  1. That white 'scratch' is a reasonably common printer's glitch on Hulk 181. I think that gets a pass from CGC, at least in grades under 9.8
  2. I think 2.0 is more likely than anything else, though 1.8 seems possible. And that looks like a production cut to me rather than a trim job. You have Action 41 in the thread title
  3. I didn't. I got But based on past performance, I'd say that's uncorrelated with my result
  4. Admittedly I have a scale modellers toolbox, so you may not have one, but a fine razor saw does the job very neatly. In fact... never mind, it will get the slab open. Do you know any model builders?
  5. No problem Mike. I would still have got +1 on that one (instead of +2).
  6. Did the graders miss the writing on the cover of the Comet? Edit: never mind, I just noticed the yellow label! I spent a while looking that book up to check that it was not meant to be there. Not thrilled by that one, TBH
  7. I was thinking it tops out at 8.0 even with a press. A bit too much colour breaking stuff going on.
  8. Australian comic book producers of the 1940s and 50s on line one for you.
  9. There were a few comics reprinted in Australia with the Dell logo. Here's one of them. B&W interiors, with Matt Baker art in this one.
  10. Australian O.S.29 (1951) reprints the cover and about half of Four Color #286
  11. I had great luck with an offer. They ignored it and then I found the book in higher grade for the same amount on eBay.

    Your First

I was disappointed when I clicked on the thread title and found out that you are all talking about comic books! But since I'm here now I'll show this one. I was 7 when my mum took me to Melbourne to see me grandparents. I had no idea at the time, but she was there to have a tough talk to them about their living arrangements, since they were getting past the point of coping in their home. I suspect that's why I was given 30c and told I could go by myself to the newspaper seller around the corner and buy some comics. That was the first time I can remember having autonomy in my choice. I can't recall what the other one was, but this Australian Disney reprint was one of them. It has the Carl Barks story "The Paul Bunyan machine" in it.
