  1. Australian O.S.29 (1951) reprints the cover and about half of Four Color #286
  2. I had great luck with an offer. They ignored it and then I found the book in higher grade for the same amount on eBay.

    Your First

I was disappointed when I clicked on the thread title and found out that you are all talking about comic books! But since I'm here now I'll show this one. I was 7 when my mum took me to Melbourne to see me grandparents. I had no idea at the time, but she was there to have a tough talk to them about their living arrangements, since they were getting past the point of coping in their home. I suspect that's why I was given 30c and told I could go by myself to the newspaper seller around the corner and buy some comics. That was the first time I can remember having autonomy in my choice. I can't recall what the other one was, but this Australian Disney reprint was one of them. It has the Carl Barks story "The Paul Bunyan machine" in it.
  4. I second the recommendation. This is really well done. After I watched it, I realised that I've been a Barks fan for over 50 years and this was the first time I'd heard him speak.
  5. Silver Age, but there's some great artwork in this 1962 Dell. (This is #2, the story was also reprinted in #28)
  6. Then allow me to disagree. I have slabs from four different companies and while I place a higher value on the integrity of CGC slabbed books - I will pay market value for them, while I won't with the others - the physical slabs themselves are probably the least appealing of the four. Ironically, the very nicest slabs I've seen are from the least brand recognised of the companies, which I will only buy if the price is low enough.
  7. Has the baby sitter come yet? Not quite, give us a minute.
  8. Not necessarily, provided the paper is hydrated before trying it.I've successfully folded back some marginal looking paper by applying a little humidity first.
  9. Nice! I have a reprint of the dragon story. I think the artwork is wonderful.
  10. I think that was fireproof safes, and it was the chemical composition of the fireproofing that caused the rusting.
  11. Another UK/Australian edition And this one is a later Australian cover reprint, digest size
  12. I have a few of these. I tend to pick up ones with Bradbury stories. The first one is printed in the UK for the Australian market.
  13. I'm not sure I'm ever forgiving PKD for the ending of 'The man in the high castle', but I've enjoyed everything else, especially the electric sheep one.
  14. Australian G213 - reprints Four Color #1151 G226 - reprints FC #1184
