Now im waiting on 4 from Leirix Li signing, with artgerm custom labels... And then 8 raw grades with no signatures(those are all soulfire and fathom back in the Mike Turner days... and Ekos Preview) 1/30... now in GEI for those non sigs. 1/31... now in QC for those non sigs 1/31... now shipped. 4x 9.8, 9.6, 9.0, 8.5 AND my first 9.9 (and its the only one on census.... and total only 6 graded)

Ok fedex never scanned my package out to deliver and then came 2 hours late. But.... i got them. Here the now pressed ASM #252. Still a 9.6. and here is the pressed, NOW 9.8, What If #105

I shipped..... hahahhaha my what if 105 went up to 9.8 after a press. Asm 252 stayed the same at 9.6. That was my raw newsstand copy that defalco signed and it got a 9.6 grade. Pressing didnt change it, ah well... least it didnt go down

Well if you wrote down the number, reholder and ME dont typically change numbers... so you can pull it up and see.

Down to my 2 for Ron Frenz (What If #105 and ASM #252 newsstand, formerly a raw from my collection) both are 9.6 and have Defalco signatures and are being pressed... so lets hope upgrade to 9.8 or same 9.6, not downgrade. And 4 raw submissions to Leirix Li signing, 1 foil virgin ASM #32 Li cover and 3 virgin ASM #34, #36, #39 Li covers Dont have shots of the raws for the non foil... should have done that

Well that worked, 11 min later the fedex guy came in. OG: First signing event: After: Its funny how williams and lee are great artists and i love their work... but man their handwriting is just like mine, bad. So is claremont though. Love this book, makes me smile

Well.... fedex is 2hrs and 30 minutes late delivering a sign on delivery. nothing like being stuck waiting to sign for something and not being able to leave the house or do anything that might require me to not be able to answer the door. Wish cgc would use ups

Hahaha i see that a lot... in fact the newest fancy LCS near me gives 35% value on slabs if you sell to them. People have to be desperate for that in my opinion

I can understand that and respect that. I have certain books i would never part with for the same reason. I just dont share that view. But again, thats a personal way of looking at it and i do get where you are coming from. If its any consolation to you, others could still value your collection at a level above where you currently do based on an issue by issue approach.

Look at it this way. While your faith in cgc is shaken, the fact that the scammer was doing this to books you have at the grade level you have them at means they are more desirable as he was cheating people out of money who want what you legitimately have. So again, short term it feels devalued and may be harder to cash out on today, but long term it retains and grows in value because it is highly sought after and it never really lost that value due to its age and rarety

I wouldnt say that. I would say there is a chance that a subset of buyers are going to be temporarily impacted by this revelation and either not be willing to buy or want to pay less. However over time thay will fade as the desire to have the book at a desired grade overtakes the current stigma associated with say that asm 300 cgc 9.8. Its not as if the 9.8 copies are now easier to find, in fact the opposite has occurred as the pool has shrunk. So short term there will be a possible decrease in interest on the part of buyers, but a 9.8 that isnt on the list and still passes the buy the book not the label test is still worth the same as it was and only gets more rare each year. But if youd like to give me a great deal and pics, i might buy yours now

What is the point you are trying to make? Cgc books are no more or less valuable than the market says they are. I can say an amazing fantasy 15 is worth x at cgc grade level Y... but until someone pays for it at that, its not worth that.

THIS.... 100% THIS!!!! Why is their any book with no notes on it thats not a 10. Even that should have a joke note: "what a find!", "So perfect it almost glows", etc. But yes what makes my book a 9.8 and not a 9.9, that should be on every 9.8. Id also be curious what makes my 9.9 not a 10. But this gets really important when we get down to what makes my 9.6 not a 9.8, everything should be listed. Think of it this way, i cant make an informed decision about sending back for a press and regrade if i dont know the flaws and feel a press might fix them. We need this on every book and that will help to make sure we as buyers of cgc slabs can check the notes and see if the book we see matches them. This added to the pic in the verify tool is enough to help us avoid scams and report them before it gets to a level where cgc might have to buy back some books

No. Pressing results in regrade and new number. I can confirm that with superman 75 i sent to get pressed and regraded. Got same grade, picked up some spine stress from the press.... BUT got new cert nunber. It did take 2 days for the old cert to be removed from census though
