it would be a complete cleaning of the slate--ALL of these posts in and of themselves speak volumes and will no doubt have a direct effect on CS's buying and selling ability on the board. And people often send friendly FYIs all the time to interested buyers or sellers to inform them about potentially shaky deals. Clearly, it does seems as if there is a major discrepancy in the items described and the items received. I'm not advocating for inaction, but so long as reparations are made, I see no need for pitchforks and a lynch mob. no time to listen to a voice of reason ! It's time for public self destruction! just kidding Forrest j
  3. the problem is, the previous "issues" happening here are with people who have been on the probie list in the past, so i think there should be a permanent list with all of the violators listed with the add date and removal date (if applicable) and also a continuous list of the curret probies. (mods may be more open to this than branding losers with an "avatar of shame") maybe even put a warning as a reminder at the top of the selling boards to check the probation list? A good point was brought up with that last rant i had about that guy selling the chew #1 to other boardies whilst (props to the uk boardies!) still present on the probie list. "Just because you are on the list doesn't mean that you can't sell or buy, it's just a buyer beware list." I'm for the whole if you are on the active list, NO BUY NO SELL. People will continue to do what they want unless there are actual ramifications. I know the mods state they are hands off and won't touch any sales problems, but will they be open to assist in giving strikes for sales issues? the community on here as a whole are powerless besides bringing to light the issues and the scammers but nothing beyond that. this is a lawless town becoming a cesspool (or you can call it new jersey same definition) that needs some type of oversight. and to all the scammers, really? is a few bucks really worth it? you really want to alienate yourself from a community that even in bad times can and will buy books? are you really that stupid or are you just a low esteem loser who will use the money scammed from possible repeat buyers to finally get out of your mom's basement? Maybe you should just take your ideas and scams and go back to ebay. otherwise off! j
  4. Honestly? An outright lie versus a difference of grading opinion, and impacting so many buyers, I wouldn't allow this person to deal in the sales forum again. But that is just me. Scamming is unforgivable! i say if the allegations are true and no restitution is made, he should be #6 (we are up to #6 right?). he hasn't provided much in the way of an excuse this time has he? has anything gone forward with the last ideas about pointing out people on the probie list? i also think that bosco is on the dot with 1 time on and off makes sense but the second time should be permenent either banning or permenet on the probie list. maybe each name put on the list from now on should have a description of the offenses and the amount at issue (just an idea). j

  11. Damn, that's short! I'll need to see that as well Did you see the "Dead Set" mini series from the UK? AWESOME! did you get the dvd in the mail yet? j Yes I did Jay, thank you!!! I can't wait to check it out this week, it looks great it is pretty cool for a low budget shakey cam movie. anyone see the original [REC] (remade in the us as quarantine)? Much better than the us version with its own slant that would never had flown over here (the ending). j My wife and I enjoyed Quarantine in the theaters, but I've been wanting to see the original REC at some point as well i have no idea how to get a copy of it that is sitting in my br/dvd cabinet. i can't help it, i need zombies in my life and if i see something even remotely zom related i buy it. I am Jay and it has been 1 day since i bought any zombie items (the max brooks SS book doesn't count since i haven't actually paid for it yet). j
